This mixed methods study utilized correlation, factor analysis and multiple regression techniques to identify significant predictors of students&#39; satisfaction with online learning in a higher education institution in Vietnam amid COVID-19 Pandemic. The study results show that learners&#39; interaction with content, peers and instructors correlated to and predicted student satisfaction. The study also indicated that although students valued the chance to be online for learning during the historic time, they viewed that interaction was limited and instructors should improve online teaching pedagogy. This is a qualitative case study, by using in-depth interviews to explore the changes in the perception, methods, and orientation of online learning of students and lecturers at a key pedagogical university when experiencing the three COVID-19 outbreaks in Vietnam. The findings show that the COVID-19 pandemic has a positive impact on the developmental orientation of online learning at the Vietnamese higher education level. Even though at the time of an outbreak, opposition and dissatisfaction with online learning occurred; but through the three outbreaks, together with the efforts of lecturers and students, online learning in Vietnam has recorded remarkable achievements. This article reports a study that explores how private school teachers perceive and adopt technological learning, how they transfer their technological knowledge and skills into the online classroom and how they self-assess their practices.
