Funders play a crucial role in advancing sustainable business models and markets, as the UN Global Compact does not receive funding from the regular budget of the United Nations.</p><h2>Government Group<br></h2><p>The UN Global Compact is honoured to count on the generous support from Governments that have over time made contributions to the Global Compact Trust Fund.</p><p>The UN Global Compact Government Group brings together key Government supporters of the UN Global Compact, which provide first and foremost political support, as well as financial contributions and programmatic engagement. The current members of the Government Group are China, Colombia, Costa Rica, Denmark, Finland, France, Germany, Italy, Mexico, Kingdom of the Netherlands, Norway, Poland, Portugal, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, United Kingdom and United States of America. The UN Global Compact warmly welcomes the expression of interest from other Governments to join the Government Group.</p><p>In addition to year-long engagement with the Global Compact Office, the Government Group meets twice annually at capital level to provide strategic input to the coordination of the UN Global Compact, as well as to ensure the effective and efficient use of the contributions that Governments have provided to the Global Compact Trust Fund. The Chair of the Government Group rotates on an annual basis, and serves as a member of the UN Global Compact Board.</p><p>Government Group members also gain access to the full range of UN Global Compact initiatives and tools, including our various Action Platforms, the Academy and the Expert Group.</p> <h2>Private Sector</h2> <p> Annual financial contributions from business participants of the UN Global Compact are made to the Foundation for the Global Compact and used to deliver programmes and participant services in collaboration with Global Compact Local Networks. BOA is responsible for the audit of the United Nations Trust Fund and its report is available at the end of every second year.</p><p>Incorporated under the laws of New York State as a not-for-profit corporation, the Foundation for the Global Compact is exempt from tax under section 501(c)(3) of the US Internal Revenue Service and qualifies for maximum charitable contribution deductions by donors where applicable. Our US Federal Tax Identification Number is <strong>16-1756484</strong>.
