<span class="reftext"><a href="/1_corinthians/10-2.htm"><b>2</b></a></span>and they all<MG3956> were baptized<MG907> into Moses<MG3475> in the cloud<MG3507> and in the sea<MG2281>; <span class="reftext"><a href="/1_corinthians/10-3.htm"><b>3</b></a></span>and they all<MG3956> ate<MG2068> the same<MG846> spiritual<MG4152> food<MG1033>, <span class="reftext"><a href="/1_corinthians/10-4.htm"><b>4</b></a></span>and all<MG3956> drank<MG4095> the same<MG846> spiritual<MG4152> drink<MG4188>, for they were drinking<MG4095> from a spiritual<MG4152> rock<MG4073> which followed<MG190> them; and the rock<MG4073> was <span class="fn"><a href="#fn">[a]</a></span>Christ<MG5547>. <span class="reftext"><a href="/1_corinthians/10-5.htm"><b>5</b></a></span>Nevertheless<MG235>, with most<MG4183> of them God<MG2316> was not pleased<MG2106>; for <i>their dead bodies</i> were spread<MG2693> out<MG2693> in the wilderness<MG2048>. <p class="paragraph"><span class="reftext"><a href="/1_corinthians/10-6.htm"><b>6</b></a></span>Now<MG1161> these<MG3778> things<MG3778> happened<MG1096> as examples<MG5179b> for us, so<MG1519> that<MG1519> we would not crave<MG1510, 1938> evil<MG2556> things<MG2556> as they indeed<MG2548> craved<MG1937> <i>them.</i> <span class="reftext"><a href="/1_corinthians/10-7.htm"><b>7</b></a></span>Do not be idolaters<MG1496>, as some<MG5100> of them were; as it is written<MG1125>: “THE PEOPLE<MG2992> SAT<MG2523> DOWN<MG2523> TO EAT<MG2068> AND TO DRINK<MG4095>, AND ROSE<MG450> UP TO PLAY<MG3815>.” <span class="reftext"><a href="/1_corinthians/10-8.htm"><b>8</b></a></span>Nor<MG3366> are we to commit<MG4203> sexual<MG4203> immorality<MG4203>, as some<MG5100> of them <span class="fn"><a href="#fn">[b]</a></span>did<MG4203>, and twenty-three<MG1501, 5140> thousand<MG5505> fell<MG4098> in one<MG1520> day<MG2250>. <span class="reftext"><a href="/1_corinthians/10-9.htm"><b>9</b></a></span>Nor<MG3366> are we to put<MG1598> the Lord<MG2962> to<MG1598> the<MG1598> test<MG1598>, as some<MG5100> of them <span class="fn"><a href="#fn">[c]</a></span>did<MG3985>, and were killed<MG622> by the snakes<MG3789>. <span class="reftext"><a href="/1_corinthians/10-10.htm"><b>10</b></a></span>Nor<MG3366> grumble<MG1111>, as some<MG5100> of them <span class="fn"><a href="#fn">[d]</a></span>did<MG1111>, and were killed<MG622> by the destroyer<MG3644>. <span class="reftext"><a href="/1_corinthians/10-11.htm"><b>11</b></a></span>Now<MG1161> these<MG3778> things<MG3778> happened<MG4819> to them as an example<MG5179a>, and they were written<MG1125> for our instruction<MG3559>, upon whom<MG3739> the ends<MG5056> of the ages<MG165> have come<MG2658>. <span class="reftext"><a href="/1_corinthians/10-12.htm"><b>12</b></a></span>Therefore<MG5620> let the one who thinks<MG1380> he stands<MG2476> watch<MG991> out<MG991> that he does not fall<MG4098>. <span class="reftext"><a href="/1_corinthians/10-13.htm"><b>13</b></a></span>No<MG3756> temptation<MG3986> has overtaken<MG2983> you except<MG1508> <i>something</i> common<MG442> to<MG442> mankind<MG442>; you <i>then,</i> judge<MG2919> what<MG3739> I say<MG5346>. <span class="reftext"><a href="/1_corinthians/10-16.htm"><b>16</b></a></span>Is the cup<MG4221> of blessing<MG2129> which<MG3739> we bless<MG2127> not a sharing<MG2842> in the blood<MG129> of Christ<MG5547>? Is the bread<MG740> which<MG3739> we break<MG2806> not a sharing<MG2842> in the body<MG4983> of Christ<MG5547>? <span class="reftext"><a href="/1_corinthians/10-17.htm"><b>17</b></a></span>Since<MG3754> there is one<MG1520> loaf<MG740>, we who are many<MG4183> are one<MG1520> body<MG4983>; for we all<MG3956> partake<MG3348> of the one<MG1520> loaf<MG740>. <span class="reftext"><a href="/1_corinthians/10-18.htm"><b>18</b></a></span>Look<MG991> at <span class="fn"><a href="#fn">[f]</a></span>the people<MG4561> of Israel<MG2474>; are those<MG3588> who eat<MG2068> the sacrifices<MG2378> not partners<MG2844> in the altar<MG2379>? <span class="reftext"><a href="/1_corinthians/10-19.htm"><b>19</b></a></span>What<MG5101> do I mean<MG5346> then<MG3767>? That food<MG1494> sacrificed<MG1494> to<MG1494> idols<MG1494> is anything<MG5100>, or<MG2228> that an idol<MG1497> is <span class="fn"><a href="#fn">[g]</a></span>anything<MG5100>? <span class="reftext"><a href="/1_corinthians/10-20.htm"><b>20</b></a></span><i>No,</i> but <i>I say</i> that things which<MG3739> <i>the Gentiles</i> sacrifice<MG2380>, they sacrifice<MG2380> to demons<MG1140> and not to God<MG2316>; and I do not want<MG2309> you to become<MG1096> partners<MG2844> with demons<MG1140>. <span class="reftext"><a href="/1_corinthians/10-21.htm"><b>21</b></a></span>You cannot<MG1410, 3756> drink<MG4095> the cup<MG4221> of the Lord<MG2962> and the cup<MG4221> of demons<MG1140>; you cannot<MG1410, 3756> partake<MG3348> of the table<MG5132> of the Lord<MG2962> and the table<MG5132> of demons<MG1140>. <span class="reftext"><a href="/1_corinthians/10-22.htm"><b>22</b></a></span>Or<MG2228> do we provoke<MG3863> the Lord<MG2962> to<MG3863> jealousy<MG3863>? We are not stronger<MG2478> than He, are we? <p class="paragraph"><span class="reftext"><a href="/1_corinthians/10-23.htm"><b>23</b></a></span>All<MG3956> things<MG3956> are permitted<MG1832>, but not all<MG3956> things<MG3956> are<MG4851a> of<MG4851a> benefit<MG4851a>.
