Dr. Jackson also conducts teaching and research in the area of naval architecture. In 2002, he became associate professor of mechanical engineering and faculty associate in the Centre for Manufacturing Research, Centre for Electric Power, and Centre for Water Resources and Utilization at Tennessee Technological University and a faculty associate at Oak Ridge National Laboratory. In 2015 and 2020, Dr. Jackson was awarded the Certificate and Diploma in Naval Architecture from the Lloyd’s Maritime Academy, London, UK. He also conducts work on aspects of laser welding and deposition of thick film coatings in the shipbuilding process. After gaining his PhD at the University of Bath in Chemistry, he worked at different academic institutions, University of Swansea, TU Delft, The University of Birmingham and India Institute of Technology, Bombay, University of Cambridge and Imperial College London. Siva has 20 years of industrial experience (TATA, Talga, CAMI, VEMS, Ceylon Graphite and AM) in various research fields; metallurgy, protective coatings, energy storage in the automotive industry, smart coatings and nanotechnology, synthesis, and applications of graphene. Dr Bohm has published 40 patents and 98 scientific publications. He is a Fellow of the Royal Society of Chemistry and a Fellow of Technical Surface Coatings. Previously, he worked as a Technical Consulting Engineer for the Dubai Airport Extension Project (Terminal 2) and as an Assistant Professor in the Aeronautical Engineering and Aviation Management Department of Nehru College of Aeronautics and Applied Sciences in India. His experience as an academician has played a significant role in developing the interest, involvement, and creativity of students on a widespread platform. Besides academics, Sarath has participated in various prestigious projects such as Applications of Universal Coupling in Aircraft with Coimbatore Civil Aerodrome, Development of Strapdown Inertial Navigation Software for Launch Vehicles with the Indian Space Research Organization, Newly Developed Cleaning Equipment for Aircraft with Hindustan Aeronautics Limited, Solar Powered Unmanned Aerial Vehicle with Dubai Electricity & Water Authority, and Satellite Trajectory Analysis with the UAE Space Agency, to name a few.
