</span><span>Educational Resource Package on Singapore, a City in a Garden, and its Biodiversity’ </span><span>is a </span><span>comprehensive package of resource materials focusing on Singapore’s local flora and </span><span>fauna, designed </span><span>and produced specially for children </span><span>aged between </span><span>5 and 6 years </span><span>old. </span></p> <p style="margin-top: 4.8pt; margin-bottom: 0pt; margin-left: 0in;"><span><br /> </span></p> <p style="text-align: justify;"><img pre-school </span><span>children about the plants and animals found in our City in a Garden. We also hope to encourage </span><span>pre-school educators to use local examples of plants and animals when teaching their students about the rich biodiversity that surrounds them</span><span>.</span></p> <p style="margin-top: 3.84pt; margin-bottom: 0pt; margin-left: 0in;"><span> </span></p> <p style="margin-top: 3.84pt; margin-bottom: 0pt; margin-left: 0in;"><span>As Singapore moves towards becoming a City in Nature, these resources are still applicable and complementary to City in Nature vision.</span></p> <h2 style="text-align: justify;">Complementing the latest kindergarten curriculum</h2> <p style="margin-top: 0pt; margin-bottom: 0pt; margin-left: 0in;"><span>This virtual treasure chest of information is</span><span></span><span>in </span><span>line </span><span>with the 6 learning areas outlined in the</span><span> current kindergarten curriculum</span><span>,</span><span> Nurturing </span><span>Early Learners. The materials encourage young children in their discovery </span><span>of the w</span><span>orld (learning about nature</span><span>), </span><span>language and literacy </span><span>(storybook</span><span>, posters) and numeracy (posters).</span></p> <p style="margin-top: 0pt; margin-bottom: 0pt; margin-left: 0in;"><span><br /> </span></p> <h2 style="text-align: justify;">Providing the resources</h2> <p style="margin-top: 0pt; margin-bottom: 0pt; margin-left: 0in;"><span>All pre-schools licensed under the Early Childhood Development Agency (ECDA) have received complimentary sets </span><span>of </span><span>the educational resources between July and August 2015.
