R-25 se od star拧铆ch typ暖 li拧铆 nov媒m kompresorem s vy拧拧铆m pr暖tokem vzduchu a s vy拧拧铆m stla膷en铆m, v konstrukci je vyu啪ito je拧t臎 v铆ce titanu ne啪 u jeho p艡edch暖dce. 脷pln臎 nov谩 je komora p艡铆davn茅ho spalov谩n铆, kter谩 nyn铆 m暖啪e pracovat v re啪imu tzv. druh茅 fors谩啪e, p艡i kter茅 je po dobu maxim谩ln臎 3 minut p艡i rychlosti kolem M=1 a ve v媒拧ce do 4 km mo啪n茅 dos谩hnout tahu a啪 9900 kg (tedy o 50% v铆ce ne啪 je max. tah motoru R-13). Po tuto kr谩tkou dobu dosahuj铆 ot谩膷ky motoru 106% maxim谩ln铆ch ot谩膷ek. Tento re啪im je ur膷en p艡edev拧铆m pro dosa啪en铆 t茅m臎艡 dvojn谩sobn茅 stoupavosti ne啪 u <a href="http://www.military.cz/russia/air/mig/Mig_21/mig_21.htm">MiGu-21MF</a>. Celkem bylo b臎hem s茅riov茅 v媒roby v letech 1971 a啪 1975 v Ufinsk茅m z谩vod臎 NPP Motor vyrobeno p艡ibli啪n臎 3200 kus暖 R-25-300 pro letouny <a href="http://www.military.cz/russia/air/mig/Mig_21/mig_21.htm">MiG-21bis</a> (v媒robn铆 ozna膷en铆 bylo Izd臎lije 25). V媒roba prob铆hala tak茅 v Indii firmou HAL pro <a href="http://www.military.cz/russia/air/mig/Mig_21/mig_21.htm">MiGy-21bis</a> indick茅ho letectva (pouze v roce 1975).
