Roller-Compacted Concrete (RCC) by using local materials and study the behavior of RCC properties by adding different amounts of solid waste (Polyethylene Terephthalate (PET) as <i>volume fraction</i> of cement content). To achieve this aims; Three laboratory tests were applied; Density, Compressive strength, and Flexural strength, that conducted to show the changes in the properties of concrete with existence of PET in the mixture. an approach for adding the PET in the concrete mixture. ranging from 1.0 % to 3.0 % with the variation of 1.0 %. Therefore, Three concrete mixtures was prepared to study the affect of adding (1.0 – 3.0 ) % of PET as <i>volume fraction</i> of cement content. On the other hand, one additional mixture designed without any inclusion of PET to be considered as a reference mixture. It can be observed in general from of the results that the increase in the percentage of Polyethylene Terephthalate (PET) in the mix leads to decrease in the compressive strength to 15 %. The geopolymers were prepared and synthesized using a combination of sodium hydroxide (NaOH) and sodium silicate (Na<sub>2</sub>SiO<sub>3</sub>) as activator whilst SPWA and FA (by percentage) as high silica-alumina resources. The compressive strength of geopolymer mortar utilizing SPWA/FA was investigated together with the quantitative chemical characteristic via X-ray fluorescence (XRF) and the X-ray diffractometer (XRD). It was observed that by substituting SPWA to partially replacing FA in geopolymer mortar affects the compressive strength as well as the chemical compositions of the mortars. SPWA can increase 5% of the compressive strength (at 10 wt% SPWA, GSPWA10) compared to the FA geopolymer based sample (control). Chemical characteristic of SPWA was first investigated by using X-ray fluorescence (XRF) followed by XRD analysis as a verification of the mineralogical phases present in the SPWAs. Based on the analysis, the major compositions of SPWA are found to be CaO and SiO<sub>2</sub> with other minor oxides such as MgO, Fe<sub>2</sub>O<sub>3</sub> and Al<sub>2</sub>O<sub>3</sub>. Both CaO and SiO<sub>2</sub> are very significant oxides that can be used as an alternative binder in the synthesis of ceramic materials and geopolymer. Moreover, the presence of these oxides are consistent for SPWA calcined from 500°C, 700°C and 1000°C. A HSC containing 100% ordinary Portland cement (OPC) and another HSC mix with 50% POFA as part of the binder were prepared. Due to the reduction in early strength of the HSC with the inclusion of high volume of POFA in the binary blended binder HSC, attempt was made to partially replace the OPC with SF at 5, 10, 15 and 20%, thus creating a ternary blended binder HSC. The results show that the compressive strength development of the HSC containing high volume of POFA was significantly improved with the inclusion of SF. The ternary blended binder HSC with 15% SF exhibited the highest increase in early age strength, even though it did not surpass the OPC-HSC, and it provided the highest strength at 7 and 28 days in comparison to other HSC mixes. Two alkali activated mortar mixtures, S<sub>1</sub> and S<sub>2</sub> were prepared using sodium silicate (Na<sub>2</sub>SiO<sub>3</sub>) with initial silica moduli, Ms of 3.3 and 2, respectively. The Na<sub>2</sub>SiO<sub>3</sub> was used in combination with sodium hydroxide (NaOH) with NaOH concentration of 10 M. The results indicate that the S<sub>2</sub> mortar mixture has higher strength than the S1 mortar mixture at all testing ages, with 28 day strength of 27.18 MPa and 32.8 MPa recorded by S<sub>1</sub> and S<sub>2</sub> mortar mixture, respectively. Hence, lower Ms leads to higher compressive strength. A total of 16 batches of mortar mixtures with cement:sand ratio of 1:2.5 and 1:2.75 were prepared using two types of treated coal bottom ash. The chemical compositions including the unburned carbon of coal bottom ash were also analyzed. In order to remove the excess unburned carbon which will affect the potential pozzolanic properties, the coal bottom ash was heated at 550 ± 50oC and 700 ± 50<sup>°</sup>C for 60 min in an electrical furnace.The results showed that compressive strength of mortar mixtures with cement:sand ratio of 1:2.5 and 1:2.75 containing treated coal bottom ash which was heated at 550oC results in an increase in compressive strength. At 10% and 20% of treated coal bottom ash replacement levels to Portland cement, the compressive strength of the mortar mixture was significantly improved at the age of 28 days. The compressive strength of the mortar mixtures at early ages gives lower strength as compared to the plain Portland cement mortar.
