<span class="reftext"><a href="/romans/1-12.htm"><b>12</b></a></span>that is, that I may be encouraged<MG4837> together<MG4837> with you <i>while</i> among<MG1722> you, each<MG240> of<MG240> us<MG240> by the<MG240> other’s<MG240> faith<MG4102>, both<MG5037> yours<MG4771> and mine<MG1473>. <span class="reftext"><a href="/romans/1-13.htm"><b>13</b></a></span>I do not want<MG2309> you to be unaware<MG50>, brothers<MG80> <i>and sisters,</i> that often<MG4178> I have planned<MG4388> to come<MG2064> to you (and have been prevented<MG2967> so<MG2443> far<MG891>) so<MG2443> that<MG2443> I may obtain<MG2192> some<MG5100> fruit<MG2590> among<MG1722> you also<MG2532> just<MG2531a> as<MG2531a> among<MG1722> the rest<MG3062> of the Gentiles<MG1484>. <span class="reftext"><a href="/romans/1-14.htm"><b>14</b></a></span>I am<MG1510> <span class="fn"><a href="#fn">[i]</a></span>under<MG3781> obligation<MG3781> both<MG5037> to Greeks<MG1672> and to the <span class="fn"><a href="#fn">[j]</a></span>uncultured<MG915>, both<MG5037> to the wise<MG4680> and to the foolish<MG453>. <span class="reftext"><a href="/romans/1-15.htm"><b>15</b></a></span>So<MG3779>, for my part<MG1473>, I am eager<MG4289> to preach<MG2097> the gospel<MG2097> to you also<MG2532> who<MG3588> are in Rome<MG4516>. <p class="paragraph"><span class="reftext"><a href="/romans/1-16.htm"><b>16</b></a></span>For I am<MG1870> not ashamed<MG1870> of the gospel<MG2098>, for it is the power<MG1411> of God<MG2316> for salvation<MG4991> to everyone<MG3956> who believes<MG4100>, to the Jew<MG2453> first<MG4413> and also<MG5037> to the Greek<MG1672>. <span class="reftext"><a href="/romans/1-17.htm"><b>17</b></a></span>For in it <i>the</i> righteousness<MG1343> of God<MG2316> is revealed<MG601> <span class="fn"><a href="#fn">[k]</a></span>from faith<MG4102> to faith<MG4102>; as it is written<MG1125>: “<span class="fn"><a href="#fn">[l]</a></span>BUT THE RIGHTEOUS<MG1342> <i>ONE</i> WILL LIVE<MG2198> BY FAITH<MG4102>.” <p class="hdg">Unbelief and Its Consequences</p><p class="paragraph"><span class="reftext"><a href="/romans/1-18.htm"><b>18</b></a></span>For the wrath<MG3709> of God<MG2316> is revealed<MG601> from heaven<MG3772> against<MG1909> all<MG3956> ungodliness<MG763> and unrighteousness<MG93> of people<MG444> who suppress<MG2722> the truth<MG225> <span class="fn"><a href="#fn">[m]</a></span>in unrighteousness<MG93>, <span class="reftext"><a href="/romans/1-19.htm"><b>19</b></a></span>because<MG1360> that which<MG1110> is<MG1110> known<MG1110> about God<MG2316> is evident<MG5318> <span class="fn"><a href="#fn">[n]</a></span>within<MG1722> them; for God<MG2316> made<MG5319> it evident<MG5319> to them. <span class="reftext"><a href="/romans/1-20.htm"><b>20</b></a></span>For since<MG575> the creation<MG2937> of the world<MG2889> His invisible<MG517> <i>attributes, that is,</i> His eternal<MG126> power<MG1411> and divine<MG2305> nature<MG2305>, have been clearly<MG2529> perceived<MG2529>, being understood<MG3539> by what<MG4161> has<MG4161> been<MG4161> made<MG4161>, so<MG1519> that<MG1519> they are without<MG379> excuse<MG379>. <span class="reftext"><a href="/romans/1-21.htm"><b>21</b></a></span>For even though they knew<MG1097> God<MG2316>, they did not <span class="fn"><a href="#fn">[o]</a></span>honor<MG1392> Him as God<MG2316> or<MG2228> give<MG2168> thanks<MG2168>, but they became<MG3154> futile<MG3154> in their reasonings<MG1261>, and their senseless<MG801> hearts<MG2588> were darkened<MG4654>. <span class="reftext"><a href="/romans/1-22.htm"><b>22</b></a></span>Claiming<MG5335> to be wise<MG4680>, they became<MG3471> fools<MG3471>, <span class="reftext"><a href="/romans/1-23.htm"><b>23</b></a></span>and they exchanged<MG236> the glory<MG1391> of the incorruptible<MG862a> God<MG2316> for an image<MG1504> in the form<MG3667> of corruptible<MG5349> mankind<MG444>, of birds<MG4071>, four-footed<MG5074> animals<MG5074>, and <span class="fn"><a href="#fn">[p]</a></span>crawling<MG2062> creatures<MG2062>. <p class="paragraph"><span class="reftext"><a href="/romans/1-24.htm"><b>24</b></a></span>Therefore<MG1352> God<MG2316> gave<MG3860> them up<MG3860> to vile<MG167> impurity<MG167> in the lusts<MG1939> of their hearts<MG2588>, so that their bodies<MG4983> would be dishonored<MG818> among<MG1722> them. <span class="reftext"><a href="/romans/1-25.htm"><b>25</b></a></span>For they exchanged<MG3337> the truth<MG225> of God<MG2316> for <span class="fn"><a href="#fn">[q]</a></span>falsehood<MG5579>, and worshiped<MG4573> and served<MG3000> the creature<MG2937> rather<MG3844> than<MG3844> the Creator<MG2936>, who<MG3739> is blessed<MG2128> <span class="fn"><a href="#fn">[r]</a></span>forever<MG165>.
