Jonathan Rice agrees. The man behind that mask ran the 1-mile Darth Valley Challenge on Sunday and says on his <a href="https://web.archive.org/web/20130810110723/http://darthvalley.com/" target="_blank">website </a>that, "This is a ludicrously dangerous endeavor. I don't support you doing it. I don't even really support me doing it."</p> <p>Rice <em>has </em>done it, however, for four years now. Going full-Darth for his annual run through some of the hottest conditions on the planet. He completed this year's run in a very impressive 6 minutes and 36 seconds.</p> <p>But he didn't just roll out of the <a href="https://web.archive.org/web/20130810110723/https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/TIE_fighter" target="_blank">TIE Fighter</a>, slap on some black tights and go for a run. Rice says he trains all year for this by running marathons and doing heat training, which includes extended sauna stays and non-costumed Death Valley runs. On his website, he implores people not to attempt a similar feat without proper training. "I have literally run past the grave markers of people who have dropped dead from heat exhaustion here," he writes.</p> <p>In an email to HLN, Rice explains that "the rangers are down to two people in Death Valley and they need unprepared copycats like they need a hole in the head. So I try and support their excellent work by making sure this is entertaining, but that viewers understand it's not something to emulate."</p> <p>We get it.
