Gelsinger)手中的资金明显不足，英特尔无法跟上对手的步伐。</p><p>作为半导体行业曾经无可争议的领导者，英特尔在芯片密度、成本和能效方面现已落后于台积电。随着竞争对手放弃设计与制造垂直整合模式，并从台积电的技术进步中受益，英特尔的市场份额遭到了侵蚀。结果是，英特尔不断烧钱，其股价在过去五年内下跌了一半。</p><p>近40年前，英特尔推出具有里程碑意义的80486芯片，格尔辛格是首席架构师。他于2021年重返公司，致力于帮助英特尔摆脱技术停滞。他现在表示，这项使命接近完成，承诺明年推出的芯片将在关键指标上与台积电的芯片不相上下。这或许可行，但这只是挑战的一部分。英特尔还需要证明它能够大规模、高效地生产尖端芯片，并且能吸引外部客户使用其制造服务。</p><p>这样扩大生产规模并持续升级，成本极其高昂。台积电计划在2024年投资300亿美元，其中大约80%将用于最先进的半导体制造。据英特尔估算，这大约足以建造一座耗资250亿美元的新工厂。</p><p>英特尔不需要投入那么多资金。公司高管表示，公共补贴和布鲁克菲尔德（Brookfield）等共同投资者可以提供所需资金的四分之一。如果这是真的，英特尔每年需要大约190亿美元，以保持每年建造一座新工厂的速度。</p><p>目前，英特尔计划明年的开支大致也是这个数额。但问题在于，格尔辛格还承诺，长期来看，资本支出将占到营收的四分之一。如果营收能达到大约750亿美元，那么这将有足够的余地。但这比分析师预计英特尔明年的营收高出约三分之一。</p><p>同时，建造新工厂的成本只会增加。台积电的运营利润率比英特尔高，过去十年其资本支出平均占营收的40%。换言之，两家公司的发展方向正相反。英特尔的复兴战略依托于两大支柱：一是芯片设计的革新，二是重夺制造领域的霸主地位。如果其当前的计划能够实现，那么英特尔在芯片设计方面的实力将得到充分证明。然而，财务差距不断扩大，除非能实现非凡的转变，格尔辛格可能将不得不重新考虑其在制造方面的策略。（辰辰）</p>
