if<MG1487> <i>that</i> were not <i>so,</i> <span class="fn"><a href="#fn">[c]</a></span>I would have told<MG3004> you, because<MG3754> I am going<MG4198> <i>there</i> to prepare<MG2090> a place<MG5117> for you. <span class="reftext"><a href="/john/14-3.htm"><b>3</b></a></span>And if<MG1437> I go<MG4198> and prepare<MG2090> a place<MG5117> for you, I am coming<MG2064> again<MG3825> and will take<MG3880> you to Myself<MG1683>, so<MG2443> that<MG2443> where<MG3699> I am<MG1510>, <i>there</i> you also<MG2532> will be. <span class="reftext"><a href="/john/14-4.htm"><b>4</b></a></span>And you know<MG3609a> the way<MG3598> where<MG3699> I am going<MG5217>.” <span class="reftext"><a href="/john/14-5.htm"><b>5</b></a></span>Thomas<MG2381> *said<MG3004> to Him, “Lord<MG2962>, we do not know<MG3609a> where<MG4226> You are going<MG5217>; how<MG4459> do we know<MG3609a> the way<MG3598>?” <span class="reftext"><a href="/john/14-6.htm"><b>6</b></a></span>Jesus<MG2424> *said<MG3004> to him, “I am<MG1510> the way<MG3598>, and the truth<MG225>, and the life<MG2222>; no<MG3762> one<MG3762> comes<MG2064> to the Father<MG3962> except<MG1487, 3361> through<MG1223> Me. <p class="hdg">Oneness with the Father</p><span class="reftext"><a href="/john/14-7.htm"><b>7</b></a></span>If<MG1487> you <span class="fn"><a href="#fn">[d]</a></span>had known<MG1097> Me, you would have known<MG3609a> My Father<MG3962> also<MG2532>; from now<MG737> on you know<MG1097> Him, and have seen<MG3708> Him.” <p class="paragraph"><span class="reftext"><a href="/john/14-8.htm"><b>8</b></a></span>Philip<MG5376> *said<MG3004> to Him, “Lord<MG2962>, show<MG1166> us the Father<MG3962>, and it is enough<MG714> for us.” <span class="reftext"><a href="/john/14-9.htm"><b>9</b></a></span>Jesus<MG2424> *said<MG3004> to him, “Have I been<MG1510> with <span class="fn"><a href="#fn">[e]</a></span>you for so<MG5118> long<MG5118> a time<MG5550>, and <i>yet</i> <span class="fn"><a href="#fn">[f]</a></span>you have not come to know<MG1097> Me, Philip<MG5376>? The one who has seen<MG3708> Me has seen<MG3708> the Father<MG3962>; how<MG4459> <i>can</i> you say<MG3004>, ‘Show<MG1166> us the Father<MG3962>’? <span class="reftext"><a href="/john/14-10.htm"><b>10</b></a></span>Do you not believe<MG4100> that I am in the Father<MG3962>, and the Father<MG3962> is in Me? The words<MG4487> that I say<MG3004> to you I do not speak<MG2980> on My own<MG1683>, but the Father<MG3962>, as He remains<MG3306> in Me, does<MG4160> His works<MG2041>. <span class="reftext"><a href="/john/14-11.htm"><b>11</b></a></span>Believe<MG4100> Me that I am in the Father<MG3962> and the Father<MG3962> is in Me; otherwise<MG1490b> believe<MG4100> because<MG1223> of the works<MG2041> themselves<MG846>. <span class="reftext"><a href="/john/14-12.htm"><b>12</b></a></span>Truly<MG281>, truly<MG281> I say<MG3004> to you, the one who believes<MG4100> in Me, the works<MG2041> that I do<MG4160>, he will do<MG4160> also<MG2548>; and greater<MG3173> <i>works</i> than these<MG3778> he will do<MG4160>; because<MG3754> I am going<MG4198> to the Father<MG3962>. <span class="reftext"><a href="/john/14-13.htm"><b>13</b></a></span>And whatever<MG3739> you ask<MG154> in My name<MG3686>, this<MG3778> I will do<MG4160>, so<MG2443> that<MG2443> the Father<MG3962> may be glorified<MG1392> in the Son<MG5207>. <span class="reftext"><a href="/john/14-14.htm"><b>14</b></a></span>If<MG1437> you ask<MG154> Me anything<MG5100> in My name<MG3686>, I will do<MG4160> <i>it.</i> <p class="paragraph"><span class="reftext"><a href="/john/14-15.htm"><b>15</b></a></span>“If<MG1437> you love<MG25> Me, you will keep<MG5083> My commandments<MG1785>. <p class="hdg">The Holy Spirit</p><span class="reftext"><a href="/john/14-16.htm"><b>16</b></a></span>I will ask<MG2065> the Father<MG3962>, and He will give<MG1325> you another<MG243> <span class="fn"><a href="#fn">[g]</a></span>Helper<MG3875>, so<MG2443> that<MG2443> He may be with you forever<MG165>; <span class="reftext"><a href="/john/14-17.htm"><b>17</b></a></span><i>the Helper is</i> the Spirit<MG4151> of truth<MG225>, whom<MG3739> the world<MG2889> cannot<MG1410, 3756> receive<MG2983>, because<MG3754> it does not see<MG2334> Him or<MG3761> know<MG1097> <i>Him; but</i> you know<MG1097> Him because<MG3754> He remains<MG3306> with you and will be in you. <p class="paragraph"><span class="reftext"><a href="/john/14-18.htm"><b>18</b></a></span>“I will not leave<MG863> you as orphans<MG3737>; I am coming<MG2064> to you. <span class="reftext"><a href="/john/14-19.htm"><b>19</b></a></span><span class="fn"><a href="#fn">[h]</a></span>After<MG2089> a little<MG3398> while<MG3398>, the world<MG2889> no<MG3765> longer<MG3765> <i>is going to</i> see<MG2334> Me, but you <i>are going to</i> see<MG2334> Me; because<MG3754> I live<MG2198>, you also<MG2532> will live<MG2198>. <span class="reftext"><a href="/john/14-20.htm"><b>20</b></a></span>On that day<MG2250> you will know<MG1097> that I <i>am</i> in My Father<MG3962>, and you <i>are</i> in Me, and I in you. <span class="reftext"><a href="/john/14-21.htm"><b>21</b></a></span>The one who has<MG2192> My commandments<MG1785> and keeps<MG5083> them is the one<MG1565> who loves<MG25> Me; and the one who loves<MG25> Me will be loved<MG25> by My Father<MG3962>, and I will love<MG25> him and will reveal<MG1718> Myself<MG1683> to him.” <span class="reftext"><a href="/john/14-22.htm"><b>22</b></a></span>Judas<MG2455> (not Iscariot<MG2469>) *said<MG3004> to Him, “Lord<MG2962>, what<MG5101> has happened<MG1096> that You are<MG3195> going<MG3195> to<MG3195> reveal<MG1718> Yourself<MG4572> to us and not to the world<MG2889>?” <span class="reftext"><a href="/john/14-23.htm"><b>23</b></a></span>Jesus<MG2424> answered<MG611> and said<MG3004> to him, “If<MG1437> anyone<MG5100> loves<MG25> Me, he will follow<MG5083> My word<MG3056>; and My Father<MG3962> will love<MG25> him, and We will come<MG2064> to him and make<MG4160> <i>Our</i> dwelling<MG3438> with him. <span class="reftext"><a href="/john/14-24.htm"><b>24</b></a></span>The one who does not love<MG25> Me does not follow<MG5083> My words<MG3056>;
