Now more than ever! Paramount has started to date their 2016 release calendar, and besides the films that are already in production or have been announced, they’re now saying that yes, we’ll be getting a fifth <em><strong>Transformers</strong></em> film in two years’ time.</p> <p><span id="more-187577"></span></p> <p>So Paramount has already announced that 2015 will offer the <em><strong>SpongeBob SquarePants</strong> </em>sequel <em><strong>Sponge out of Water </strong></em>(due February 6), <a title="More About Terminator 5" href="http://web.archive.org/web/20140625044807/http://screencrave.com/tag/Terminator-5/"><em><strong>Terminator: Genesis</strong></em></a> (due July 1), a new <em><strong>Friday the 13th </strong></em>(due November 13), and <a title="More About Mission Impossible 5" href="http://web.archive.org/web/20140625044807/http://screencrave.com/tag/Mission-Impossible-5/"><em><strong>Mission: Impossible 5</strong></em></a> (due December 25), with <em><strong>Hot Tub Time Machine 2 </strong></em><strong></strong>and <em><strong>The Gambler</strong> </em>also plotted to come out that year. 2016 will offer <em><strong>Ben-Hur</strong> (</em>as directed by Timur Bekmambetov) on February 26, <em><strong>Beverly Hills Cop 4</strong></em> on March 25, with <em><strong>Transformers 5</strong></em>, <em><strong>G.I. Joe 3</strong></em>, <em><strong>Hansel and Gretel: With Hunters 2</strong></em> and <a title="More About Star Trek 3" href="http://web.archive.org/web/20140625044807/http://screencrave.com/tag/Star-Trek-3/"><em><strong>Star Trek 3</strong></em></a> all scheduled to be released that year at some point.</p> <p>The big news of this is <em><strong>Transformers 5</strong> </em>because director <a title="More About Michael Bay" href="http://web.archive.org/web/20140625044807/http://screencrave.com/tag/Michael-Bay/">Michael Bay</a> and company haven’t announced directly that they’re coming back for a fifth film, though star <a title="More About Mark Wahlberg" href="http://web.archive.org/web/20140625044807/http://screencrave.com/tag/Mark-Wahlberg/">Mark Wahlberg</a> has been saying “maybe” a lot lately and the word was that <a title="More About Transformers 4" href="http://web.archive.org/web/20140625044807/http://screencrave.com/tag/Transformers-4/"><em><strong>Transformers 4</strong></em></a> was the start of a new trilogy. This either means that the writers have already devised a new story, or that Paramount is being a little aggressive. It would also likely mean that shooting would commence by April of next year. But who needs a script or good story? The other titles have all been rumored or are in active development, so it’s no surprise, and Paramount (who were speaking at CineEurope according to <a href="http://web.archive.org/web/20140625044807/http://www.hollywoodreporter.com/news/cineeurope-paramount-screens-transformers-age-712745" target="_blank">The Hollywood Reporter</a>) were bound to play up their sequels.
