Not just that, but apparently there won't even be prototypes to play with at the event - the report says the glasses will be shown "in the form of a video or image".</p> <img class="inline-image" width="1200" height="791" alt="AI still can't spell" src="https://fdn.gsmarena.com/imgroot/news/24/12/samsung-ar-glasses/inline/-1200/gsmarena_001.jpg"> <font><strong>AI still can't spell</strong></font> <p>So more like a teaser then, similar to what happened with the <a href="samsung_teases_galaxy_ring-news-61265.php">Galaxy Ring at Unpacked in January</a> this year. The <a href="samsung_galaxy_ring_review-news-64252.php">smart ring</a> subsequently went on to be <a href="samsung_galaxy_ring_fully_detailed-news-63639.php">fully announced in July</a>.</p> <p>And would you believe it - according to "the industry", the finalized XR glasses will be released in the third quarter of next year, which is July to September. So Samsung definitely seems to be reprising its own strategy here.</p> <p>Samsung's glasses are allegedly going to weigh only 50g and look like a typical pair of glasses. They will have a payment function (somehow), will use AI (of course), and will feature both facial recognition (this one probably for those payments) and gesture recognition (supposedly to navigate the UI).
