Each and every one of us, from the political activists to the tech innovators to the customer service pros, is fully committed to our mission.</p>\n\n<p><strong>THE OPPORTUNITY:</strong></p>\n\n<p><strong>As a Senior Software Engineer at ActBlue, you will help shape the growth of our platform by working to improve ActBlue’s core systems, primarily our donation forms.</strong> In this role, you will perform front-end and full-stack work on a product team focused on growth and conversions. You will work in concert with other product teams, data teams, platform and ops teams, and the security team. Together with other stakeholders, you will identify and execute high-impact improvements that unlock new product opportunities and ensure the reliability, predictability, maintainability, and scalability of our platform.</p>\n\n<p><strong>WHAT YOU WILL DO:</strong></p>\n\n<ul>\n<li>Work with your team to architect, refactor, and improve our core systems in order to facilitate the delivery of features within our donor-facing contribution forms and admin-facing form creation flow.</li>\n<li>Guide the design and execution of technical solutions that prioritize the highest impact opportunities, balanced against effort, scope, and other trade-offs.</li>\n<li>Collaboratively develop and champion best practices and design patterns to improve the maintainability of the platform.</li>\n<li>Demonstrate technical leadership by writing excellent documentation, establishing effective monitoring, and fostering clear and audience-oriented communication.</li>\n<li>Grow as an individual and increase your impact on the success of your team and the progressive movement with support from your manager.</li>\n<li>Offer coaching and mentorship to other engineers and solicit it from them in turn. Uphold a culture where individuals are valued, heard, and engaged.</li>\n<li>Make yourself available to support supplementary projects as assigned, ensuring timely and efficient completion in line with organizational objectives and standards.</li>\n</ul>\n\n<p><strong>WHAT YOU BRING:</strong></p>\n\n<ul>\n<li>3-5+ years of relevant professional experience.</li>\n<li>Experience executing large projects that involve multiple engineers, complex requirements, and high ambiguity.</li>\n<li>Experience in React, Redux Ruby on Rails, as well as in developing and maintaining server-side web applications.</li>\n<li>Ability to communicate effectively with non-technical stakeholders and to collaboratively translate business requirements and strategic goals into technical solutions.</li>\n<li>A strong track record of delivering results that achieve business/organizational objectives.</li>\n<li>A deep understanding of industry practices that contribute to quality code delivery; familiarity with Cypress and other testing suites.</li>\n<li>Ability to write technical proposals that clearly articulate risks and trade-offs.</li>\n<li>A track record of effective collaboration with other engineers to develop abstractions and patterns that make it easy to build reliable, maintainable software.</li>\n<li>Eagerness to explore and refactor legacy code.</li>\n<li>A team player mentality. Travel may be required on a limited basis to attend all-staff and departmental retreats (1-2 times per year). Additional travel may be required for select positions.
