and you shall eliminate<MH6> their name<MH8034> from that place<MH4725>. <span class="reftext"><a href="/deuteronomy/12-4.htm"><b>4</b></a></span>You shall not act<MH6213a> this<MH3651> way<MH3651> toward the LORD<MH3068> your God<MH430>. <span class="reftext"><a href="/deuteronomy/12-5.htm"><b>5</b></a></span>But you shall seek<MH1875> <i>the L<i>ORD</i></i> at the place<MH4725> which<MH834> the LORD<MH3068> your God<MH430> will choose<MH977> from all<MH3605> your tribes<MH7626>, to establish<MH7760> His name<MH8034> there<MH8033> for His dwelling<MH7931>, and you shall come<MH935> there<MH8033>. <span class="reftext"><a href="/deuteronomy/12-6.htm"><b>6</b></a></span>You shall bring<MH935> there<MH8033> your burnt<MH5930a> offerings<MH5930a>, your sacrifices<MH2077>, your tithes<MH4643>, the <span class="fn"><a href="#fn">[e]</a></span>contribution<MH8641> of your hand<MH3027>, your vowed<MH5088> offerings<MH5088>, your <span class="fn"><a href="#fn">[f]</a></span>voluntary<MH5071> offerings<MH5071>, and the firstborn<MH1060> of your herd<MH1241> and of your flock<MH6629>. <span class="reftext"><a href="/deuteronomy/12-7.htm"><b>7</b></a></span>There<MH8033> you and your households<MH1004> shall eat<MH398> before<MH6440> the LORD<MH3068> your God<MH430>, and rejoice<MH8055> in all<MH3605> <span class="fn"><a href="#fn">[g]</a></span>your undertakings<MH3027, 4916a> in which<MH834> the LORD<MH3068> your God<MH430> has blessed<MH1288> you. <p class="paragraph"><span class="reftext"><a href="/deuteronomy/12-8.htm"><b>8</b></a></span>“You shall not do<MH6213a> at all<MH3605> what<MH834> we are doing<MH6213a> here<MH6311> today<MH3117>, everyone<MH376> <i>doing</i> whatever<MH3605> is right<MH3477> in his <i>own</i> eyes<MH5869>; <span class="reftext"><a href="/deuteronomy/12-9.htm"><b>9</b></a></span>for you have not as yet<MH6258> come<MH935> to the resting<MH4496> place<MH4496> and the inheritance<MH5159> which<MH834> the LORD<MH3068> your God<MH430> is giving<MH5414> you. <span class="reftext"><a href="/deuteronomy/12-10.htm"><b>10</b></a></span>When you cross<MH5674a> the Jordan<MH3383> and live<MH3427> in the land<MH776> which<MH834> the LORD<MH3068> your God<MH430> is giving<MH5157> you as<MH5157> an<MH5157> inheritance<MH5157>, and He gives<MH5117> you rest<MH5117> from all<MH3605> your enemies<MH340> around<MH5439> <i>you</i> so that you live<MH3427> in security<MH983>, <span class="reftext"><a href="/deuteronomy/12-11.htm"><b>11</b></a></span>then it shall come<MH1961> about<MH1961> that the place<MH4725> in which<MH834> the LORD<MH3068> your God<MH430> will choose<MH977> for His name<MH8034> to dwell<MH7931>, there<MH8033> you shall bring<MH935> everything<MH3605> that I command<MH6680> you: your burnt<MH5930a> offerings<MH5930a> and your sacrifices<MH2077>, your tithes<MH4643> and the <span class="fn"><a href="#fn">[h]</a></span>contribution<MH8641> of your hand<MH3027>, and all<MH3605> your choice<MH4005> vowed<MH5088> offerings<MH5088> which<MH834> you will vow<MH5088> to the LORD<MH3068>. <span class="reftext"><a href="/deuteronomy/12-12.htm"><b>12</b></a></span>And you shall rejoice<MH8055> before<MH6440> the LORD<MH3068> your God<MH430>, you and your sons<MH1121> and daughters<MH1323>, your male<MH5650> and female<MH519> slaves<MH5650, 519>, and the Levite<MH3881> who<MH834> is within your gates<MH8179>, since<MH3588> he has<MH369> no<MH369> portion<MH2506> or inheritance<MH5159> with you. <p class="paragraph"><span class="reftext"><a href="/deuteronomy/12-13.htm"><b>13</b></a></span>“Be<MH8104> careful<MH8104> that you do not offer<MH5927> your burnt<MH5930a> offerings<MH5930a> in any<MH3605> <i>cultic</i> place<MH4725> that you see<MH7200>, <span class="reftext"><a href="/deuteronomy/12-14.htm"><b>14</b></a></span>but <i>only</i> in the place<MH4725> which<MH834> the LORD<MH3068> chooses<MH977> in one<MH259> of your tribes<MH7626>: there<MH8033> you shall offer<MH5927> your burnt<MH5930a> offerings<MH5930a>, and there<MH8033> you shall do<MH6213a> everything<MH3605> that I command<MH6680> you. <p class="paragraph"><span class="reftext"><a href="/deuteronomy/12-15.htm"><b>15</b></a></span>“However<MH7534b>, you may slaughter<MH2076> and eat<MH398> meat<MH1320> within any<MH3605> of your gates<MH8179>, <span class="fn"><a href="#fn">[i]</a></span>whatever<MH3605> you desire<MH185>, according to the blessing<MH1293> of the LORD<MH3068> your God<MH430> which<MH834> He has given<MH5414> you; the unclean<MH2931> and the clean<MH2889> <i>alike</i> may eat<MH398> it, as the gazelle<MH6643b> and the deer<MH354>. <span class="reftext"><a href="/deuteronomy/12-16.htm"><b>16</b></a></span>Only<MH7534b> you shall not eat<MH398> the blood<MH1818>; you are to pour<MH8210> it out<MH8210> on the ground<MH776> like water<MH4325>. <span class="reftext"><a href="/deuteronomy/12-17.htm"><b>17</b></a></span>You are not allowed<MH3201> to eat<MH398> within your gates<MH8179> the tithe<MH4643> of your grain<MH1715>, new<MH8492> wine<MH8492>, or oil<MH3323>, or the firstborn<MH1060> of your herd<MH1241> or flock<MH6629>, or any<MH3605> of your vowed<MH5088> offerings<MH5088> which<MH834> you vow<MH5087>, or your <span class="fn"><a href="#fn">[j]</a></span>voluntary<MH5071> offerings<MH5071>, or the <span class="fn"><a href="#fn">[k]</a></span>contribution<MH8641> of your hand<MH3027>. <span class="reftext"><a href="/deuteronomy/12-18.htm"><b>18</b></a></span>But you shall eat<MH398> them before<MH6440> the LORD<MH3068> your God<MH430> in the place<MH4725> which<MH834> the LORD<MH3068> your God<MH430> will choose<MH977>, you and your son<MH1121> and daughter<MH1323>, and your male<MH5650> and female<MH519> slaves<MH5650, 519>, and the Levite<MH3881> who<MH834> is within your gates<MH8179>; and you shall rejoice<MH8055> before<MH6440> the LORD<MH3068> your God<MH430> in all<MH3605> <span class="fn"><a href="#fn">[l]</a></span>your undertakings<MH3027, 4916a>. <span class="reftext"><a href="/deuteronomy/12-19.htm"><b>19</b></a></span>Be<MH8104> careful<MH8104> that you do not abandon<MH5800a> the Levite<MH3881> <span class="fn"><a href="#fn">[m]</a></span>as<MH3605, 3117> long<MH3605, 3117> as you live<MH3117> in your land<MH127>. <p class="paragraph"><span class="reftext"><a href="/deuteronomy/12-20.htm"><b>20</b></a></span>“When<MH3588> the LORD<MH3068> your God<MH430> extends<MH7337> your border<MH1366> as He has <span class="fn"><a href="#fn">[n]</a></span>promised<MH1696> you, and you say<MH559>, ‘I will eat<MH398> meat<MH1320>,’ because<MH3588> <span class="fn"><a href="#fn">[o]</a></span>you desire<MH183> to eat<MH398> meat<MH1320>, <i>then</i> you may eat<MH398> meat<MH1320>, <span class="fn"><a href="#fn">[p]</a></span>whatever<MH3605> you desire<MH185>. <span class="reftext"><a href="/deuteronomy/12-21.htm"><b>21</b></a></span>If<MH3588> the place<MH4725> where<MH834, 8033> the LORD<MH3068> your God<MH430> chooses<MH977> to put<MH7760> His name<MH8034> is<MH7368> too<MH4480> far<MH7368> from you, then you may slaughter<MH2076> <i>animals</i> from your herd<MH1241> and flock<MH6629> which<MH834> the LORD<MH3068> has given<MH5414> you, as I have commanded<MH6680> you; and you may eat<MH398> within your gates<MH8179> <span class="fn"><a href="#fn">[q]</a></span>whatever<MH3605> you desire<MH185>. <span class="reftext"><a href="/deuteronomy/12-22.htm"><b>22</b></a></span>Just<MH389, 3512c> as a gazelle<MH6643b> or a deer<MH354> is eaten<MH398>, so<MH3651> you may eat<MH398> it; the unclean<MH2931> and the clean<MH2889> alike<MH3164a> may eat<MH398> it. <span class="reftext"><a href="/deuteronomy/12-23.htm"><b>23</b></a></span>Only<MH7534b> be<MH2388> sure<MH2388> not to eat<MH398> the blood<MH1818>, for the blood<MH1818> is the <span class="fn"><a href="#fn">[r]</a></span>life<MH5315>, and you shall not eat<MH398> the <span class="fn"><a href="#fn">[s]</a></span>life<MH5315> with the flesh<MH1320>. <span class="reftext"><a href="/deuteronomy/12-24.htm"><b>24</b></a></span>You shall not eat<MH398> it; you shall pour<MH8210> it out<MH8210> on the ground<MH776> like water<MH4325>. <span class="reftext"><a href="/deuteronomy/12-25.htm"><b>25</b></a></span>You shall not eat<MH398> it, so<MH4616> that<MH4616> it may go<MH3190> well<MH3190> for you and your sons<MH1121> after<MH310> you, since<MH3588> you will be doing<MH6213a> what<MH3477> is<MH3477> right<MH3477> in the sight<MH5869> of the LORD<MH3068>. <span class="reftext"><a href="/deuteronomy/12-26.htm"><b>26</b></a></span>Only<MH7534b> your holy<MH6944> things<MH6944> which<MH834> you may have<MH1961> and your vowed<MH5088> offerings<MH5088>, you shall take<MH5375> and go<MH935> to the place<MH4725> which<MH834> the LORD<MH3068> chooses<MH977>. <span class="reftext"><a href="/deuteronomy/12-27.htm"><b>27</b></a></span>And you shall offer<MH6213a> your burnt<MH5930a> offerings<MH5930a>, the flesh<MH1320> and the blood<MH1818>, on the altar<MH4196> of the LORD<MH3068> your God<MH430>; and the blood<MH1818> of your sacrifices<MH2077> shall be poured<MH8210> out<MH8210> on the altar<MH4196> of the LORD<MH3068> your God<MH430>, and you shall eat<MH398> the flesh<MH1320>. <p class="paragraph"><span class="reftext"><a href="/deuteronomy/12-28.htm"><b>28</b></a></span>“Be<MH8104> careful<MH8104> and listen<MH8085> to all<MH3605> these<MH428> words<MH1697> which<MH834> I am commanding<MH6680> you, so<MH4616> that<MH4616> it may go<MH3190> well<MH3190> for you and your sons<MH1121> after<MH310> you forever<MH5704, 5769>, for you will be doing<MH6213a> what<MH2896a> is<MH2896a> good<MH2896a> and right<MH3477> in the sight<MH5869> of the LORD<MH3068> your God<MH430>. <p class="paragraph"><span class="reftext"><a href="/deuteronomy/12-29.htm"><b>29</b></a></span>“When<MH3588> the LORD<MH3068> your God<MH430> cuts<MH3772> off<MH3772> from you the nations<MH1471> which<MH834> you are going<MH935> in<MH935> to dispossess<MH3423>, and you dispossess<MH3423> them and live<MH3427> in their land<MH776>, <span class="reftext"><a href="/deuteronomy/12-30.htm"><b>30</b></a></span>be<MH8104> careful<MH8104> that you are not ensnared<MH5367> <span class="fn"><a href="#fn">[t]</a></span>to follow<MH310> them, after<MH310> they are destroyed<MH8045> from your presence<MH6440>, and that you do not inquire<MH1875> about their gods<MH430>, saying<MH559>, ‘How<MH351a> do these<MH428> nations<MH1471> serve<MH5647> their gods<MH430>, that I also<MH1571> may do<MH6213a> likewise<MH3651>?’ <span class="reftext"><a href="/deuteronomy/12-31.htm"><b>31</b></a></span>You shall not behave<MH6213a> this<MH3651> way<MH3651> toward the LORD<MH3068> your God<MH430>, because<MH3588> every<MH3605> abominable<MH8441> act<MH8441> which<MH834> the LORD<MH3068> hates<MH8130>, they have done<MH6213a> for their gods<MH430>;
