This concept is evident throughout the Scriptures, where God, leaders, or individuals assign tasks, territories, or duties to others according to divine or human authority.

Divine Assignments

God frequently assigns roles and responsibilities to individuals and nations according to His sovereign will. One of the most notable examples is the assignment of the Promised Land to the Israelites. In Deuteronomy 32:8 , it is written, "When the Most High gave the nations their inheritance, when He divided the sons of man, He set the boundaries of the peoples according to the number of the sons of God." This passage highlights God's authority in assigning territories to nations.

Another significant divine assignment is seen in the calling of prophets. For instance, Jeremiah was assigned as a prophet to the nations before his birth. Jeremiah 1:5 states, "Before I formed you in the womb I knew you, and before you were born I set you apart and appointed you as a prophet to the nations."

Human Assignments

In addition to divine assignments, the Bible also records instances where human leaders assign tasks or roles to others. Moses, under God's direction, assigned the Levites to specific duties related to the tabernacle. Numbers 3:6-8 describes this assignment: "Bring the tribe of Levi and present them to Aaron the priest to assist him. They are to perform duties for him and for the whole congregation before the Tent of Meeting, attending to the service of the tabernacle."

Similarly, in the New Testament, the apostles assigned roles within the early church to ensure the effective functioning of the community. In Acts 6:3 , the apostles instructed, "Therefore, brothers, select from among you seven men confirmed to be full of the Spirit and wisdom. We will turn this responsibility over to them."

Personal Assignments

The Bible also speaks to personal assignments, where individuals recognize and embrace their God-given roles. The Apostle Paul often referred to his assignment as a preacher and apostle to the Gentiles. In Romans 1:1 , Paul introduces himself as "a servant of Christ Jesus, called to be an apostle, and set apart for the gospel of God."

Inheritance and Property Assignments

The concept of assigns extends to the distribution of inheritance and property. In the Old Testament, the division of the land among the tribes of Israel was a significant event. Joshua 14:2 notes, "Their inheritance was assigned by lot for the nine and a half tribes, as the LORD had commanded through Moses."

Furthermore, the laws concerning inheritance, such as those found in Numbers 27:8-11, outline how property should be assigned to family members, ensuring the continuation of family lineage and the preservation of tribal lands.

Spiritual Assignments

Believers are also assigned spiritual gifts and roles within the body of Christ. In 1 Corinthians 12:7 , Paul writes, "Now to each one the manifestation of the Spirit is given for the common good." This passage emphasizes that spiritual gifts are assigned by the Holy Spirit for the edification of the church.

In summary, the concept of "assigns" in the Bible encompasses a wide range of applications, from divine appointments and human delegations to personal callings and the distribution of inheritance. Each assignment reflects God's order and purpose, whether in the governance of His people, the organization of His church, or the stewardship of His creation.
Greek
4704. spoudazo -- to make haste, hence to give diligence
... be swift (go fast, be ); (figuratively) to move speedily by showing ( applying oneself);
acting ( commitment) to accomplish all that God assigns through faith ...
//strongsnumbers.com/greek2/4704.htm - 7k
422. anepaischuntos -- not to be put to shame
... 422 (from 1 "not" and 1870, "ashamed") -- properly, not ashamed, because having
discharged responsibility which accomplishes what God assigns (note the prefix ...
//strongsnumbers.com/greek2/422.htm - 7k
2004. epitasso -- to arrange upon, ie to command
... 2004 (from 1909 , ", fitting," which intensifies 5021 , "to place, arrange") --
properly, to which "orders" things, ie assigns them where they so the parts ".". ...
//strongsnumbers.com/greek2/2004.htm - 7k
Library

Whether the Philosopher Suitably Assigns the Species of Anger?
... OF ANGER (EIGHT ARTICLES) Whether the Philosopher suitably assigns the species
of anger?
