I AM LORD JEHOVAH your God. <A name="6"></a><span class="reftext"><a href="/parallel/leviticus/18-5.htm#aramaic"><b>5</b></a></span>Keep my commands and my judgments, for a son of man who does them lives in them; I AM LORD JEHOVAH.<p> <A name="7"></a><span class="reftext"><a href="/parallel/leviticus/18-6.htm#aramaic"><b>6</b></a></span>Each man with anyone near his flesh you shall not touch to uncover nakedness; I AM LORD JEHOVAH. <A name="8"></a><span class="reftext"><a href="/parallel/leviticus/18-7.htm#aramaic"><b>7</b></a></span>Do not reveal the nakedness of your father or the nakedness of your mother; she is your mother; do not reveal her nakedness. <A name="9"></a><span class="reftext"><a href="/parallel/leviticus/18-8.htm#aramaic"><b>8</b></a></span>Do not expose the nakedness of the wife of your father, for it is the nakedness of your father. <A name="10"></a><span class="reftext"><a href="/parallel/leviticus/18-9.htm#aramaic"><b>9</b></a></span>The nakedness of your sister, the daughter of your father or the daughter of your mother who is the child of your father or of another man, do not reveal her nakedness. <A name="11"></a><span class="reftext"><a href="/parallel/leviticus/18-10.htm#aramaic"><b>10</b></a></span>The nakedness of the daughter of your son or of the daughter of your daughter, do not expose their nakedness because it is your nakedness. <A name="12"></a><span class="reftext"><a href="/parallel/leviticus/18-11.htm#aramaic"><b>11</b></a></span>The nakedness of the daughter of the wife of your father who is the child of your father, she is your sister; do not reveal her nakedness. <A name="13"></a><span class="reftext"><a href="/parallel/leviticus/18-12.htm#aramaic"><b>12</b></a></span>Do not uncover the nakedness of the sister of your father, for she is the close relative of your father. <A name="14"></a><span class="reftext"><a href="/parallel/leviticus/18-13.htm#aramaic"><b>13</b></a></span>Do not expose the nakedness of the sister of your mother, because she is the close relative of your mother. <A name="15"></a><span class="reftext"><a href="/parallel/leviticus/18-14.htm#aramaic"><b>14</b></a></span>Do not reveal the nakedness of the wife of your father's brother and do not come near his wife, because she is the wife of your father's brother; do not reveal her nakedness. <A name="16"></a><span class="reftext"><a href="/parallel/leviticus/18-15.htm#aramaic"><b>15</b></a></span>Do not reveal the nakedness of your daughter in law, because she is the wife of your son; do not reveal her nakedness. <A name="17"></a><span class="reftext"><a href="/parallel/leviticus/18-16.htm#aramaic"><b>16</b></a></span>Do not expose the nakedness of the wife of your brother, for her nakedness is your brother’s. <A name="18"></a><span class="reftext"><a href="/parallel/leviticus/18-17.htm#aramaic"><b>17</b></a></span>The nakedness of a woman and her daughter do not expose, nor of the daughter of her son, nor of the daughter of her daughter; do not come near to expose their nakedness; they are close relatives and it is evil. <A name="19"></a><span class="reftext"><a href="/parallel/leviticus/18-18.htm#aramaic"><b>18</b></a></span>And do not take a woman with her sister and grieve her and expose her nakedness upon her in her life.<p> <A name="20"></a><span class="reftext"><a href="/parallel/leviticus/18-19.htm#aramaic"><b>19</b></a></span>And a woman in menstruation of her uncleanness shall not present herself to uncover her nakedness. <A name="21"></a><span class="reftext"><a href="/parallel/leviticus/18-20.htm#aramaic"><b>20</b></a></span>And do not expel the seed of your copulation into the wife of your neighbor and be defiled with her. <A name="22"></a><span class="reftext"><a href="/parallel/leviticus/18-21.htm#aramaic"><b>21</b></a></span>And do not expel from your seed to impregnate a female stranger and do not pollute the name of your God; I AM LORD JEHOVAH. <A name="23"></a><span class="reftext"><a href="/parallel/leviticus/18-22.htm#aramaic"><b>22</b></a></span>And do not lie down with a male in the lying down of a woman, because it is defiled. <A name="24"></a><span class="reftext"><a href="/parallel/leviticus/18-23.htm#aramaic"><b>23</b></a></span>And do not expel your seed into any beast and be defiled with it, and a woman shall not stand before a beast that she be mounted by it, because that is an abomination.<p> <A name="25"></a><span class="reftext"><a href="/parallel/leviticus/18-24.htm#aramaic"><b>24</b></a></span>Do not be defiled in any of these things, because in these things all the nations are defiled which I drove out from before you: <A name="26"></a><span class="reftext"><a href="/parallel/leviticus/18-25.htm#aramaic"><b>25</b></a></span>And the land was defiled and I repaid its evil upon it and I have emptied the land of its inhabitants. <A name="27"></a><span class="reftext"><a href="/parallel/leviticus/18-26.htm#aramaic"><b>26</b></a></span>Keep my covenants and my judgments and you shall not do one of all of these sins, neither you, nor those who are converted to me who dwell among you: <A name="28"></a><span class="reftext"><a href="/parallel/leviticus/18-27.htm#aramaic"><b>27</b></a></span>Because the men of the place that were before you did all of these sins and the land was defiled. <A name="29"></a><span class="reftext"><a href="/parallel/leviticus/18-28.htm#aramaic"><b>28</b></a></span>Do not defile the land, that it will not empty you out as I emptied out the people that were from before you. <A name="30"></a><span class="reftext"><a href="/parallel/leviticus/18-29.htm#aramaic"><b>29</b></a></span>Because everyone who does one of all of these sins, the souls that do will be destroyed from within their people. <span class="reftext"><a href="/parallel/leviticus/18-30.htm#aramaic"><b>30</b></a></span>Keep my observances and you shall not practice according to one thing from the laws of sins that they who were before you had done, and you shall not be defiled in them;
