Materials, Structural Dynamics, and Retrofitting under Extreme Conditions</h2> <p><strong>Aims and Scope<br></strong>The rapid evolution of computational engineering has transformed civil engineering practices, enabling more precise analysis, design, and optimization of infrastructure. As challenges such as extreme loading scenarios, material durability, and sustainable construction emerge, computational tools offer unparalleled opportunities to innovate and address these issues effectively. This special issue invites cutting-edge research and practical applications exploring the nexus of computational engineering and civil engineering, with a particular focus on concrete structures, retrofitting methods, material behavior under dynamic and quasi-static loads, and the integration of emerging materials into modern designs. Topics that address the behavior of civil structures under extreme conditions, such as high strain rates, seismic events, and blast impacts, are highly encouraged. The goal of this special issue is to provide a platform for researchers and practitioners to share novel computational methods, numerical modeling techniques, and experimental validations that advance our understanding of civil engineering materials and systems.
