and for another fourth<MH7243> they confessed<MH3034> and worshiped<MH2331c> the LORD<MH3068> their God<MH430>. <a href="/nehemiah/9-4.htm">4</a>Now on the Levites’<MH3881> platform<MH4608> stood<MH6965> Jeshua<MH3091>, Bani<MH1137>, Kadmiel<MH6934>, Shebaniah<MH7645>, Bunni<MH1138>, Sherebiah<MH8274>, Bani<MH1137>, and Chenani<MH3662>, and they cried<MH2199> out<MH2199> with a loud<MH1419> voice<MH6963> to the LORD<MH3068> their God<MH430>. <a href="/nehemiah/9-5.htm">5</a>Then the Levites<MH3881>, Jeshua<MH3091>, Kadmiel<MH6934>, Bani<MH1137>, Hashabneiah<MH2813>, Sherebiah<MH8274>, Hodiah<MH1941>, Shebaniah<MH7645>, and Pethahiah<MH6611> said<MH559>, “Arise<MH6965>, bless<MH1288> the LORD<MH3068> your God<MH430> forever<MH4480, 5769> and ever<MH5704, 5769>! <t>May Your glorious<MH3519b> name<MH8034> be blessed<MH1288> <t>And exalted<MH7311> above<MH5921> all<MH3605> blessing<MH1293> and praise<MH8416>! <poetry><a href="/nehemiah/9-6.htm">6</a>“You alone<MH905> are the LORD<MH3068>. <t>You have made<MH6213a> the heavens<MH8064>, <t>The heaven<MH8064> of heavens<MH8064> with all<MH3605> their <a href="#fn">[b]</a>lights<MH6635>, <t>The earth<MH776> and everything<MH3605> that is on it, <t>The seas<MH3220> and everything<MH3605> that is in them. <t>You give<MH2421a> life<MH2421a> to all<MH3605> of them, <t>And the heavenly<MH8064> <a href="#fn">[c]</a>lights<MH6635> bow<MH2331c> down<MH2331c> before You. <poetry><a href="/nehemiah/9-7.htm">7</a>“You are the LORD<MH3068> God<MH430>, <t>Who<MH834> chose<MH977> Abram<MH87> <t>And brought<MH3318> him out<MH3318> from Ur<MH218a> of the Chaldees<MH3778>, <t>And gave<MH7760> him the name<MH8034> Abraham<MH85>. <poetry><a href="/nehemiah/9-8.htm">8</a>“You found<MH4672> his heart<MH3824> faithful<MH539> before<MH6440> You, <t>And made<MH3772> a covenant<MH1285> with him <t>To give<MH5414> him the land<MH776> of the Canaanite<MH3669a>, <t>Of the Hittite<MH2850> and the Amorite<MH567>, <t>Of the Perizzite<MH6522>, the Jebusite<MH2983>, and the Girgashite<MH1622>— <t>To give<MH5414> it to his <a href="#fn">[d]</a>descendants<MH2233>. <t>And You have fulfilled<MH6965> Your <a href="#fn">[e]</a>promise<MH1697>, <t>Because<MH3588> You are righteous<MH6662>. <poetry><a href="/nehemiah/9-9.htm">9</a>“You saw<MH7200> the affliction<MH6040a> of our fathers<MH1> in Egypt<MH4714>, <t>And heard<MH8085> their cry<MH2201> by the <a href="#fn">[f]</a>Red<MH5488> Sea<MH3220>. <poetry><a href="/nehemiah/9-10.htm">10</a>“Then You performed<MH5414> signs<MH226> and wonders<MH4159> against Pharaoh<MH6547>, <t>Against all<MH3605> his servants<MH5650> and all<MH3605> the people<MH5971a> of his land<MH776>; <t>They <a href="#fn">[i]</a>became<MH7185, 6203> stubborn<MH7185, 6203> and would not listen<MH8085> to Your commandments<MH4687>. <poetry><a href="/nehemiah/9-17.htm">17</a>“They refused<MH3985> to listen<MH8085>, <t>And did not remember<MH2142> Your wondrous<MH6381> deeds<MH6381> which<MH834> You performed<MH6213a> among<MH5973> them; <t>So they became<MH7185, 6203> stubborn<MH7185, 6203> and appointed<MH5414> a leader<MH7218> to return<MH7725> to their slavery<MH5659> in <a href="#fn">[j]</a>Egypt<MH4714>. <t>But You are a God<MH433> of forgiveness<MH5547>, <t>Gracious<MH2587> and compassionate<MH7349>, <t>Slow<MH750> to anger<MH639> and abounding<MH7227a> in <a href="#fn">[k]</a>mercy<MH2617a>; <t>And You did not abandon<MH5800a> them. <poetry><a href="/nehemiah/9-18.htm">18</a>“Even<MH637> when<MH3588> they made<MH6213a> for themselves <t>A calf<MH5695> of cast<MH4541a> metal<MH4541a> <t>And said<MH559>, ‘This<MH2088> is your <a href="#fn">[l]</a>god<MH430> <t>Who<MH834> brought<MH5927> you up<MH5927> from Egypt<MH4714>,’ <t>And committed<MH6213a> great<MH1419> blasphemies<MH5007b>, <poetry><a href="/nehemiah/9-19.htm">19</a>You, in Your great<MH7227a> compassion<MH7356>, <t>Did not abandon<MH5800a> them in the wilderness<MH4057b>; <t>Their clothes<MH8008> did not wear<MH1086> out<MH1086>, nor<MH3808> did their feet<MH7272> swell<MH1216> up. <poetry><a href="/nehemiah/9-22.htm">22</a>“You also gave<MH5414> them kingdoms<MH4467> and peoples<MH5971a>, <t>And allotted<MH2505a> them to them as a <a href="#fn">[m]</a>boundary<MH6285>. <t>They took<MH3423> possession<MH3423> of the land<MH776> of Sihon<MH5511> <a href="#fn">[n]</a>the king<MH4428> of Heshbon<MH2809> <t>And the land<MH776> of Og<MH5747> the king<MH4428> of Bashan<MH1316>. <poetry><a href="/nehemiah/9-23.htm">23</a>“You made<MH7235a> their sons<MH1121> as numerous<MH7235a> as the stars<MH3556> of heaven<MH8064>, <t>And You brought<MH935> them into the land<MH776> <t>Which<MH834> You had told<MH559> their fathers<MH1> to enter<MH935> and possess<MH3423>. <poetry><a href="/nehemiah/9-24.htm">24</a>“So their sons<MH1121> entered<MH935> and took<MH3423> possession<MH3423> of the land<MH776>. <t>And You subdued<MH3665> before<MH6440> them the inhabitants<MH3427> of the land<MH776>, the Canaanites<MH3669a>, <t>And You handed<MH5414, 3027> them over<MH514> to them, with their kings<MH4428> and the peoples<MH5971a> of the land<MH776>, <t>To do<MH6213a> with them <a href="#fn">[o]</a>as they desired<MH7522>. <poetry><a href="/nehemiah/9-25.htm">25</a>“They captured<MH3920> fortified<MH1219> cities<MH5892b> and a <a href="#fn">[p]</a>fertile<MH8082a> land<MH127>. <t>They took<MH3423> possession<MH3423> of houses<MH1004> full<MH4392> of every<MH3605> good<MH2898> thing<MH2898>, <t>Carved<MH2672> out<MH2672> cisterns<MH953a>, vineyards<MH3754>, olive<MH2132> groves<MH2132>, <t>Fruit<MH3978> trees<MH6086> in abundance<MH7230>. <t>So they ate<MH398>, were filled<MH7646> and put<MH8080> on<MH8080> fat<MH8080>, <t>And lived<MH5727> luxuriously<MH5727> in Your great<MH1419> goodness<MH2898>. <poetry><a href="/nehemiah/9-26.htm">26</a>“But they became<MH4784> rebellious<MH4784> and revolted<MH4775> against You, <t>And threw<MH7993> Your Law<MH8451> behind<MH310> their backs<MH1458> <t>And killed<MH2026> Your prophets<MH5030> who<MH834> had admonished<MH5749b> them <t>In order to bring<MH7725> them back<MH7725> to You, <t>And they committed<MH6213a> great<MH1419> blasphemies<MH5007b>. <poetry><a href="/nehemiah/9-27.htm">27</a>“Therefore You handed<MH5414, 3027> them over<MH5414> to their enemies<MH6862c> who oppressed<MH6887a> them, <t>But when they cried<MH6817> out<MH6817> to You in the time<MH6256> of their distress<MH6869a>, <t>You heard<MH8085> from heaven<MH8064>, and according to Your great<MH7227a> compassion<MH7356> <t>You gave<MH5414> them <a href="#fn">[q]</a>people<MH3467> who saved<MH3467> them from the hand<MH3027> of their enemies<MH6862c>. <poetry><a href="/nehemiah/9-28.htm">28</a>“But as soon as they had<MH5117> rest<MH5117>, they did<MH6213a> evil<MH7451b> again<MH7725> before<MH6440> You;
