The Council is a multi-disciplinary group whose purpose is to advance and coordinate work in the field of Nanotechnology carried out throughout the IEEE in scientific, literary and educational areas. The Council supports the theory, design, and development of nanotechnology and its scientific, engineering, and industrial applications. A very important benefit is that the chapter can organize seminars and symposia and offer them at a very low cost compared to large expensive conferences.</p> <hr /> <p> </p> <p><strong>When and how are AdCom representatives appointed?</strong></p> <p style="text-align: justify;">The AdCom is composed of the elected officers of the Council and two representatives appointed by each Member Society. The term of office of a Member Society representative on the Council shall be two years with each of the two Society representatives appointed by the Society in alternate years.
