with great pleasure to announce the new Editor-in-Chief (EiC) for the <a href="/publications/ieee-transactions-on-artificial-intelligence"><em>IEEE Transactions on Artificial Intelligence</em> (<em>IEEE TAI</em>)</a>, Prof. Jun Wang.</p> <p>Prof. Wang will commence his term as EiC for IEEE TAI from the 1st of January, 2025 till the 31st of December, 2026. The memorandum of understanding governing the operations of TAI allows the term for the EiC to be renewed once. Although Prof. Wang is very well-known to our community, for our younger generations, a bio for Prof. Wang is included below.</p> <p>Prof. Kay Chen Tan, IEEE CIS VP Publications</p> <p>Jun Wang is a chair professor of computational intelligence at City University of Hong Kong since 2016. Prior to this position, he held various academic positions at Dalian University of Technology, Case Western Reserve University, University of North Dakota, and the Chinese University of Hong Kong. He held various short-term visiting positions at USAF Armstrong Laboratory and RIKEN Brain Science Institute. Prof. Wang received a bachelor’s degree and a master’s degree from Dalian University of Technology and his Ph.D. degree from Case Western Reserve University. He published about 330 journal papers. He was the Editor-in-Chief of the IEEE Transactions on Cybernetics in 2014-2019. Prof. Wang served as an Associate Editor of three IEEE journals, a member of the editorial board of Neural Networks, and a member of the editorial advisory board of the International Journal of Neural Systems. He was the General Chair of the 13th/25th International Conference on Neural Information Processing and the 2008 IEEE World Congress on Computational Intelligence. Prof. Wang is an IEEE Life Fellow, IAPR Fellow, and a foreign member of Academia Europaea. He was a Distinguished Lecturer in two IEEE societies. Prof. Wang served as President of the Asia Pacific Neural Network Assembly (APNNA) and contributed to many committees including the IEEE Fellow Committee, IEEE Computational Intelligence Society Awards Committee, and IEEE Systems, Man, and Cybernetics Society Board of Governors.
