However, strain identification in terms of fuel productivity and over all economics of fuel generation remains a debatable challenge. Utilization of marine biomass, especially the ones important in the Indian subcontinent, in forming furanic fuels and specialty chemicals would likely to be a better value-addition pathway. Seaweed species e.g. Ulva, Sarconema, and Gracilaria species have been found more productive than land-based biomass sources due to their higher growth rate. Additionally, non-recalcitrant nature of marine biomass unlike lignocellulosics has attracted much attention in recent years towards producing bioethanol. Here we report the production of renewable, biomass-derived platform molecules such as furfural and 5-(chloromethyl) furfural (CMF) from a seaweed species which are abundant marine biomass. These products have high potential for synthetic upgradation into various classes of value-added compounds such as fuels, fuel-additives, and monomers for polymers, solvents, agrochemicals, and pharmaceuticals. <p class="card-text"><strong>Keywords:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=seaweeds" title="seaweeds">seaweeds</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Ulva" title=" Ulva"> Ulva</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=CMF" title=" CMF"> CMF</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=furan" title=" furan"> furan</a> </p> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/57159/valorization-of-marine-seaweed-biomass-furanic-platform-chemicals-and-beyond" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">Procedia</a> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/57159.pdf" target="_blank" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">PDF</a> <span class="bg-info text-light px-1 py-1 float-right rounded"> Downloads <span class="badge badge-light">454</span> </span> </div> </div> <div class="card paper-listing mb-3 mt-3"> <h5 class="card-header" style="font-size:.9rem"><span class="badge badge-info">1860</span> Fractional Order Differentiator Using Chebyshev Polynomials</h5> <div class="card-body"> <p class="card-text"><strong>Authors:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Koushlendra%20Kumar%20Singh">Koushlendra Kumar Singh</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Manish%20Kumar%20Bajpai"> Manish Kumar Bajpai</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Rajesh%20Kumar%20Pandey"> Rajesh Kumar Pandey</a> </p> <p class="card-text"><strong>Abstract:</strong></p> A discrete time fractional orderdifferentiator has been modeled for estimating the fractional order derivatives of contaminated signal. The proposed approach is based on Chebyshev’s polynomials. We use the Riemann-Liouville fractional order derivative definition for designing the fractional order SG differentiator. In first step we calculate the window weight corresponding to the required fractional order. Then signal is convoluted with this calculated window’s weight for finding the fractional order derivatives of signals. Several signals are considered for evaluating the accuracy of the proposed method. <p class="card-text"><strong>Keywords:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=fractional%20order%20derivative" title="fractional order derivative">fractional order derivative</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=chebyshev%0D%0Apolynomials" title=" chebyshev polynomials"> chebyshev polynomials</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=signals" title=" signals"> signals</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=S-G%20differentiator" title=" S-G differentiator"> S-G differentiator</a> </p> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/21346/fractional-order-differentiator-using-chebyshev-polynomials" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">Procedia</a> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/21346.pdf" target="_blank" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">PDF</a> <span class="bg-info text-light px-1 py-1 float-right rounded"> Downloads <span class="badge badge-light">648</span> </span> </div> </div> <div class="card paper-listing mb-3 mt-3"> <h5 class="card-header" style="font-size:.9rem"><span class="badge badge-info">1859</span> Numerical Solution of a Mathematical Model of Vortex Using Projection Method: Applications to Tornado Dynamics</h5> <div class="card-body"> <p class="card-text"><strong>Authors:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Jagdish%20Prasad%20Maurya">Jagdish Prasad Maurya</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Sanjay%20Kumar%20Pandey"> Sanjay Kumar Pandey</a> </p> <p class="card-text"><strong>Abstract:</strong></p> Inadequate understanding of the complex nature of flow features in tornado vortex is a major problem in modelling tornadoes. Tornadoes are violent atmospheric phenomenon that appear all over the world. Modelling tornadoes aim to reduce the loss of the human lives and material damage caused by the tornadoes. Dynamics of tornado is investigated by a numerical technique, the improved version of the projection method. In this paper, authors solve the problem for axisymmetric tornado vortex by the said method that uses a finite difference approach for getting an accurate and stable solution. The conclusions drawn are that large radial inflow velocity occurs near the ground that leads to increase the tangential velocity. The increased velocity phenomenon occurs close to the boundary and absolute maximum wind is obtained near the vortex core. The results validate previous numerical and theoretical models. <p class="card-text"><strong>Keywords:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=computational%20fluid%20dynamics" title="computational fluid dynamics">computational fluid dynamics</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=mathematical%20model" title=" mathematical model"> mathematical model</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Navier-Stokes%20equations" title=" Navier-Stokes equations"> Navier-Stokes equations</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=tornado" title=" tornado"> tornado</a> </p> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/67257/numerical-solution-of-a-mathematical-model-of-vortex-using-projection-method-applications-to-tornado-dynamics" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">Procedia</a> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/67257.pdf" target="_blank" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">PDF</a> <span class="bg-info text-light px-1 py-1 float-right rounded"> Downloads <span class="badge badge-light">353</span> </span> </div> </div> <div class="card paper-listing mb-3 mt-3"> <h5 class="card-header" style="font-size:.9rem"><span class="badge badge-info">1858</span> Edge Detection in Low Contrast Images</h5> <div class="card-body"> <p class="card-text"><strong>Authors:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Koushlendra%20Kumar%20Singh">Koushlendra Kumar Singh</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Manish%20Kumar%20Bajpai"> Manish Kumar Bajpai</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Rajesh%20K.%20Pandey"> Rajesh K. It is expected that the news about the war, which had affected the entire world, especially its economy, will continue to dominate the coverage on TV and newspapers in the next few days, at least until the hostilities come to an end. Although the war still continues, and it is hard to predict its ending, its coverage by the Indian media has raised eyebrows, and it has been observed that the coverage lacks depth, authenticity and a majority of information was sought to be presented in a sensational manner only to attract more number of viewers. It is said that Truth is the first casualty of war. The media should, especially while airing or publishing news about the wars, exercise caution so as not to inflame the already volatile situation in the warring countries. It was also observed that there were differences in the facts and figures presented by different media outlets in the country about the war. <p class="card-text"><strong>Keywords:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=economy" title="economy">economy</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=media" title=" media"> media</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=russia" title=" russia"> russia</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=ukraine" title=" ukraine"> ukraine</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=war" title=" war"> war</a> </p> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/151872/russian-invasion-of-ukraine-an-analysis-of-coverage-in-indian-media" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">Procedia</a> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/151872.pdf" target="_blank" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">PDF</a> <span class="bg-info text-light px-1 py-1 float-right rounded"> Downloads <span class="badge badge-light">119</span> </span> </div> </div> <div class="card paper-listing mb-3 mt-3"> <h5 class="card-header" style="font-size:.9rem"><span class="badge badge-info">1856</span> Drum Scrubber Performance Assessment and Improvement to Achieve the Desired Product Quality</h5> <div class="card-body"> <p class="card-text"><strong>Authors:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Prateek%20Singh">Prateek Singh</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Arun%20Kumar%20Pandey"> Arun Kumar Pandey</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=C.%20Raghu%20Kumar"> C. The purpose of the scrubber is to release the adhered fine clayey particles from the iron-bearing particles. Presently, the iron ore wash plants in the Eastern region of India consist of the scrubber, double deck screen followed by screw classifier as the main unit operations. Hence, scrubber performance efficiency has a huge impact on the downstream product quality. This paper illustrates the effect of scrubber feed % solids on scrubber performance and alumina distribution on downstream equipment. Further, it was established that scrubber performance efficiency could be defined as the ratio of the adhered particles (-0.15mm) released from scrubber feed during scrubbing operation with respect to the maximum possible release of -0.15mm (%) particles. <p class="card-text"><strong>Keywords:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=scrubber" title="scrubber">scrubber</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=adhered%20particles" title=" adhered particles"> adhered particles</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=feed%20%25%20solids" title=" feed % solids"> feed % solids</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=efficiency" title=" efficiency"> efficiency</a> </p> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/146354/drum-scrubber-performance-assessment-and-improvement-to-achieve-the-desired-product-quality" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">Procedia</a> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/146354.pdf" target="_blank" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">PDF</a> <span class="bg-info text-light px-1 py-1 float-right rounded"> Downloads <span class="badge badge-light">138</span> </span> </div> </div> <div class="card paper-listing mb-3 mt-3"> <h5 class="card-header" style="font-size:.9rem"><span class="badge badge-info">1855</span> Estimation of PM2.5 Emissions and Source Apportionment Using Receptor and Dispersion Models</h5> <div class="card-body"> <p class="card-text"><strong>Authors:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Swetha%20Priya%20Darshini%20Thammadi">Swetha Priya Darshini Thammadi</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Sateesh%20Kumar%20Pisini"> Sateesh Kumar Pisini</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Sanjay%20Kumar%20Shukla"> Sanjay Kumar Shukla</a> </p> <p class="card-text"><strong>Abstract:</strong></p> Source apportionment using Dispersion model depends primarily on the quality of Emission Inventory. In the present study, a CMB receptor model has been used to identify the sources of PM2.5, while the AERMOD dispersion model has been used to account for missing sources of PM2.5 in the Emission Inventory. A statistical approach has been developed to quantify the missing sources not considered in the Emission Inventory. The inventory of each grid was improved by adjusting emissions based on road lengths and deficit in measured and modelled concentrations. The results showed that in CMB analyses, fugitive sources - soil and road dust - contribute significantly to ambient PM2.5 pollution. As a result, AERMOD significantly underestimated the ambient air concentration at most locations. The revised Emission Inventory showed a significant improvement in AERMOD performance which is evident through statistical tests. <p class="card-text"><strong>Keywords:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=CMB" title="CMB">CMB</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=GIS" title=" GIS"> GIS</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=AERMOD" title=" AERMOD"> AERMOD</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=PM%E2%82%82.%E2%82%85" title=" PM₂.₅"> PM₂.₅</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=fugitive" title=" fugitive"> fugitive</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=emission%20inventory" title=" emission inventory"> emission inventory</a> </p> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/95921/estimation-of-pm25-emissions-and-source-apportionment-using-receptor-and-dispersion-models" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">Procedia</a> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/95921.pdf" target="_blank" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">PDF</a> <span class="bg-info text-light px-1 py-1 float-right rounded"> Downloads <span class="badge badge-light">340</span> </span> </div> </div> <div class="card paper-listing mb-3 mt-3"> <h5 class="card-header" style="font-size:.9rem"><span class="badge badge-info">1854</span> A Review on Electrical Behavior of Different Substrates, Electrodes and Membranes in Microbial Fuel Cell</h5> <div class="card-body"> <p class="card-text"><strong>Authors:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Bharat%20Mishra">Bharat Mishra</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Sanjay%20Kumar%20Awasthi"> Sanjay Kumar Awasthi</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Raj%20Kumar%20Rajak"> Raj Kumar Rajak</a> </p> <p class="card-text"><strong>Abstract:</strong></p> The devices, which convert the energy in the form of electricity from organic matters, are called microbial fuel cell (MFC). Recently, MFCs have been given a lot of attention due to their mild operating conditions, and various types of biodegradable substrates have been used in the form of fuel. Traditional MFCs were included in anode and cathode chambers, but there are single chamber MFCs. Microorganisms actively catabolize substrate, and bioelectricities are produced. In the field of power generation from non-conventional sources, apart from the benefits of this technique, it is still facing practical constraints such as low potential and power. In this study, most suitable, natural, low cost MFCs components are electrodes (anode and cathode), organic substrates, membranes and its design is selected on the basis of maximum potential (voltage) as an electrical parameter, which indicates a vital role of affecting factor in MFC for sustainable power production. <p class="card-text"><strong>Keywords:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=substrates" title="substrates">substrates</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=electrodes" title=" electrodes"> electrodes</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=membranes" title=" membranes"> membranes</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=MFCs%20design" title=" MFCs design"> MFCs design</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=voltage" title=" voltage"> voltage</a> </p> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/77437/a-review-on-electrical-behavior-of-different-substrates-electrodes-and-membranes-in-microbial-fuel-cell" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">Procedia</a> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/77437.pdf" target="_blank" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">PDF</a> <span class="bg-info text-light px-1 py-1 float-right rounded"> Downloads <span class="badge badge-light">306</span> </span> </div> </div> <div class="card paper-listing mb-3 mt-3"> <h5 class="card-header" style="font-size:.9rem"><span class="badge badge-info">1853</span> Load-Settlement Behaviour of Geogrid-Reinforced Sand Bed over Granular Piles</h5> <div class="card-body"> <p class="card-text"><strong>Authors:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Sateesh%20Kumar%20Pisini">Sateesh Kumar Pisini</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Swetha%20Priya%20Darshini%20Thammadi"> Swetha Priya Darshini Thammadi</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Sanjay%20Kumar%20Shukla"> Sanjay Kumar Shukla</a> </p> <p class="card-text"><strong>Abstract:</strong></p> Granular piles are a popular ground improvement technique in soft cohesive soils as well as for loose non-cohesive soils. The present experimental study has been carried out on granular piles in loose (Relative density = 30%) and medium dense (Relative density = 60%) sands with geogrid reinforcement within the sand bed over the granular piles. A group of five piles were installed in the sand at different spacing, s = 2d, 3d and 4d, d being the diameter of the pile. The length (L = 0.4 m) and diameter (d = 50 mm) of the piles were kept constant for all the series of experiments. The load-settlement behavior of reinforced sand bed and granular piles system was studied by applying the load on a square footing. The results show that the effect of reinforcement increases the load bearing capacity of the piles. It is also found that an increase in spacing between piles decreases the settlement for both loose and medium dense soil. <p class="card-text"><strong>Keywords:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=granular%20pile" title="granular pile">granular pile</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=load-carrying%20capacity" title=" load-carrying capacity"> load-carrying capacity</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=settlement" title=" settlement"> settlement</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=geogrid%20reinforcement" title=" geogrid reinforcement"> geogrid reinforcement</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=sand" title=" sand"> sand</a> </p> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/95179/load-settlement-behaviour-of-geogrid-reinforced-sand-bed-over-granular-piles" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">Procedia</a> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/95179.pdf" target="_blank" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">PDF</a> <span class="bg-info text-light px-1 py-1 float-right rounded"> Downloads <span class="badge badge-light">391</span> </span> </div> </div> <div class="card paper-listing mb-3 mt-3"> <h5 class="card-header" style="font-size:.9rem"><span class="badge badge-info">1852</span> One Step Synthesis of Molybdenum Carbide Nanoparticles for Efficient Hydrogen Evolution Reaction</h5> <div class="card-body"> <p class="card-text"><strong>Authors:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Sanjay%20Upadhyay">Sanjay Upadhyay</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Om%20Prakash%20Pandey"> Om Prakash Pandey</a> </p> <p class="card-text"><strong>Abstract:</strong></p> Hydrogen has been promoted as an alternative source of energy, which is renewable, cost-effective, and nature-friendly. Hydrogen evolution reaction (HER) can be used for mass production of hydrogen at a very low cost through electrochemical water splitting. An active and efficient electrocatalyst is required to perform this reaction. Till date, platinum (Pt) is a stable and efficient electrocatalyst towards HER. But its high cost and low abundance hiders its large scale uses. Molybdenum carbide having a similar electronic structure to platinum can be a great alternative to costly platinum. In this study, pure phase molybdenum carbide (Mo₂C) has been synthesized in a single step. Synthesis temperature and holding time have been optimized to obtain pure phases of Mo₂C. The surface, structural and morphological properties of as-synthesized compounds have been studied. The HER activity of as-synthesized compounds has been explored in detail. <p class="card-text"><strong>Keywords:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=capacitance" title="capacitance">capacitance</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=hydrogen%20fuel" title=" hydrogen fuel"> hydrogen fuel</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=molybdenum%20carbide" title=" molybdenum carbide"> molybdenum carbide</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=nanoparticles" title=" nanoparticles"> nanoparticles</a> </p> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/140482/one-step-synthesis-of-molybdenum-carbide-nanoparticles-for-efficient-hydrogen-evolution-reaction" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">Procedia</a> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/140482.pdf" target="_blank" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">PDF</a> <span class="bg-info text-light px-1 py-1 float-right rounded"> Downloads <span class="badge badge-light">203</span> </span> </div> </div> <div class="card paper-listing mb-3 mt-3"> <h5 class="card-header" style="font-size:.9rem"><span class="badge badge-info">1851</span> Telephone Health Service to Improve the Quality of Life of the People Living with AIDS in Eastern Nepal</h5> <div class="card-body"> <p class="card-text"><strong>Authors:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Ram%20Sharan%20Mehta">Ram Sharan Mehta</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Naveen%20Kumar%20Pandey"> Naveen Kumar Pandey</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Binod%20Kumar%20Deo"> Binod Kumar Deo </a> </p> <p class="card-text"><strong>Abstract:</strong></p> Quality of Life (QOL) is an important component in the evaluation of the well-being of People Living with AIDS (PLWA). This study assessed the effectiveness of education intervention programme in improving the QOL of PLWA on ART attaining the ART-clinics at B. P. Koirala Institute of Health Sciences (BPKIHS), Nepal. A pre-experimental research design was used to conduct the study among the PLWA on ART at BPKIHS from June to August 2013 involving 60 PLWA on pre-test randomly. The mean age of the respondents was 36.70 ± 9.92, and majority of them (80%) were of age group of 25-50 years and Male (56.7%). After education intervention programme there is significant change in the QOL in all the four domains i.e. Physical (p=0.008), Psychological (p=0.019), Social (p=0.046) and Environmental (p=0.032) using student t-test at 0.05 level of significance. There is significant (p= 0.016) difference in the mean QOL scores of pre-test and post-test. High QOL scores in post-test after education intervention programme may reflective of the effectiveness of planned education interventions programme. <p class="card-text"><strong>Keywords:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=telephone" title="telephone">telephone</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=AIDS" title=" AIDS"> AIDS</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=health%20service" title=" health service"> health service</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Nepal" title=" Nepal"> Nepal</a> </p> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/16608/telephone-health-service-to-improve-the-quality-of-life-of-the-people-living-with-aids-in-eastern-nepal" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">Procedia</a> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/16608.pdf" target="_blank" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">PDF</a> <span class="bg-info text-light px-1 py-1 float-right rounded"> Downloads <span class="badge badge-light">502</span> </span> </div> </div> <div class="card paper-listing mb-3 mt-3"> <h5 class="card-header" style="font-size:.9rem"><span class="badge badge-info">1850</span> Identification and Characterization of Genes Expressed in Diseased Condition Silkworms (Bombyx mori): A Systematic Investigation</h5> <div class="card-body"> <p class="card-text"><strong>Authors:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Siddharth%20Soni">Siddharth Soni</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Gourav%20Kumar%20Pandey"> Gourav Kumar Pandey</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Sneha%20Kumari"> Sneha Kumari</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Dev%20Mani%20Pandey"> Dev Mani Pandey</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Koel%20Mukherjee"> Koel Mukherjee</a> </p> <p class="card-text"><strong>Abstract:</strong></p> The silkworm Bombyx mori is a commercially important insect, but a major roadblock in silk production are silkworm diseases. Flacherie is one of the diseases of the silkworm, that affects the midgut of the 4th and 5th instar larvae and eventually makes them lethargic, stop feeding and finally result in their death. The concerned disease is a result of bacterial and viral infection and in some instances a combination of both. The present study aims to identify and study the expression level of genes in the flacherie condition. For the said work, total RNA was isolated from the infected larvae at their most probable infectious instar and cDNA was synthesized using Reverse Transcriptase PCR (RT-PCR). This cDNA was then used to amplify disease relalted genes whose expression levels were checked using quantitaive PCR (qPCR) using the double delta Ct method. Cry toxin receptors like APN and BtR-175, ROS mediator Dual Oxidase are few proteins whose genes were overexpressed. Interestingly, pattern recognition receptors (PRRs) C-type lectins' genes were found to be downregulated. The results explain about the strong expression of genes that can distinguish the concerned protein in the midgut of diseased silkworm and thereby aiding knowledge in the field of inhibitor designing research. <p class="card-text"><strong>Keywords:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Bombyx%20mori" title="Bombyx mori">Bombyx mori</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=flacherie%20disease" title=" flacherie disease"> flacherie disease</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=inhibitor%20designing" title=" inhibitor designing"> inhibitor designing</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=up%20and%20down%20regulation" title=" up and down regulation"> up and down regulation</a> </p> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/64217/identification-and-characterization-of-genes-expressed-in-diseased-condition-silkworms-bombyx-mori-a-systematic-investigation" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">Procedia</a> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/64217.pdf" target="_blank" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">PDF</a> <span class="bg-info text-light px-1 py-1 float-right rounded"> Downloads <span class="badge badge-light">285</span> </span> </div> </div> <div class="card paper-listing mb-3 mt-3"> <h5 class="card-header" style="font-size:.9rem"><span class="badge badge-info">1849</span> High Altitude Glacier Surface Mapping in Dhauliganga Basin of Himalayan Environment Using Remote Sensing Technique</h5> <div class="card-body"> <p class="card-text"><strong>Authors:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Aayushi%20Pandey">Aayushi Pandey</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Manoj%20Kumar%20Pandey"> Manoj Kumar Pandey</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Ashutosh%20Tiwari"> Ashutosh Tiwari</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Kireet%20Kumar"> Kireet Kumar</a> </p> <p class="card-text"><strong>Abstract:</strong></p> Glaciers play an important role in climate change and are sensitive phenomena of global climate change scenario. Glaciers in Himalayas are unique as they are predominantly valley type and are located in tropical, high altitude regions. These glaciers are often covered with debris which greatly affects ablation rate of glaciers and work as a sensitive indicator of glacier health. The aim of this study is to map high altitude Glacier surface with a focus on glacial lake and debris estimation using different techniques in Nagling glacier of dhauliganga basin in Himalayan region. Different Image Classification techniques i.e. thresholding on different band ratios and supervised classification using maximum likelihood classifier (MLC) have been used on high resolution sentinel 2A level 1c satellite imagery of 14 October 2017.Here Near Infrared (NIR)/Shortwave Infrared (SWIR) ratio image was used to extract the glaciated classes (Snow, Ice, Ice Mixed Debris) from other non-glaciated terrain classes. SWIR/BLUE Ratio Image was used to map valley rock and Debris while Green/NIR ratio image was found most suitable for mapping Glacial Lake. Accuracy assessment was performed using high resolution (3 meters) Planetscope Imagery using 60 stratified random points. The overall accuracy of MLC was 85 % while the accuracy of Band Ratios was 96.66 %. According to Band Ratio technique total areal extent of glaciated classes (Snow, Ice ,IMD) in Nagling glacier was 10.70 km2 nearly 38.07% of study area comprising of 30.87 % Snow covered area, 3.93% Ice and 3.27 % IMD covered area. Non-glaciated classes (vegetation, glacial lake, debris and valley rock) covered 61.93 % of the total area out of which valley rock is dominant with 33.83% coverage followed by debris covering 27.7 % of the area in nagling glacier. Glacial lake and Debris were accurately mapped using Band ratio technique Hence, Band Ratio approach appears to be useful for the mapping of debris covered glacier in Himalayan Region. <p class="card-text"><strong>Keywords:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=band%20ratio" title="band ratio">band ratio</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Dhauliganga%20basin" title=" Dhauliganga basin"> Dhauliganga basin</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=glacier%20mapping" title=" glacier mapping"> glacier mapping</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Himalayan%20region" title=" Himalayan region"> Himalayan region</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=maximum%20likelihood%20classifier%20%28MLC%29" title=" maximum likelihood classifier (MLC)"> maximum likelihood classifier (MLC)</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Sentinel-2%20satellite%20image" title=" Sentinel-2 satellite image"> Sentinel-2 satellite image</a> </p> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/96190/high-altitude-glacier-surface-mapping-in-dhauliganga-basin-of-himalayan-environment-using-remote-sensing-technique" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">Procedia</a> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/96190.pdf" target="_blank" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">PDF</a> <span class="bg-info text-light px-1 py-1 float-right rounded"> Downloads <span class="badge badge-light">228</span> </span> </div> </div> <div class="card paper-listing mb-3 mt-3"> <h5 class="card-header" style="font-size:.9rem"><span class="badge badge-info">1848</span> A Sub-Scalar Approach to the MIPS Architecture</h5> <div class="card-body"> <p class="card-text"><strong>Authors:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Kumar%20Sambhav%20Pandey">Kumar Sambhav Pandey</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Anamika%20Singh"> Anamika Singh</a> </p> <p class="card-text"><strong>Abstract:</strong></p> The continuous researches in the field of computer architecture basically aims at accelerating the computational speed and to gain enhanced performance. In this era, the superscalar, sub-scalar concept has not gained enough attention for improving the computation performance. In this paper, we have presented a sub-scalar approach to utilize the parallelism present with in the data while processing. The main idea is to split the data into individual smaller entities and these entities are processed with a defined known set of instructions. This sub-scalar approach to the MIPS architecture can bring out significant improvement in the computational speedup. MIPS-I is the basic design taken in consideration for the development of sub-scalar MIPS64 for increasing the instruction level parallelism (ILP) and resource utilization. <p class="card-text"><strong>Keywords:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=dataword" title="dataword">dataword</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=MIPS" title=" MIPS"> MIPS</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=processor" title=" processor"> processor</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=sub-scalar" title=" sub-scalar"> sub-scalar</a> </p> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/11673/a-sub-scalar-approach-to-the-mips-architecture" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">Procedia</a> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/11673.pdf" target="_blank" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">PDF</a> <span class="bg-info text-light px-1 py-1 float-right rounded"> Downloads <span class="badge badge-light">545</span> </span> </div> </div> <div class="card paper-listing mb-3 mt-3"> <h5 class="card-header" style="font-size:.9rem"><span class="badge badge-info">1847</span> Insights and Observation for Optimum Work Roll Cooling in Flat Hot Mills: A Case Study on Shape Defect Elimination</h5> <div class="card-body"> <p class="card-text"><strong>Authors:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Uday%20S.%20Goel">Uday S. This was resulting in a defect called as ‘Ridge’, which was appearing in subsequent cold rolling operations at various cold mills (CRM) and external customers. A collaborative project was undertaken to resolve this issue. One of the reasons identified was the strange drop in thermal crown after rolling of 20-25 coils in the finishing mill (FM ) schedule. On the shop floor, it was observed that work roll temperatures in the FM after rolling were very high and non uniform across the work roll barrel. Jammed work roll cooling nozzles, insufficient roll bite lubrication and inadequate roll cooling water quality were found to be the main reasons. Regular checking was initiated to check roll cooling nozzles health, and quick replacement done if found jammed was implemented. Improvements on roll lubrication, especially flow rates, was done. Usage of anti-peeling headers and inter stand descaling was enhanced. A subsequent project was also taken up for improving the quality of roll cooling water. Encouraging results were obtained from the project with a reduction in rejection due to ridge at CRM’s by almost 95% of the pre project start levels. Poor profile occurrence of HR coils at HSM was also reduced from a high of 32% in May’19 to <1% since Apr’20. <p class="card-text"><strong>Keywords:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=hot%20rolling%20flat" title="hot rolling flat">hot rolling flat</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=shape" title=" shape"> shape</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=ridge" title=" ridge"> ridge</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=work%20roll" title=" work roll"> work roll</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=roll%20cooling%20nozzle" title=" roll cooling nozzle"> roll cooling nozzle</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=lubrication" title=" lubrication"> lubrication</a> </p> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/166771/insights-and-observation-for-optimum-work-roll-cooling-in-flat-hot-mills-a-case-study-on-shape-defect-elimination" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">Procedia</a> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/166771.pdf" target="_blank" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">PDF</a> <span class="bg-info text-light px-1 py-1 float-right rounded"> Downloads <span class="badge badge-light">98</span> </span> </div> </div> <div class="card paper-listing mb-3 mt-3"> <h5 class="card-header" style="font-size:.9rem"><span class="badge badge-info">1846</span> Iodine-Doped Carbon Dots as a Catalyst for Water Remediation Application</h5> <div class="card-body"> <p class="card-text"><strong>Authors:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Anurag%20Kumar%20Pandey">Anurag Kumar Pandey</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Tapan%20Kumar%20Nath"> Tapan Kumar Nath</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Santanu%20Dhara"> Santanu Dhara</a> </p> <p class="card-text"><strong>Abstract:</strong></p> Polluted water by industrial effluents or dyes has become a major global concern, particularly in developing countries. Such environmental contaminants constitute a serious threat to biodiversity, ecosystems, and human health worldwide; thus, their treatment is critical. The usage of nanoparticles has been discovered to be a potential water treatment method with high efficiency, cheap manufacturing costs, and green synthesis. Carbon dots have attracted the interest of researchers due to their unique properties, such as high water solubility, ease of production, great electron-donating ability, and low toxicity. In this context, we synthesized iodine-doped clove buds-derived carbon dots (I-CCDs) for the Fenton-like degradation of environmental contaminants in water (such as methylene blue (MB) and rhodamine-B (Rh-B) dye). The formation of I-CCDs has been confirmed using various spectroscopy techniques. I-CCDs have demonstrated remarkable optical, cytocompatibility, and antibacterial capabilities. The C-dots that were synthesized were found to be an effective catalyst for the reduction of MB and Rh-B utilizing NaBH4 as a reducing agent. UV-visible spectroscopy was used to construct a detailed pathway for dye reduction step by step. As-prepared I-CCDs have the potential to be a promising solution for wastewater purification and treatment systems. <p class="card-text"><strong>Keywords:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=iodine-doped%20carbon%20dots" title="iodine-doped carbon dots">iodine-doped carbon dots</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=wastewater%20treatment%20and%20purification" title=" wastewater treatment and purification"> wastewater treatment and purification</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=environmental%20friendly" title=" environmental friendly"> environmental friendly</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=antibacterial" title=" antibacterial"> antibacterial</a> </p> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/179292/iodine-doped-carbon-dots-as-a-catalyst-for-water-remediation-application" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">Procedia</a> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/179292.pdf" target="_blank" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">PDF</a> <span class="bg-info text-light px-1 py-1 float-right rounded"> Downloads <span class="badge badge-light">82</span> </span> </div> </div> <div class="card paper-listing mb-3 mt-3"> <h5 class="card-header" style="font-size:.9rem"><span class="badge badge-info">1845</span> Isotherm Study for Phenol Removal onto GAC</h5> <div class="card-body"> <p class="card-text"><strong>Authors:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Lallan%20Singh%20Yadav">Lallan Singh Yadav</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Bijay%20Kumar%20Mishra"> Bijay Kumar Mishra</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Manoj%20Kumar%20Mahapatra"> Manoj Kumar Mahapatra</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Arvind%20Kumar"> Arvind Kumar</a> </p> <p class="card-text"><strong>Abstract:</strong></p> Adsorption data for phenol removal onto granular activated carbon were fitted to Langmuir and Freundlich isotherms. However, the therapeutic application of RES in disease management is limited because of its rapid elimination from blood circulation thereby low biological half life in mammals. Therefore, the main objective of this study is to enhance the circulation as well as therapeutic efficacy using PEGylated liposomes. D-α-tocopheryl polyethylene glycol 1000 succinate (vitamin E TPGS) is applied as steric surface decorating agent to prepare RES liposomes by thin film hydration method. The prepared nanoparticles were evaluated by various state of the art techniques such as dynamic light scattering (DLS) technique for particle size and zeta potential, TEM for shape, differential scanning calorimetry (DSC) for interaction analysis and XRD for crystalline changes of drug. Encapsulation efficiency and invitro drug release were determined by dialysis bag method. Cancer cell viability studies were performed by MTT assay, respectively. Pharmacokinetic studies were performed in sprague dawley rats. The prepared liposomes were found to be spherical in shape. Particle size and zeta potential of prepared formulations varied from 64.5±3.16 to 262.3±7.45 nm and -2.1 to 1.76 mV, respectively. DSC study revealed absence of potential interaction. XRD study revealed presence of amorphous form in liposomes. Entrapment efficiency was found to be 87.45±2.14 % and the drug release was found to be controlled up to 24 hours. Minimized MEC in MTT assay and tremendous enhancement in circulation time of RES PEGylated liposomes than its pristine form revealed that the stearic stabilized PEGylated liposomes can be an alternative tool to commercialize this molecule for chemopreventive and therapeutic applications in cancer. <p class="card-text"><strong>Keywords:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=trans%20resveratrol" title="trans resveratrol">trans resveratrol</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=cancer%20nanotechnology" title=" cancer nanotechnology"> cancer nanotechnology</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=long%20circulating%20liposomes" title=" long circulating liposomes"> long circulating liposomes</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=bioavailability%20enhancement" title=" bioavailability enhancement"> bioavailability enhancement</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=liposomes%20for%20cancer%20therapy" title=" liposomes for cancer therapy"> liposomes for cancer therapy</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=PEGylated%20liposomes" title=" PEGylated liposomes"> PEGylated liposomes</a> </p> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/17397/pegylated-liposomes-of-trans-resveratrol-an-anticancer-agent-for-enhancing-therapeutic-efficacy-and-long-circulation" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">Procedia</a> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/17397.pdf" target="_blank" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">PDF</a> <span class="bg-info text-light px-1 py-1 float-right rounded"> Downloads <span class="badge badge-light">589</span> </span> </div> </div> <div class="card paper-listing mb-3 mt-3"> <h5 class="card-header" style="font-size:.9rem"><span class="badge badge-info">1840</span> Estimation of Soil Erosion and Sediment Yield for ONG River Using GIS</h5> <div class="card-body"> <p class="card-text"><strong>Authors:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Sanjay%20Kumar%20Behera">Sanjay Kumar Behera</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Kanhu%20Charan%20Patra"> Kanhu Charan Patra</a> </p> <p class="card-text"><strong>Abstract:</strong></p> A GIS-based method has been applied for the determination of soil erosion and sediment yield in a small watershed in Ong River basin, Odisha, India. The method involves spatial disintegration of the catchment into homogenous grid cells to capture the catchment heterogeneity. The gross soil erosion in each cell was calculated using Universal Soil Loss Equation (USLE) by carefully determining its various parameters. The concept of sediment delivery ratio is used to route surface erosion from each of the discretized cells to the catchment outlet. The process of sediment delivery from grid cells to the catchment outlet is represented by the topographical characteristics of the cells. The effect of DEM resolution on sediment yield is analyzed using two different resolutions of DEM. The spatial discretization of the catchment and derivation of the physical parameters related to erosion in the cell are performed through GIS techniques. <p class="card-text"><strong>Keywords:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=DEM" title="DEM">DEM</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=GIS" title=" GIS"> GIS</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=sediment%20delivery%20ratio" title=" sediment delivery ratio"> sediment delivery ratio</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=sediment%20yield" title=" sediment yield"> sediment yield</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=soil%20erosion" title=" soil erosion"> soil erosion</a> </p> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/21590/estimation-of-soil-erosion-and-sediment-yield-for-ong-river-using-gis" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">Procedia</a> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/21590.pdf" target="_blank" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">PDF</a> <span class="bg-info text-light px-1 py-1 float-right rounded"> Downloads <span class="badge badge-light">449</span> </span> </div> </div> <div class="card paper-listing mb-3 mt-3"> <h5 class="card-header" style="font-size:.9rem"><span class="badge badge-info">1839</span> Endeavor to Develop Immunological and Hematological Early Diagnostic Marker to Check the Conversion of Asymptomatic to Symptomatic Visceral Leishmaniasis</h5> <div class="card-body"> <p class="card-text"><strong>Authors:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Roshan%20Kamal%20Topno">Roshan Kamal Topno</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Maneesh%20Kumar"> Maneesh Kumar</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Manas%20Ranjan%20Dikhit"> Manas Ranjan Dikhit</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Krishna%20Pandey"> Krishna Pandey</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Major%20Madhukar"> Major Madhukar</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Vidhya%20Nand%20Rabidas"> Vidhya Nand Rabidas</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Vahab%20Ali"> Vahab Ali</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Ganesh%20Chandra%20Sahoo"> Ganesh Chandra Sahoo</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Bhawana"> Bhawana</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Devendra%20Prasad%20Yadav"> Devendra Prasad Yadav</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Rishikesh%20Kumar"> Rishikesh Kumar</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Pradeep%20Das"> Pradeep Das</a> </p> <p class="card-text"><strong>Abstract:</strong></p> A diagnostic marker for asymptomatic subject becomes a crucial need for advocating early prophylactic majors to control protozoal infection. The main issue in epidemiological affected regions is the presence of an asymptomatic individual that might potentially convert to a symptomatic visceral leishmaniasis (VL). The epidemiological study has been conducted at highly VL endemic Moriyama village in Patna district, Bihar, India that covers total population of 1540 individuals. Here, 1104(74.02%) people had been randomly screened and only 46 (4.17%) asymptomatic individuals were found sero-positive by the rK39 test. After taking signed informed consent form, blood samples were collected from 46 asymptomatic subjects for further hematological and immunological tests. Total leukocyte count, hemoglobin (gm%), neutrophil, lymphocyte, platelet count and interleukin-10 (IL-10) had been included as diagnostic markers. Interestingly only 5 (10.86%) individuals showed their asymptomatic conversion into symptomatic VL patients during quarterly surveillance. In overall analysis only two markers are suggestive for disease conversion that is hemoglobin (gm%) and IL-10. In all the infected patients, both the mean decrease in hemoglobin and mean increase of IL-10 was 19.23% from its normal value. The results might suggest that hematological and immunological changes would become helpful for early diagnosis of asymptomatic to symptomatic VL conversion. <p class="card-text"><strong>Keywords:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=asymptomatic" title="asymptomatic">asymptomatic</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=epidemiological" title=" epidemiological"> epidemiological</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=symptomatic%20visceral%20leishmaniasis" title=" symptomatic visceral leishmaniasis"> symptomatic visceral leishmaniasis</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=hemoglobin%20%28gm%25%29" title=" hemoglobin (gm%)"> hemoglobin (gm%)</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=interleukin-10" title=" interleukin-10"> interleukin-10</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=diagnosis" title=" diagnosis"> diagnosis</a> </p> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/99701/endeavor-to-develop-immunological-and-hematological-early-diagnostic-marker-to-check-the-conversion-of-asymptomatic-to-symptomatic-visceral-leishmaniasis" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">Procedia</a> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/99701.pdf" target="_blank" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">PDF</a> <span class="bg-info text-light px-1 py-1 float-right rounded"> Downloads <span class="badge badge-light">209</span> </span> </div> </div> <div class="card paper-listing mb-3 mt-3"> <h5 class="card-header" style="font-size:.9rem"><span class="badge badge-info">1838</span> Power Integrity Analysis of Power Delivery System in High Speed Digital FPGA Board</h5> <div class="card-body"> <p class="card-text"><strong>Authors:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Anil%20Kumar%20Pandey">Anil Kumar Pandey</a> </p> <p class="card-text"><strong>Abstract:</strong></p> Power plane noise is the most significant source of signal integrity (SI) issues in a high-speed digital design. Herpes simplex virus (HSV) and Rubella are the two serious viral infections, well categorized in TORCH Syndrome. Here we had endeavoured the seroprevalence of co-infection of HSV and Rubella. Systematic tests have been performed to check the virulence pattern of the co-infection. The study was conducted at Department of Virology, Rajendra Memorial Research Institute of Medical Sciences (ICMR), Patna, Bihar, India during January 2018-July 2018. 299 newly cases were attended with the sign and symptoms of HSV and Rubella. After taking written consent forms from all the subjects, blood samples were collected for serological detection. ELISA was performed to detect the presence of IgM antibody level. 12 patients were found to be IgM positive from each HSV and Rubella infection. The findings of our study showed that 6 patients were positive for both HSV and rubella and hence were co-infected. Such co-infection causes severe health problems as it leads to the mortality rate of the patients during viral infectivity. Epidemiologically, proper screening should be needed to check any chance of occurrence of such co-infection in the affected regions in large scale and take suitable preventive approach to decrease the case totality. Concern has to be given to aid proper diagnosis and treatment in order to decrease the spread of HSV and Rubella co-infection. <p class="card-text"><strong>Keywords:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=HSV" title="HSV">HSV</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Rubella" title=" Rubella"> Rubella</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=seroprevalence" title=" seroprevalence"> seroprevalence</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=co-infection" title=" co-infection"> co-infection</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=ELISA" title=" ELISA"> ELISA</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=viral%20infectivity" title=" viral infectivity"> viral infectivity</a> </p> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/99788/seroprevalence-of-herpes-simplex-virus-and-rubella-confection-in-tropical-regions-in-bihar-india" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">Procedia</a> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/99788.pdf" target="_blank" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">PDF</a> <span class="bg-info text-light px-1 py-1 float-right rounded"> Downloads <span class="badge badge-light">214</span> </span> </div> </div> <div class="card paper-listing mb-3 mt-3"> <h5 class="card-header" style="font-size:.9rem"><span class="badge badge-info">1836</span> Avoiding Packet Drop for Improved through Put in the Multi-Hop Wireless N/W</h5> <div class="card-body"> <p class="card-text"><strong>Authors:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Manish%20Kumar%20Rajak">Manish Kumar Rajak</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Sanjay%20Gupta"> Sanjay Gupta</a> </p> <p class="card-text"><strong>Abstract:</strong></p> Mobile ad hoc networks (MANETs) are infrastructure less and intercommunicate using single-hop and multi-hop paths. Network based congestion avoidance which involves managing the queues in the network devices is an integral part of any network. QoS: A set of service requirements that are met by the network while transferring a packet stream from a source to a destination. Especially in MANETs, packet loss results in increased overheads. This paper presents a new algorithm to avoid congestion using one or more queue on nodes and corresponding flow rate decided in advance for each node. When any node attains an initial value of queue then it sends this status to its downstream nodes which in turn uses the pre-decided flow rate of packet transfer to its upstream nodes. The flow rate on each node is adjusted according to the status received from its upstream nodes. This proposed algorithm uses the existing infrastructure to inform to other nodes about its current queue status. <p class="card-text"><strong>Keywords:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=mesh%20networks" title="mesh networks">mesh networks</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=MANET" title=" MANET"> MANET</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=packet%20count" title=" packet count"> packet count</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=threshold" title=" threshold"> threshold</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=throughput" title=" throughput"> throughput</a> </p> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/23702/avoiding-packet-drop-for-improved-through-put-in-the-multi-hop-wireless-nw" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">Procedia</a> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/23702.pdf" target="_blank" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">PDF</a> <span class="bg-info text-light px-1 py-1 float-right rounded"> Downloads <span class="badge badge-light">474</span> </span> </div> </div> <div class="card paper-listing mb-3 mt-3"> <h5 class="card-header" style="font-size:.9rem"><span class="badge badge-info">1835</span> Novel Uses of Discarded Work Rolls of Cold Rolling Mills in Hot Strip Mill of Tata Steel India</h5> <div class="card-body"> <p class="card-text"><strong>Authors:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Uday%20Shanker%20Goel">Uday Shanker Goel</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Vinay%20Vasant%20Mahashabde"> Vinay Vasant Mahashabde</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Biswajit%20Ghosh"> Biswajit Ghosh</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Arvind%20Jha"> Arvind Jha</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Amit%20Kumar"> Amit Kumar</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Sanjay%20Kumar%20Patel"> Sanjay Kumar Patel</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Uma%20Shanker%20Pattanaik"> Uma Shanker Pattanaik</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Vinit%20Kumar%20Shah"> Vinit Kumar Shah</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Chaitanya%20Bhanu"> Chaitanya Bhanu</a> </p> <p class="card-text"><strong>Abstract:</strong></p> Pinch rolls of the Hot Mills must possess resistance to wear, thermal stability, high thermal conductivity and through hardness. Conventionally, pinch rolls have been procured either as new ones or refurbished ones. Discarded Work Rolls from the Cold Mill were taken and machined inhouse at Tata Steel to be used subsequently as the bottom pinch rolls of the Hot Mill. The hardness of the scrapped work rolls from CRM is close to 55HRC and the typical composition is ( C - 0.8% , Mn - 0.40 % , Si - 0.40% , Cr - 3.5% , Mo - 0.5% & V - 0.1% ).The Innovation was the use of a roll which would otherwise have been otherwise discarded as scrap. Also, the innovation helped in using the scrapped roll which had better wear and heat resistance. In a conventional Pinch roil (Hardness 50 HRC and typical chemistry - C - 10% , Mo+Co+V+Nb ~ 5 % ) , Pick-up is a condition whereby foreign material becomes adhered to the surface of the pinch roll during service. The foreign material is usually adhered metal from the actual product being rolled. The main attributes of the weld overlay rolls are wear resistance and crack resistance. However, the weld overlay roll has a strong tendency for strip pick-up particularly in the area of bead overlap. However, the greatest disadvantage is the depth of weld deposit, which is less than half of the usable shell thickness in most mills. Because of this, the stainless rolls require re-welding on a routine basis. By providing a significantly cheaper in house and more robust alternative of the existing bottom pinch rolls , this innovation results in significant lower worries for the roll shop. Pinch rolls now don't have to be sent outside Jamshedpur for refurbishment or for procuring new ones. Scrapped rolls from adjacent Cold Mill are procured and sent for machining to our Machine Shop inside Tata Steel works in Jamshedpur. This is far more convenient than the older methodology. The idea is also being deployed to the other hot mills of Tata Steel. Multiple campaigns have been tried out at both down coilers of Hot Strip with significantly lower wear. <p class="card-text"><strong>Keywords:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=hot%20rolling%20flat" title="hot rolling flat">hot rolling flat</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=cold%20mill%20work%20roll" title=" cold mill work roll"> cold mill work roll</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=hot%20strip%20pinch%20roll" title=" hot strip pinch roll"> hot strip pinch roll</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=strip%20surface" title=" strip surface"> strip surface</a> </p> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/166767/novel-uses-of-discarded-work-rolls-of-cold-rolling-mills-in-hot-strip-mill-of-tata-steel-india" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">Procedia</a> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/166767.pdf" target="_blank" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">PDF</a> <span class="bg-info text-light px-1 py-1 float-right rounded"> Downloads <span class="badge badge-light">128</span> </span> </div> </div> <div class="card paper-listing mb-3 mt-3"> <h5 class="card-header" style="font-size:.9rem"><span class="badge badge-info">1834</span> Sustainability in Retaining Wall Construction with Geosynthetics</h5> <div class="card-body"> <p class="card-text"><strong>Authors:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Sateesh%20Kumar%20Pisini">Sateesh Kumar Pisini</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Swetha%20Priya%20Darshini"> Swetha Priya Darshini</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Sanjay%20Kumar%20Shukla"> Sanjay Kumar Shukla</a> </p> <p class="card-text"><strong>Abstract:</strong></p> This paper seeks to present a research study on sustainability in construction of retaining wall using geosynthetics. Sustainable construction is a way for the building and infrastructure industry to move towards achieving sustainable development, taking into account environmental, socioeconomic and cultural issues. Geotechnical engineering, being very resource intensive, warrants an environmental sustainability study, but a quantitative framework for assessing the sustainability of geotechnical practices, particularly at the planning and design stages, does not exist. In geotechnical projects, major economic issues to be addressed are in the design and construction of stable slopes and retaining structures within space constraints. In this paper, quantitative indicators for assessing the environmental sustainability of retaining wall with geosynthetics are compared with conventional concrete retaining wall through life cycle assessment (LCA). Geosynthetics can make a real difference in sustainable construction techniques and contribute to development in developing countries in particular. Their imaginative application can result in considerable cost savings over the use of conventional designs and materials. The acceptance of geosynthetics in reinforced retaining wall construction has been triggered by a number of factors, including aesthetics, reliability, simple construction techniques, good seismic performance, and the ability to tolerate large deformations without structural distress. Reinforced retaining wall with geosynthetics is the best cost-effective and eco-friendly solution as compared with traditional concrete retaining wall construction. This paper presents an analysis of the theme of sustainability applied to the design and construction of traditional concrete retaining wall and presenting a cost-effective and environmental solution using geosynthetics. <p class="card-text"><strong>Keywords:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=sustainability" title="sustainability">sustainability</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=retaining%20wall" title=" retaining wall"> retaining wall</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=geosynthetics" title=" geosynthetics"> geosynthetics</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=life%20cycle%20assessment" title=" life cycle assessment"> life cycle assessment</a> </p> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/81842/sustainability-in-retaining-wall-construction-with-geosynthetics" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">Procedia</a> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/81842.pdf" target="_blank" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">PDF</a> <span class="bg-info text-light px-1 py-1 float-right rounded"> Downloads <span class="badge badge-light">2060</span> </span> </div> </div> <div class="card paper-listing mb-3 mt-3"> <h5 class="card-header" style="font-size:.9rem"><span class="badge badge-info">1833</span> Lubricating Grease from Waste Cooking Oil and Waste Motor Sludge</h5> <div class="card-body"> <p class="card-text"><strong>Authors:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Aseem%20Rajvanshi">Aseem Rajvanshi</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Pankaj%20Kumar%20Pandey"> Pankaj Kumar Pandey</a> </p> <p class="card-text"><strong>Abstract:</strong></p> Increase in population has increased the demand of energy to fulfill all its needs. This will result in burden on fossil fuels especially crude oil. Waste oil due to its disposal problem creates environmental degradation. In this context, this paper studies utilization of waste cooking oil and waste motor sludge for making lubricating grease. Experimental studies have been performed by variation in time and concentration of mixture of waste cooking oil and waste motor sludge. The samples were analyzed using penetration test (ASTM D-217), dropping point (ASTM D-566), work penetration (ASTM D-217) and copper strip test (ASTM D-408). Among 6 samples, sample 6 gives the best results with a good drop point and a fine penetration value. The dropping point and penetration test values were found to be 205 &deg;C and 315, respectively. The penetration value falls under the category of NLGI (National Lubricating Grease Institute) consistency number 1. <p class="card-text"><strong>Keywords:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=crude%20oil" title="crude oil">crude oil</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=copper%20strip%20corrosion%20test" title=" copper strip corrosion test"> copper strip corrosion test</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=dropping%20point" title=" dropping point"> dropping point</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=penetration%20test" title=" penetration test"> penetration test</a> </p> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/55642/lubricating-grease-from-waste-cooking-oil-and-waste-motor-sludge" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">Procedia</a> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/55642.pdf" target="_blank" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">PDF</a> <span class="bg-info text-light px-1 py-1 float-right rounded"> Downloads <span class="badge badge-light">295</span> </span> </div> </div> <div class="card paper-listing mb-3 mt-3"> <h5 class="card-header" style="font-size:.9rem"><span class="badge badge-info">1832</span> Design of Compact Dual-Band Planar Antenna for WLAN Systems </h5> <div class="card-body"> <p class="card-text"><strong>Authors:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Anil%20Kumar%20Pandey">Anil Kumar Pandey</a> </p> <p class="card-text"><strong>Abstract:</strong></p> A compact planar monopole antenna with dual-band operation suitable for wireless local area network (WLAN) application is presented in this paper. The antenna occupies an overall area of 18 &times;12 mm2. The antenna is fed by a coplanar waveguide (CPW) transmission line and it combines two folded strips, which radiates at 2.4 and 5.2 GHz. In the proposed antenna, by optimally selecting the antenna dimensions, dual-band resonant modes with a much wider impedance matching at the higher band can be produced. Prototypes of the obtained optimized design have been simulated using EM solver. The simulated results explore good dual-band operation with -10 dB impedance bandwidths of 50 MHz and 2400 MHz at bands of 2.4 and 5.2 GHz, respectively, which cover the 2.4/5.2/5.8 GHz WLAN operating bands. Good antenna performances such as radiation patterns and antenna gains over the operating bands have also been observed. The antenna with a compact size of 18&times;12&times;1.6 mm3 is designed on an FR4 substrate with a dielectric constant of 4.4. <p class="card-text"><strong>Keywords:</strong> <a
