Social\r\nstart-ups, social enterprises or Corporate Social Responsibility\r\noperations carried out by traditional companies are quintessential\r\nexamples in this regard. This paper analyses these kinds of initiatives\r\nin order to discover the main characteristics of social business models\r\nand to provide insights to social entrepreneurs for developing or\r\nimproving their strategies. The research is conducted through the\r\nintegration of literature review and case study analysis and, thanks to\r\nthe recognition of the importance of both profits and social impacts\r\nas the key success factors for a social business model, proposes a\r\nframework for identifying indicators suitable for measuring the social\r\nimpacts generated.","references":"[1] BEPA, \"Social Innovation.
