better than gold or silver.<p> <A name="3"></a><span class="reftext"><a href="/parallel/proverbs/22-2.htm#aramaic"><b>2</b></a></span>The rich and the poor meet each other and LORD JEHOVAH made both of them.<p> <A name="4"></a><span class="reftext"><a href="/parallel/proverbs/22-3.htm#aramaic"><b>3</b></a></span>A prudent one sees an evil man being scourged and is powerfully instructed, but fools pass by him and suffer damage.<p> <A name="5"></a><span class="reftext"><a href="/parallel/proverbs/22-4.htm#aramaic"><b>4</b></a></span>The pursuers of humility: the awe of LORD JEHOVAH, wealth, honor and Life.<p> <A name="6"></a><span class="reftext"><a href="/parallel/proverbs/22-5.htm#aramaic"><b>5</b></a></span>Nets and snares are in the perverse way, and he that keeps his soul will be far from them.<p> <A name="7"></a><span class="reftext"><a href="/parallel/proverbs/22-6.htm#aramaic"><b>6</b></a></span>He that reproves a boy concerning the beginning of his way, even if he becomes old, he will not turn away from it.<p> <A name="8"></a><span class="reftext"><a href="/parallel/proverbs/22-7.htm#aramaic"><b>7</b></a></span>A rich man will be authorized by the poor and the Servant will lend to him who was his lender.<p> <A name="9"></a><span class="reftext"><a href="/parallel/proverbs/22-8.htm#aramaic"><b>8</b></a></span>He that sows evil will reap fraud, and the scepter of his anger will be destroyed.<p> <A name="10"></a><span class="reftext"><a href="/parallel/proverbs/22-9.htm#aramaic"><b>9</b></a></span>Whose ever eye is good will be blessed, because he gives of his said, "There is a lion in the road, and look, a killer is in the streets!"<p> <A name="15"></a><span class="reftext"><a href="/parallel/proverbs/22-14.htm#aramaic"><b>14</b></a></span>The mouth of an estranged woman is a deep ditch, and he with whom LORD JEHOVAH is angry falls there.<p> <A name="16"></a><span class="reftext"><a href="/parallel/proverbs/22-15.htm#aramaic"><b>15</b></a></span>Senselessness disturbs the heart of a boy and a rod of discipline puts it far from him.<p> <A name="17"></a><span class="reftext"><a href="/parallel/proverbs/22-16.htm#aramaic"><b>16</b></a></span>He that harms the poor increases his own affliction and he that gives to the rich suffers loss to his soul.<p> <A name="18"></a><span class="reftext"><a href="/parallel/proverbs/22-17.htm#aramaic"><b>17</b></a></span>Bend your ear and hear the words of the wise and apply your heart to knowledge.<p> <A name="19"></a><span class="reftext"><a href="/parallel/proverbs/22-18.htm#aramaic"><b>18</b></a></span>Because they are sweet, keep them in your gut, and they will form together upon your lips.<p> <A name="20"></a><span class="reftext"><a href="/parallel/proverbs/22-19.htm#aramaic"><b>19</b></a></span>I have informed you today that your trust may be upon LORD JEHOVAH.<p> <A name="21"></a><span class="reftext"><a href="/parallel/proverbs/22-21.htm#aramaic"><b>21</b></a></span>That I may make known to you counsel, knowledge, stillness and the words of truth, that you may return the word of truth to him that sends you.<p> <A name="23"></a><span class="reftext"><a href="/parallel/proverbs/22-22.htm#aramaic"><b>22</b></a></span>Do not oppress the poor because he is poor and do not humiliate the afflicted one in the gate.<p> <A name="24"></a><span class="reftext"><a href="/parallel/proverbs/22-23.htm#aramaic"><b>23</b></a></span>Because LORD JEHOVAH decides their judgment and the humiliation of their souls is repaid.<p> <A name="25"></a><span class="reftext"><a href="/parallel/proverbs/22-24.htm#aramaic"><b>24</b></a></span>You shall not be a friend to an angry man and do not enter with a man that is filled with passion,<p> <A name="26"></a><span class="reftext"><a href="/parallel/proverbs/22-25.htm#aramaic"><b>25</b></a></span>Lest you learn his laws and you find a scandal to your soul.<p> <A name="27"></a><span class="reftext"><a href="/parallel/proverbs/22-26.htm#aramaic"><b>26</b></a></span>Do not give yourself as security because you are shamed before people.<p> <A name="28"></a><span class="reftext"><a href="/parallel/proverbs/22-27.htm#aramaic"><b>27</b></a></span>If you cannot pay, they will take the bed from under you.<p> <A name="29"></a><span class="reftext"><a
