aimed to determine the effect of Ylang-ylang aroma in decreasing the anxiety levels of parents with hospitalized toddlers diagnosed with pneumonia. Method: Quantitative Quasi-experimental one-group pre-test post-test design was utilized in the study. The study includes a pretest, an intervention, and a posttest on the same experimental group. Participants are parents aged 20 – 35 years old with a hospitalized toddler who is diagnosed with pneumonia. Anxiety levels were measured before the intervention using the State Trait Anxiety Inventory by Spielberger. Those who scored 41-120 proceeded to receive the intervention. The intervention was a 3-day course of aromatherapy where the participants inhaled the Ylang-ylang flower at a distance of 10 – 15 cm away from the face for 10 minutes. The post-test using the same instrument measured the levels of anxiety after the 3-day aromatherapy. Paired T-test of SPSS 21.0 was used to analyze the pre-test and post-test scores. Results: Study yielded a p value of 0.047 which shows significant difference between the levels of anxiety before and after the intervention. Conclusions: Based on the data analysis, the researchers concluded that inhalation of Ylang-ylang aroma is effective in reducing the anxiety level of the parents of hospitalized toddlers diagnosed with Pneumonia. <p class="card-text"><strong>Keywords:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Ylang-ylang" title="Ylang-ylang">Ylang-ylang</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Pneumonia" title=" Pneumonia"> Pneumonia</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Toddlers" title=" Toddlers"> Toddlers</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Aromatherapy" title=" Aromatherapy"> Aromatherapy</a> </p> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/20604/the-effect-of-inhalation-of-ylang-ylang-aroma-on-the-levels-of-anxiety-of-parents-with-hospitalized-toddlers-diagnosed-with-pneumonia" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">Procedia</a> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/20604.pdf" target="_blank" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">PDF</a> <span class="bg-info text-light px-1 py-1 float-right rounded"> Downloads <span class="badge badge-light">414</span> </span> </div> </div> <div class="card paper-listing mb-3 mt-3"> <h5 class="card-header" style="font-size:.9rem"><span class="badge badge-info">238</span> Plastic Pellets in Santa Cruz Dos Navegantes Beach, Brazil, in the Winter of 2019</h5> <div class="card-body"> <p class="card-text"><strong>Authors:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Victor%20Vasques%20Ribeiro">Victor Vasques Ribeiro</a> </p> <p class="card-text"><strong>Abstract:</strong></p> The Santa Cruz dos Navegantes beach is located in the city of Guarujá, in the central portion of the coast of the state of São Paulo. Next to this beach is located the Channel of the Port of Santos, configured as a source of plastic pellets for marine environments. On sandy beaches near the sources, especially during the winter and after cold front entrance events, the amounts of pellets can be very high. This study aimed to determine the influence of a cold front entry event of the winter of 2019 on the amount of pellets found on Santa Cruz dos Navegantes beach, besides assuming the proximity of the sources. During six consecutive collection campaigns, three of which were previous and three after the cold front entry peak, 30.0 square meters of surface sediments were sampled in each campaign. The color and shape of the pellets were determined to assume the length of the permanence of these granules in the marine environment and, consequently, the proximity of the sources. This beach was considered ideal for this type of research. The pellet pollution index (PPI) was from moderate to very high right after the peak of the cold front entry. The cold front peak event significantly influenced the amount of pellets found on the beach of Santa Cruz dos Navegantes. The factors that can bury the pellets in the sediments were classified as low when compared to other beaches in the region. Most of the pellets found were recently produced and lost to aquatic environments. Like the other beaches near Santos Bay, Santa Cruz dos Navegantes beach receives significant amounts of pellets that have nearby origins. Therefore, it was supposed that the activities of the Santos port complex are sources of pellets for the marine environment. This pollution can be further worsened in certain meteoceanographic events. The beaches of this region need to be constantly monitored and evaluated for pollution by pellets. <p class="card-text"><strong>Keywords:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=beach" title="beach">beach</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=cold%20front" title=" cold front"> cold front</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=pellets" title=" pellets"> pellets</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=sources" title=" sources"> sources</a> </p> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/123407/plastic-pellets-in-santa-cruz-dos-navegantes-beach-brazil-in-the-winter-of-2019" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">Procedia</a> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/123407.pdf" target="_blank" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">PDF</a> <span class="bg-info text-light px-1 py-1 float-right rounded"> Downloads <span class="badge badge-light">193</span> </span> </div> </div> <div class="card paper-listing mb-3 mt-3"> <h5 class="card-header" style="font-size:.9rem"><span class="badge badge-info">237</span> Hybridized Simulated Annealing with Chemical Reaction Optimization for Solving to Sequence Alignment Problem</h5> <div class="card-body"> <p class="card-text"><strong>Authors:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Ernesto%20Linan">Ernesto Linan</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Linda%20Cruz"> Linda Cruz</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Lucero%20Becerra"> Lucero Becerra</a> </p> <p class="card-text"><strong>Abstract:</strong></p> In this paper, a new hybridized algorithm based on Chemical Reaction Optimization and Simulated Annealing is proposed to solve the alignment sequence Problem. The Chemical Reaction Optimization is a population-based meta-heuristic algorithm based on the principles of a chemical reaction. Simulated Annealing is applied to solve a large number of combinatorial optimization problems of general-purpose. In this paper, we propose hybridization between Chemical Reaction Optimization algorithm and Simulated Annealing in order to solve the Sequence Alignment Problem. An initial population of molecules is defined at beginning of the proposed algorithm, where each molecule represents a sequence alignment problem. In order to simulate inter-molecule collisions, the process of Chemical Reaction is placed inside the Metropolis Cycle at certain values of temperature. Inside this cycle, change of molecules is done due to collisions; some molecules are accepted by applying Boltzmann probability. The results with the hybrid scheme are better than the results obtained separately. <p class="card-text"><strong>Keywords:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=chemical%20reaction%20optimization" title="chemical reaction optimization">chemical reaction optimization</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=sequence%20alignment%20problem" title=" sequence alignment problem"> sequence alignment problem</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=simulated%20annealing%20algorithm" title=" simulated annealing algorithm"> simulated annealing algorithm</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=metaheuristics" title=" metaheuristics"> metaheuristics</a> </p> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/136324/hybridized-simulated-annealing-with-chemical-reaction-optimization-for-solving-to-sequence-alignment-problem" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">Procedia</a> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/136324.pdf" target="_blank" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">PDF</a> <span class="bg-info text-light px-1 py-1 float-right rounded"> Downloads <span class="badge badge-light">211</span> </span> </div> </div> <div class="card paper-listing mb-3 mt-3"> <h5 class="card-header" style="font-size:.9rem"><span class="badge badge-info">236</span> Pantawid Pamilyang Pilipino Program, '4P’s': Breaking the Vicious Poverty Cycle</h5> <div class="card-body"> <p class="card-text"><strong>Authors:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Bernadette%20F.%20De%20La%20Cruz">Bernadette F. Also, productivity can be improved by reducing times to perform tasks. In the last years, a lot of effort has been invested in research and development of collective control of mobile robots. This interest is justified as there are many advantages when two or more robots are collaborating in a particular task. Some examples are: cleaning toxic waste, transportation and manipulation of objects, exploration, and surveillance, search and rescue. In this work a study of collective movements of mobile robots is presented. A solution of collisions avoidance is developed. This solution is levered on a communication implementation that allows coordinate movements in different paths were avoiding obstacles. <p class="card-text"><strong>Keywords:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=synchronization" title="synchronization">synchronization</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=communication" title=" communication"> communication</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=robots" title=" robots"> robots</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=legos" title=" legos"> legos</a> </p> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/64452/collective-movement-between-two-lego-ev3-mobile-robots" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">Procedia</a> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/64452.pdf" target="_blank" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">PDF</a> <span class="bg-info text-light px-1 py-1 float-right rounded"> Downloads <span class="badge badge-light">433</span> </span> </div> </div> <div class="card paper-listing mb-3 mt-3"> <h5 class="card-header" style="font-size:.9rem"><span class="badge badge-info">234</span> ESGP-PA’s First-Generation College Student: Challenges to Succeed</h5> <div class="card-body"> <p class="card-text"><strong>Authors:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Bernadette%20F.%20De%20La%20Cruz">Bernadette F. Higher education continues to see an influx of these students from poor families that have never previously sent anyone to college. There are many challenges that face college students at all levels, but these are special challenges for first-generation students. Challenges that face these students can include lack of interest in attending school, low aptitude, being not single anymore, factors such as unfamiliarity with college expectations, lack of preparations while in secondary school, and limited support from family members. This research looks at some of the challenges first-generation college students face and examines the impact of these challenges on student’s aspirations for the attainment of a college degree and ultimately a high-paying career. <p class="card-text"><strong>Keywords:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=ESGP-PA" title="ESGP-PA">ESGP-PA</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=first-generation%20college%20students" title=" first-generation college students"> first-generation college students</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=low%20aptitude" title=" low aptitude"> low aptitude</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=poverty%20alleviation" title=" poverty alleviation"> poverty alleviation</a> </p> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/42711/esgp-pas-first-generation-college-student-challenges-to-succeed" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">Procedia</a> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/42711.pdf" target="_blank" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">PDF</a> <span class="bg-info text-light px-1 py-1 float-right rounded"> Downloads <span class="badge badge-light">327</span> </span> </div> </div> <div class="card paper-listing mb-3 mt-3"> <h5 class="card-header" style="font-size:.9rem"><span class="badge badge-info">233</span> An Assessment of the Writing Skills of Reflective Essay of Grade 10 Students in Selected Secondary Schools in Valenzuela City</h5> <div class="card-body"> <p class="card-text"><strong>Authors:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Reynald%20Contreras">Reynald Contreras</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Shaina%20Marie%20Bho"> Shaina Marie Bho</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Kate%20Roan%20Dela%20Cruz"> Kate Roan Dela Cruz</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Marvin%20Dela%20Cruz"> Marvin Dela Cruz</a> </p> <p class="card-text"><strong>Abstract:</strong></p> This study was conducted with the aim of determining the skill level of grade ten (Grade 10) students in writing a reflective essay in selected secondary schools of Valenzuela. This research used descriptive and qualitative-quantitative research methods to systematically and accurately describe the level of writing skills of students and used a convenient sampling technique in selecting forty (40) students in grade ten. (Grade 10) at Polo, Wawang Pulo, and Arkong Batong high schools with a total of one hundred and twenty (120) students to assess the written reflective essay using modified rubrics developed based on 6+1 writing traits by Ruth Culham. According to the findings of the study, students at Polo and Wawang Pulo National high schools have low levels of writing skills that need to be developed or are not proficient. Meanwhile, Arkong Bato National High School has achieved a high degree of writing proficiency. The general idea is to write the expression of P(S) in the form of a product of factors where each factor is easy to compute. More importantly, it will be very useful to give an interpretation of each of the factors in terms of conditional probabilities. This paper considers a semantic interpretation of the factors involved in computing marginal probabilities in Bayesian networks. Establishing such a semantic interpretations is indeed interesting and relevant in the case of large Bayesian networks. <p class="card-text"><strong>Keywords:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Bayesian%20networks" title="Bayesian networks">Bayesian networks</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=D-Separation" title=" D-Separation"> D-Separation</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=level%20two%20Bayesian%20networks" title=" level two Bayesian networks"> level two Bayesian networks</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=factorization%20of%20computation" title=" factorization of computation"> factorization of computation</a> </p> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/18829/factorization-of-computations-in-bayesian-networks-interpretation-of-factors" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">Procedia</a> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/18829.pdf" target="_blank" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">PDF</a> <span class="bg-info text-light px-1 py-1 float-right rounded"> Downloads <span class="badge badge-light">530</span> </span> </div> </div> <div class="card paper-listing mb-3 mt-3"> <h5 class="card-header" style="font-size:.9rem"><span class="badge badge-info">229</span> Enhancing Audience Engagement: Informal Music Learning During Classical Concerts</h5> <div class="card-body"> <p class="card-text"><strong>Authors:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Linda%20Dusman">Linda Dusman</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Linda%20Baker"> Linda Baker</a> </p> <p class="card-text"><strong>Abstract:</strong></p> The Bearman Study of Audience Engagement examined the potential for real-time music education during online symphony orchestra concerts. It follows on the promising results of a preliminary study of STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Mathematics) education during live concerts, funded by the National Science Foundation with the Baltimore Symphony Orchestra. For the Bearman Study, audience groups were recruited to attend two previously recorded concerts of the National Orchestral Institute (NOI) in 2020 or the Utah Symphony in 2021. They used a smartphone app called EnCue to present real-time program notes about the music being performed. Short notes along with visual information (photos and score fragments) were designed to provide historical, cultural, biographical, and theoretical information at specific moments in the music where that information would be most pertinent, generally spaced 2-3 minutes apart to avoid distraction. The music performed included Dvorak Symphony No. 8 and Mahler Symphony No. 5 at NOI, and Mendelssohn Scottish Symphony and Richard Strauss Metamorphosen with the Utah Symphony, all standard repertoire for symphony orchestras. During each phase of the study (2020 and 2021), participants were randomly assigned to use the app to view program notes during the first concert or to use the app during the second concert. A total of 139 participants (67 in 2020 and 72 in 2021) completed three online questionnaires, one before attending the first concert, one immediately after the concert, and the third immediately after the second concert. Questionnaires assessed demographic background, expertise in music, engagement during the concert, learning of content about the composers and the symphonies, and interest in the future use of the app. In both phases of the study, participants demonstrated that they learned content presented on the app, evidenced by the fact that their multiple-choice test scores were significantly higher when they used the app than when they did not. In addition, most participants indicated that using the app enriched their experience of the concert. Overall, they were very positive about their experience using the app for real-time learning and they expressed interest in using it in the future at both live and streaming concerts. Results confirmed that informal real-time learning during concerts is possible and can generate enhanced engagement and interest in classical music. <p class="card-text"><strong>Keywords:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=audience%20engagement" title="audience engagement">audience engagement</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=informal%20education" title=" informal education"> informal education</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=music%20technology" title=" music technology"> music technology</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=real-time%20learning" title=" real-time learning"> real-time learning</a> </p> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/141533/enhancing-audience-engagement-informal-music-learning-during-classical-concerts" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">Procedia</a> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/141533.pdf" target="_blank" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">PDF</a> <span class="bg-info text-light px-1 py-1 float-right rounded"> Downloads <span class="badge badge-light">203</span> </span> </div> </div> <div class="card paper-listing mb-3 mt-3"> <h5 class="card-header" style="font-size:.9rem"><span class="badge badge-info">228</span> MEAL Project–Modifying Eating Attitudes and Actions through Learning</h5> <div class="card-body"> <p class="card-text"><strong>Authors:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=E.%20Oliver">E. Sapropel forms over a long period in shallow waters by slowly decomposing organic sediment and has different compositions depending on the location of the source, surroundings, the water regime, etc. Official geological survey of Latvia lakes, from Latvian lake database (ezeri.lv), used in the selection of the area of the exploration. The multifunctional effect of sapropel on the whole organism explained by its complex chemical and biological structure. This unique, organic substance and its ability to maintain heat for a long time ensures deep tissue warming and has a positive effect on the treatment of various joint and skin diseases. Sapropel is a valuable resource with multiple areas of application. Investigation of sapropel sediments and survey of the five sites selected according to the criteria performed in the current study. Also, our study includes sampling at different depths and their initial treatment, evaluation of external signs, and study of physical-chemical parameters, as well as analysis of biochemical parameters and evaluation of microbiological indicators. The main selection criteria were sapropel deposits depth, hydrological regime, the history of agriculture next to the lake, and the potential exposure to industrial waste. One hundred and five sapropel samples obtained from five lakes (Audzelu, Dunakla, Ivusku, Zielu, and Mazars Kivdalova) during the wintertime. The main goal of the study is to carry out detailed and systematic research on the medical properties of sapropel to be obtained in Latvia, to promote its scientifically based use in balneology, to develop new medical procedures and services, and to promote the development of new exportable products. Latvian freshwater sapropel could be used as raw material for getting sapropel extract and use it as a remedy. All mentioned above brings us to the main question for sapropel usage in medicine, balneology, and pharmacy “how to develop quality criteria for raw sapropel and its extracts. While the qualitative approach of this study will not churn a theoretical framework unique to the family business field, it will bring to the surface important issues during a family business succession process that have been hidden behind the mostly profit-making issues that have been the main highlight of the family business field. <p class="card-text"><strong>Keywords:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=family%20business" title="family business">family business</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=succession" title=" succession"> succession</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=nepotism" title=" nepotism"> nepotism</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=family%20studies" title=" family studies"> family studies</a> </p> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/23791/family-business-succession-through-the-eye-of-the-upper-echelon-theory-a-phenomenological-approach" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">Procedia</a> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/23791.pdf" target="_blank" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">PDF</a> <span class="bg-info text-light px-1 py-1 float-right rounded"> Downloads <span class="badge badge-light">541</span> </span> </div> </div> <div class="card paper-listing mb-3 mt-3"> <h5 class="card-header" style="font-size:.9rem"><span class="badge badge-info">222</span> Fuzzy Logic in Detecting Children with Behavioral Disorders</h5> <div class="card-body"> <p class="card-text"><strong>Authors:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=David%20G.%20Maxinez">David G. The results showed that there were no significant differences on the effects of testosterone in emergence of larvae, mortality of eggs and larvae. However, it was shown that adults emerged from 15µM had a lower sex ratio than 10µM leading to the conclusion that there could be an optimal concentration of testosterone close to 10µM that could led to a high possibility of sex reversal of adult mosquitoes from female to male. <p class="card-text"><strong>Keywords:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=mosquito" title="mosquito">mosquito</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=sex%20reversal" title=" sex reversal"> sex reversal</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=testosterone" title=" testosterone"> testosterone</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=ecdysterone" title=" ecdysterone"> ecdysterone</a> </p> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/14233/controlling-the-growth-and-development-of-mosquito-aedes-aegypti-using-testosterone" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">Procedia</a> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/14233.pdf" target="_blank" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">PDF</a> <span class="bg-info text-light px-1 py-1 float-right rounded"> Downloads <span class="badge badge-light">567</span> </span> </div> </div> <div class="card paper-listing mb-3 mt-3"> <h5 class="card-header" style="font-size:.9rem"><span class="badge badge-info">219</span> The Real Estate Market Sustainability Concept and Its Implementation in Management of Real Estate Companies</h5> <div class="card-body"> <p class="card-text"><strong>Authors:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Linda%20Kau%C5%A1kale">Linda Kauškale</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Ineta%20Geipele"> Ineta Geipele</a> </p> <p class="card-text"><strong>Abstract:</strong></p> Due to the rapidly changing external environment, portfolio management strategies became closely interconnected with real estate industry development and macroeconomic development tendencies. The overall purpose of biofuel production research is to source an alternative energy source to replace the normal use of fossil fuel as liquid petroleum products. This experiment looks at the basis of biodiesel production with regards to alternative catalysts that can be used to produce biodiesel. The key factors that will be addressed during the experiments will focus on temperature variation, catalyst additions to the overall reaction, methanol to oil ratio, and the impact of agitation on the reaction. Brine samples sources from nearby plants will be evaluated and tested thoroughly and the key characteristics of these brine samples analysed for the verification of its use as a possible catalyst in biodiesel production. The current injected must be sinusoidal with reduced harmonic distortion. An additional filter is designed to reduce high-order harmonics on the output side. As we work with quantum information and computation with continuous variables, Gaussian states are needed to better describe these systems. Analyzing a single ion locked in a Paul trap we use the interaction picture to obtain a toolbox of Gaussian operations with the ion-laser interaction Hamiltionian. This is achieved exciting the ion through the combination of two lasers of distinct frequencies corresponding to different sidebands of the external degrees of freedom. First we study the case of a trap with 1 mode and then the case with 2 modes. In this way, we achieve different continuous variables gates just by changing the external degrees of freedom of the trap and combining the Hamiltonians of blue and red sidebands. <p class="card-text"><strong>Keywords:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Paul%20trap" title="Paul trap">Paul trap</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=ion-laser%20interaction" title=" ion-laser interaction"> ion-laser interaction</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Gaussian%20operations" title=" Gaussian operations"> Gaussian operations</a> </p> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/18445/gaussian-operations-with-a-single-trapped-ion" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">Procedia</a> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/18445.pdf" target="_blank" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">PDF</a> <span class="bg-info text-light px-1 py-1 float-right rounded"> Downloads <span class="badge badge-light">686</span> </span> </div> </div> <div class="card paper-listing mb-3 mt-3"> <h5 class="card-header" style="font-size:.9rem"><span class="badge badge-info">214</span> Optimization of Maritime Platform Transport Problem of Solid, Special and Dangerous Waste</h5> <div class="card-body"> <p class="card-text"><strong>Authors:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Ocotl%C3%A1n%20D%C3%ADaz-Parra">Ocotlán Díaz-Parra</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Jorge%20A.%20Ruiz-Vanoye"> Jorge A. The process development is not trivial and the main objective of enterprise managing processes is to decrease the software development time. Several concepts have been proposed in the field of business process-based reused development, known as BP Mashup. This concept consists of reusing existing business processes which have been modeled in order to respond to a particular goal. To meet user process requirements, our contribution is to mix parts of processes as 'processes fragments' components to build a new process (i.e. process mashup). The main idea of our paper is to offer graphical framework tool for both creating and running processes mashup. Allow users to perform a mixture of fragments, using a simple interface with set of graphical mixture operators based on a proposed formal model. A process mashup and mixture behavior are described within a new specification of a high-level language, language for process mashup (BPML). <p class="card-text"><strong>Keywords:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=business%20process" title="business process">business process</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=mashup" title=" mashup"> mashup</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=fragments" title=" fragments"> fragments</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=bp%20mashup" title=" bp mashup"> bp mashup</a> </p> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/4098/business-process-mashup" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">Procedia</a> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/4098.pdf" target="_blank" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">PDF</a> <span class="bg-info text-light px-1 py-1 float-right rounded"> Downloads <span class="badge badge-light">635</span> </span> </div> </div> <div class="card paper-listing mb-3 mt-3"> <h5 class="card-header" style="font-size:.9rem"><span class="badge badge-info">212</span> A Phenomenological Inquiry on the Spirituality of Young Filipino Gay Men Living with HIV</h5> <div class="card-body"> <p class="card-text"><strong>Authors:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Dela%20Cruz%20Abraham">Dela Cruz Abraham</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Bachoco%20Janine"> Bachoco Janine</a> </p> <p class="card-text"><strong>Abstract:</strong></p> Spirituality plays a central role among patients dealing with HIV mostly on the LGBT community in the world today particularly in the Philippines. This study seeks to contribute to the growing body of knowledge in LGBT psychology particularly on gay men living with HIV and their spiritual aspect. In line with this, the researchers aim to describe (1) how young Filipino gay men relate their experiences as an HIV-positive in relations to their self and significant others (partners, family, friends and community); (2) how young Filipino gay men make sense of their experiences as an HIV-positive, in connection to God, this also includes their meaning making and purpose of their life experiences. To recruit participants, the researchers will employ purposive sampling using snowball technique, and conduct a semi-structured interview. Verbatim transcriptions of the participant will be analyzed using interpretative phenomenological analysis. <p class="card-text"><strong>Keywords:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=interpretative%20phenomenological%20analysis" title="interpretative phenomenological analysis">interpretative phenomenological analysis</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=living%20with%20HIV" title=" living with HIV"> living with HIV</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=spirituality" title=" spirituality"> spirituality</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=young%20Filipino%20gay%20men" title=" young Filipino gay men"> young Filipino gay men</a> </p> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/57463/a-phenomenological-inquiry-on-the-spirituality-of-young-filipino-gay-men-living-with-hiv" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">Procedia</a> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/57463.pdf" target="_blank" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">PDF</a> <span class="bg-info text-light px-1 py-1 float-right rounded"> Downloads <span class="badge badge-light">316</span> </span> </div> </div> <div class="card paper-listing mb-3 mt-3"> <h5 class="card-header" style="font-size:.9rem"><span class="badge badge-info">211</span> Experimental Networks Synchronization of Chua’s Circuit in Different Topologies</h5> <div class="card-body"> <p class="card-text"><strong>Authors:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Manuel%20Meranza-Castillon">Manuel Meranza-Castillon</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Rolando%20Diaz-Castillo"> Rolando Diaz-Castillo</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Adrian%20Arellano-Delgado"> Adrian Arellano-Delgado</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Cesar%20Cruz-Hernandez"> Cesar Cruz-Hernandez</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Rosa%20Martha%20Lopez-Gutierrez"> Rosa Martha Lopez-Gutierrez</a> </p> <p class="card-text"><strong>Abstract:</strong></p> In this work, we deal with experimental network synchronization of chaotic nodes with different topologies. Our approach is based on complex system theory, and we use a master-slave configuration to couple the nodes in the networks. In particular, we design and implement electronically complex dynamical networks composed by nine coupled chaotic Chua’s circuits with topologies: in nearest-neighbor, small-world, open ring, star, and global. Also, network synchronization is evaluated according to a particular coupling strength for each topology. This study is important by the possible applications to private transmission of information in a chaotic communication network of multiple users. <p class="card-text"><strong>Keywords:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=complex%20networks" title="complex networks">complex networks</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Chua%27s%20circuit" title=" Chua's circuit"> Chua's circuit</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=experimental%20synchronization" title=" experimental synchronization"> experimental synchronization</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=multiple%20users" title=" multiple users"> multiple users</a> </p> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/64455/experimental-networks-synchronization-of-chuas-circuit-in-different-topologies" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">Procedia</a> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/64455.pdf" target="_blank" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">PDF</a> <span class="bg-info text-light px-1 py-1 float-right rounded"> Downloads <span class="badge badge-light">349</span> </span> </div> </div> <div class="card paper-listing mb-3 mt-3"> <h5 class="card-header" style="font-size:.9rem"><span class="badge badge-info">210</span> Development of Extemporaneous Pediatric Syrup of Prednisone</h5> <div class="card-body"> <p class="card-text"><strong>Authors:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Amel%20Chenafa">Amel Chenafa</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Sihem%20Boulenouar"> Sihem Boulenouar</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Linda%20Aoued"> Linda Aoued</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Imane%20Sediri"> Imane Sediri</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Ismahan%20Djebbar"> Ismahan Djebbar</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Mohamed%20Adil%20Selka"> Mohamed Adil Selka</a> </p> <p class="card-text"><strong>Abstract:</strong></p> Introduction: The specialties intended for adults are often inadequate marketed for pediatric use, such as for a galenic form or in the dosage. For an industrial, development of a pediatric drug is confronted to various problems. So, the hospital pharmacies have to respond to adaptation needs of pharmaceutical forms for pediatric use. The objective of our work is to develop an oral form of prednisone for pediatric use since no adapted form to children is commercialized. Materials and Methods: Therefore an extemporaneous syrup of prednisone was prepared at the concentration of 0,5mg/ml from 5mg tablets and stored in amber glass bottles. Organoleptic and microbiological stability was studied in two temperatures: 5°C and 25°C, and evaluated at D0, D15, and D30. Results: No organoleptic changes have been detected on the syrup conserved at 25 and 5°C. The results show that there is no presence of bacteria, yeasts, and molds in the syrups stored at both temperatures during the analysis period. Conclusion: Sheltered from light, the developed syrup of prednisone remained stable at room temperature and/or refrigerator for 30 days. <p class="card-text"><strong>Keywords:</strong> <a
