writer, poet, and playwright. <br> I have published 10 books (and have been a contributor to several anthologies.). In addition to original books of fiction and poetry, this includes collections of some of my produced plays (and two epic-length works in literary publishing houses) as well as translations and adaptations for stage. </p> <p class="v11t"> I have received grants from: the Strindberg Society; A Rockefeller/Bancomer grant (US-Mexico Cultural Fund) for 1998-99 for collaborative work in two languages with Mexican author Juan Tovar; The American-Scandinavian Foundation; Fulbright Senior Scholar program to Eastern Europe (full-year); Fulbright Specialists Program, one to Eastern Europe and two to the Middle East. Various essays can be found on Academia.edu, usually arising from courses I have taught at Johns Hopkins University for over 16 years. A long series of essays and interviews in SUFI Journal(1998-2018) and the Shakespeare Journal in Scandinavia (Norsk Shakespeare Tidsskrift).
