<span class="reftext"><a href="/1_john/5-6.htm"><b>6</b></a></span>This<MG3778> is the One who came<MG2064> by water<MG5204> and blood<MG129>, Jesus<MG2424> Christ<MG5547>; not <span class="fn"><a href="#fn">[e]</a></span>with the water<MG5204> only<MG3440>, but <span class="fn"><a href="#fn">[f]</a></span>with the water<MG5204> and <span class="fn"><a href="#fn">[g]</a></span>with the blood<MG129>. It is the Spirit<MG4151> who testifies<MG3140>, because<MG3754> the Spirit<MG4151> is the truth<MG225>. <span class="reftext"><a href="/1_john/5-7.htm"><b>7</b></a></span>For there<MG1510> are three<MG5140> that testify<MG3140>: <span class="reftext"><a href="/1_john/5-8.htm"><b>8</b></a></span><span class="fn"><a href="#fn">[h]</a></span>the Spirit<MG4151> and the water<MG5204> and the blood<MG129>; and the three<MG5140> are <span class="fn"><a href="#fn">[i]</a></span>in agreement<MG1520>. <span class="reftext"><a href="/1_john/5-9.htm"><b>9</b></a></span>If<MG1487> we receive<MG2983> the testimony<MG3141> of people<MG444>, the testimony<MG3141> of God<MG2316> is greater<MG3173>; for the testimony<MG3141> of God<MG2316> is this<MG3778>, that He has testified<MG3140> concerning<MG4012> His Son<MG5207>. <span class="reftext"><a href="/1_john/5-10.htm"><b>10</b></a></span>The one who believes<MG4100> in the Son<MG5207> of God<MG2316> has<MG2192> the testimony<MG3141> in himself<MG846>; the one who does not believe<MG4100> God<MG2316> has made<MG4160> Him a liar<MG5583>, because<MG3754> he has not believed<MG4100> in the testimony<MG3141> that God<MG2316> has given<MG3140> concerning<MG4012> His Son<MG5207>. <span class="reftext"><a href="/1_john/5-11.htm"><b>11</b></a></span>And the testimony<MG3141> is this<MG3778>, that God<MG2316> has given<MG1325> us eternal<MG166> life<MG2222>, and this<MG3778> life<MG2222> is in His Son<MG5207>. <span class="reftext"><a href="/1_john/5-12.htm"><b>12</b></a></span>The one who has<MG2192> the Son<MG5207> has<MG2192> the life<MG2222>; the one who does not have<MG2192> the Son<MG5207> of God<MG2316> does not have<MG2192> the life<MG2222>. <p class="hdg">This Is Written That You May Know</p><p class="paragraph"><span class="reftext"><a href="/1_john/5-13.htm"><b>13</b></a></span>These<MG3778> things<MG3778> I have written<MG1125> to you who believe<MG4100> in the name<MG3686> of the Son<MG5207> of God<MG2316>, so<MG2443> that<MG2443> you may know<MG3609a> that you have<MG2192> eternal<MG166> life<MG2222>. <span class="reftext"><a href="/1_john/5-14.htm"><b>14</b></a></span>This<MG3778> is the confidence<MG3954> which<MG3739> we have<MG2192> <span class="fn"><a href="#fn">[j]</a></span>before<MG4314> Him, that, if<MG1437> we ask<MG154> anything<MG5100> according<MG2596> to His will<MG2307>, He hears<MG191> us. <span class="reftext"><a href="/1_john/5-15.htm"><b>15</b></a></span>And if<MG1437> we know<MG3609a> that He hears<MG191> us <i>in</i> whatever<MG3739, 1437> we ask<MG154>, we know<MG3609a> that we have<MG2192> the requests<MG155> which<MG3739> we have asked<MG154> from Him. <p class="paragraph"><span class="reftext"><a href="/1_john/5-16.htm"><b>16</b></a></span>If<MG1437> anyone<MG5100> sees<MG3708> his brother<MG80> <i>or sister</i> <span class="fn"><a href="#fn">[k]</a></span>committing<MG264> a sin<MG266> not <i>leading</i> to death<MG2288>, he shall ask<MG154> and <span class="fn"><a href="#fn">[l]</a></span><i>God</i> will, for him, give<MG1325> life<MG2222> to those<MG3588> who commit<MG264> sin<MG264> not <i>leading</i> to death<MG2288>. There is sin<MG266> <i>leading</i> to death<MG2288>; I am not saying<MG3004> that he should ask<MG2065> about that<MG1565>. <span class="reftext"><a href="/1_john/5-17.htm"><b>17</b></a></span>All<MG3956> unrighteousness<MG93> is sin<MG266>, and there is sin<MG266> not <i>leading</i> to death<MG2288>. <p class="paragraph"><span class="reftext"><a href="/1_john/5-18.htm"><b>18</b></a></span>We know<MG3609a> that no<MG3956, 3756> one<MG3956> who has been born<MG1080> of God<MG2316> <span class="fn"><a href="#fn">[m]</a></span>sins<MG264>; but He who was born<MG1080> of God<MG2316> keeps<MG5083> him, and the evil<MG4190> one<MG4190> does not touch<MG681> him. <span class="reftext"><a href="/1_john/5-19.htm"><b>19</b></a></span>We know<MG3609a> that we are of God<MG2316>, and that the whole<MG3650> world<MG2889> lies<MG2749> in <i>the power of</i> the evil<MG4190> one<MG4190>. <span class="reftext"><a href="/1_john/5-20.htm"><b>20</b></a></span>And we know<MG3609a> that the Son<MG5207> of God<MG2316> has<MG2240> come<MG2240>, and has given<MG1325> us understanding<MG1271> so<MG2443> that<MG2443> we may know<MG1097> Him who<MG3588> is true<MG228>; and we are in Him who<MG3588> is true<MG228>, in His Son<MG5207> Jesus<MG2424> Christ<MG5547>.
