Each aircraft's characteristics are defined by two configuration files:</p> <ul> <li>A <a href="/extension/cfg">.CFG</a> file named <span class="filename">aircraftname.cfg</span></li> <li>An AIR file named <span class="filename">aircraftname.air</span></li> </ul> <p>While the CFG file is a <a href="https://techterms.com/definition/plaintext" target="techterms">plain text</a> file, which can be opened and edited in any text editor (as well as specialized aircraft configuration editors), the AIR file is a binary file, which is not meant to be directly edited by players.
