But this comes at a massive development cost and lost business opportunities. According to the Gartner report, 85% of data science projects fail, and one of the factors impacting this is not paying attention to Model Observability. Model Observability helps the developers and operators to pinpoint the model performance issues data drift and help identify root cause of issues. This paper focuses on providing insights into incorporating model observability in model development and operationalizing it in production. <p class="card-text"><strong>Keywords:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=model%20observability" title="model observability">model observability</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=monitoring" title=" monitoring"> monitoring</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=drift%20detection" title=" drift detection"> drift detection</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=ML%20observability%20platform" title=" ML observability platform"> ML observability platform</a> </p> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/174152/model-observability-a-monitoring-solution-for-machine-learning-models" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">Procedia</a> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/174152.pdf" target="_blank" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">PDF</a> <span class="bg-info text-light px-1 py-1 float-right rounded"> Downloads <span class="badge badge-light">112</span> </span> </div> </div> <div class="card paper-listing mb-3 mt-3"> <h5 class="card-header" style="font-size:.9rem"><span class="badge badge-info">1290</span> Opacity Synthesis with Orwellian Observers</h5> <div class="card-body"> <p class="card-text"><strong>Authors:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Moez%20Yeddes">Moez Yeddes</a> </p> <p class="card-text"><strong>Abstract:</strong></p> The property of opacity is widely used in the formal verification of security in computer systems and protocols. Opacity is a general language-theoretic scheme of many security properties of systems. Opacity is parametrized with framework in which several security properties of a system can be expressed. A secret behaviour of a system is opaque if a passive attacker can never deduce its occurrence from the system observation. Instead of considering the case of static observability where the set of observable events is fixed off-line or dynamic observability where the set of observable events changes over time depending on the history of the trace, we introduce Orwellian partial observability where unobservable events are not revealed provided that downgrading events never occurs in the future of the trace. Orwellian partial observability is needed to model intransitive information flow. This Orwellian observability is knwon as ipurge function. We show in previous work how to verify opacity for regular secret is opaque for a regular language L w.r.t. an Orwellian projection is PSPACE-complete while it has been proved undecidable even for a regular language L w.r.t. a general Orwellian observation function. In this paper, we address two problems of opacification of a regular secret ϕ for a regular language L w.r.t. an Orwellian projection: Given L and a secret ϕ ∈ L, the first problem consist to compute some minimal regular super-language M of L, if it exists, such that ϕ is opaque for M and the second consists to compute the supremal sub-language M′ of L such that ϕ is opaque for M′. We derive both language-theoretic characterizations and algorithms to solve these two dual problems. <p class="card-text"><strong>Keywords:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=security%20policies" title="security policies">security policies</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=opacity" title=" opacity"> opacity</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=formal%20verification" title=" formal verification"> formal verification</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=orwellian%0D%0Aobservation" title=" orwellian observation"> orwellian observation</a> </p> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/41268/opacity-synthesis-with-orwellian-observers" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">Procedia</a> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/41268.pdf" target="_blank" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">PDF</a> <span class="bg-info text-light px-1 py-1 float-right rounded"> Downloads <span class="badge badge-light">225</span> </span> </div> </div> <div class="card paper-listing mb-3 mt-3"> <h5 class="card-header" style="font-size:.9rem"><span class="badge badge-info">1289</span> Optimal Placement of Phasor Measurement Units (PMU) Using Mixed Integer Programming (MIP) for Complete Observability in Power System Network</h5> <div class="card-body"> <p class="card-text"><strong>Authors:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Harshith%20Gowda%20K.%20S">Harshith Gowda K. It is necessary to have complete observability of the power system while minimizing the cost. For this purpose, the optimal location of the phasor measurement units in the power system is essential. In a bus system, zero injection buses need to be evaluated to minimize the number of PMUs. In this paper, the optimization problem is formulated using mixed integer programming to obtain the optimal location of the PMUs with increased observability. The formulation consists of with and without zero injection bus as constraints. The formulated problem is simulated using a CPLEX solver in the GAMS software package. The proposed method is tested on IEEE 30, IEEE 39, IEEE 57, and IEEE 118 bus systems. The results obtained show that the number of PMUs required is minimal with increased observability. <p class="card-text"><strong>Keywords:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=PMU" title="PMU">PMU</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=observability" title=" observability"> observability</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=mixed%20integer%20programming%20%28MIP%29" title=" mixed integer programming (MIP)"> mixed integer programming (MIP)</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=zero%20injection%20buses%20%28ZIB%29" title=" zero injection buses (ZIB)"> zero injection buses (ZIB)</a> </p> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/143686/optimal-placement-of-phasor-measurement-units-pmu-using-mixed-integer-programming-mip-for-complete-observability-in-power-system-network" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">Procedia</a> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/143686.pdf" target="_blank" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">PDF</a> <span class="bg-info text-light px-1 py-1 float-right rounded"> Downloads <span class="badge badge-light">165</span> </span> </div> </div> <div class="card paper-listing mb-3 mt-3"> <h5 class="card-header" style="font-size:.9rem"><span class="badge badge-info">1288</span> Optimal Placement of Phasor Measurement Units Using Gravitational Search Method</h5> <div class="card-body"> <p class="card-text"><strong>Authors:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Satyendra%20Pratap%20Singh">Satyendra Pratap Singh</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=S.%20P.%20Singh"> S. The objective of proposed algorithm is to minimize the total number of PMUs at the power system buses, which in turn minimize installation cost of the PMUs. In this algorithm, the searcher agents are collection of masses which interact with each other using Newton’s laws of gravity and motion. This new Gravitational Search Algorithm based method has been applied to the IEEE 14-bus, IEEE 30-bus and IEEE 118-bus test systems. Case studies reveal optimal number of PMUs with better observability by proposed method. <p class="card-text"><strong>Keywords:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=gravitational%20search%20algorithm%20%28GSA%29" title="gravitational search algorithm (GSA)">gravitational search algorithm (GSA)</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=law%20of%20motion" title=" law of motion"> law of motion</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=law%20of%20gravity" title=" law of gravity"> law of gravity</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=observability" title=" observability"> observability</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=phasor%20measurement%20unit" title=" phasor measurement unit"> phasor measurement unit</a> </p> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/24189/optimal-placement-of-phasor-measurement-units-using-gravitational-search-method" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">Procedia</a> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/24189.pdf" target="_blank" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">PDF</a> <span class="bg-info text-light px-1 py-1 float-right rounded"> Downloads <span class="badge badge-light">507</span> </span> </div> </div> <div class="card paper-listing mb-3 mt-3"> <h5 class="card-header" style="font-size:.9rem"><span class="badge badge-info">1287</span> Defects Estimation of Embedded Systems Components by a Bond Graph Approach</h5> <div class="card-body"> <p class="card-text"><strong>Authors:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=I.%20Gahlouz">I. The study of the causal and structural features of the system (controllability, observability, finite structure, and infinite structure) based on the Bond Graph approach was hence fulfilled in order to design an unknown inputs observer which is used for the system component fault estimation. <p class="card-text"><strong>Keywords:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=estimation" title="estimation">estimation</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=bond%20graph" title=" bond graph"> bond graph</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=controllability" title=" controllability"> controllability</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=observability" title=" observability"> observability</a> </p> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/42724/defects-estimation-of-embedded-systems-components-by-a-bond-graph-approach" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">Procedia</a> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/42724.pdf" target="_blank" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">PDF</a> <span class="bg-info text-light px-1 py-1 float-right rounded"> Downloads <span class="badge badge-light">413</span> </span> </div> </div> <div class="card paper-listing mb-3 mt-3"> <h5 class="card-header" style="font-size:.9rem"><span class="badge badge-info">1286</span> On the Relation between λ-Symmetries and μ-Symmetries of Partial Differential Equations</h5> <div class="card-body"> <p class="card-text"><strong>Authors:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Teoman%20Ozer">Teoman Ozer</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Ozlem%20Orhan"> Ozlem Orhan</a> </p> <p class="card-text"><strong>Abstract:</strong></p> This study deals with symmetry group properties and conservation laws of partial differential equations. The effects of partial shadow on the energy yield of conventional mono-crystalline and multi-crystalline PV modules have been researched for a long time. With deployment of new thin-film solar PV modules in the market, it is important to understand the performance of new PV modules operating under the partial shadow in the tropical zone. This paper addresses the impacts of different partial shadowing on the operating characteristics of four different types of solar PV modules that include multi-crystalline, amorphous thin-film, CdTe thin-film and CIGS thin-film PV modules. <p class="card-text"><strong>Keywords:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=partial%20shade" title="partial shade">partial shade</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=CdTe" title=" CdTe"> CdTe</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=CIGS" title=" CIGS"> CIGS</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=multi-crystalline%20%28mc-Si%29" title=" multi-crystalline (mc-Si)"> multi-crystalline (mc-Si)</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=amorphous%20silicon%20%28a-Si%29" title=" amorphous silicon (a-Si)"> amorphous silicon (a-Si)</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=bypass%20diode" title=" bypass diode"> bypass diode</a> </p> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/9357/characteristics-of-different-solar-pv-modules-under-partial-shading" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">Procedia</a> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/9357.pdf" target="_blank" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">PDF</a> <span class="bg-info text-light px-1 py-1 float-right rounded"> Downloads <span class="badge badge-light">450</span> </span> </div> </div> <div class="card paper-listing mb-3 mt-3"> <h5 class="card-header" style="font-size:.9rem"><span class="badge badge-info">1284</span> Nadler&#039;s Fixed Point Theorem on Partial Metric Spaces and its Application to a Homotopy Result</h5> <div class="card-body"> <p class="card-text"><strong>Authors:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Hemant%20Kumar%20Pathak">Hemant Kumar Pathak</a> </p> <p class="card-text"><strong>Abstract:</strong></p> In 1994, Matthews (S.G. Matthews, Partial metric topology, in: Proc. 8th Summer Conference on General Topology and Applications, in: Ann. New York Acad. He gave a modified version of the Banach contraction principle, more suitable in this context. In fact, (complete) partial metric spaces constitute a suitable framework to model several distinguished examples of the theory of computation and also to model metric spaces via domain theory. In this paper, we introduce the concept of almost partial Hausdorff metric. We prove a fixed point theorem for multi-valued mappings on partial metric space using the concept of almost partial Hausdorff metric and prove an analogous to the well-known Nadler’s fixed point theorem. These robots collaborate and contribute productively with humans and compensate some shortcomings from human abilities and complement them with their skills. Effective teamwork of humans and robots demands to investigate the critical issue of trust. The field of human-computer interaction (HCI) has already examined trust humans place in technical systems mostly on issues like reliability and accuracy of performance. Early work in the area of expert systems suggested that automatic generation of explanations improved trust and acceptability of these systems. In this work, we augmented a robot with the user-invoked explanation generation proficiency. To measure explanations effect on human’s level of trust, we collected subjective survey measures and behavioral data in a human-robot team task into an interactive, adversarial and partial information environment. Starting from a centralized economies, we use the ZM-W model to analyze the fiscal competition and coordination among three countries. We find that the asymmetry of jurisdictions facilitates partial tax harmonization between jurisdictions when these asymmetries are not too large. Furthermore, when the asymmetries are large enough, the level of labor tax plays an important role in the decision of decentralize capital tax. Accordingly, decentralization is achievable when labor tax is low. This result indicates that decentralization and partial tax harmonization between jurisdictions can be possible results in order to fight the negative externalities from fiscal competition, and more in the European Union countries where the asymmetries are substantial. <p class="card-text"><strong>Keywords:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=centralization" title="centralization">centralization</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=decentralization" title=" decentralization"> decentralization</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=fiscal%20competition" title=" fiscal competition"> fiscal competition</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=partial%20tax%20harmonization" title=" partial tax harmonization"> partial tax harmonization</a> </p> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/75610/tax-competition-and-partial-tax-coordination-under-fiscal-decentralization" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">Procedia</a> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/75610.pdf" target="_blank" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">PDF</a> <span class="bg-info text-light px-1 py-1 float-right rounded"> Downloads <span class="badge badge-light">245</span> </span> </div> </div> <div class="card paper-listing mb-3 mt-3"> <h5 class="card-header" style="font-size:.9rem"><span class="badge badge-info">1279</span> Rationalized Haar Transforms Approach to Design of Observer for Control Systems with Unknown Inputs</h5> <div class="card-body"> <p class="card-text"><strong>Authors:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Joon-Hoon%20Park">Joon-Hoon Park</a> </p> <p class="card-text"><strong>Abstract:</strong></p> The fundamental concept of observability is important in both theoretical and practical points of modern control systems. In modern control theory, a control system has criteria for determining the design solution exists for the system parameters and design objectives. The idea of observability relates to the condition of observing or estimating the state variables from the output variables that is generally measurable. To design closed-loop control system, the practical problems of implementing the feedback of the state variables must be considered and implementing state feedback control problem has been existed in this case. All the state variables are not available, so it is requisite to design and implement an observer that will estimate the state variables form the output parameters. However sometimes unknown inputs are presented in control systems as practical cases. This paper presents a design method and algorithm for observer of control system with unknown input parameters based on Rationalized Haar transform. The proposed method is more advantageous than the other numerical method. <p class="card-text"><strong>Keywords:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=orthogonal%20functions" title="orthogonal functions">orthogonal functions</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=rationalized%20Haar%20transforms" title=" rationalized Haar transforms"> rationalized Haar transforms</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=control%20system%20observer" title=" control system observer"> control system observer</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=algebraic%20method" title=" algebraic method"> algebraic method</a> </p> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/69296/rationalized-haar-transforms-approach-to-design-of-observer-for-control-systems-with-unknown-inputs" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">Procedia</a> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/69296.pdf" target="_blank" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">PDF</a> <span class="bg-info text-light px-1 py-1 float-right rounded"> Downloads <span class="badge badge-light">370</span> </span> </div> </div> <div class="card paper-listing mb-3 mt-3"> <h5 class="card-header" style="font-size:.9rem"><span class="badge badge-info">1278</span> Effect of Non-Invasive Electrical Stimulation on Partial Hearing Loss: Pilot Study</h5> <div class="card-body"> <p class="card-text"><strong>Authors:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Geetanjali%20Saggar">Geetanjali Saggar</a> </p> <p class="card-text"><strong>Abstract:</strong></p> Background: Partial hearing loss is the inability to hear effectively as a normal hearing individual whose hearing threshold is 20 dB or better in both ears. Individuals with partial hearing loss may benefit from non-invasive electrical stimulation as a method of therapy and possible intervention. Objective: The project aims to assess and relate the efficacy of electrical stimulation on individuals with partial hearing loss. The study's goal was to evaluate the different sorts of non-invasive electrical stimulation in tinnitus and hearing loss in order to build the framework for future research. Method: In this pilot study, a total of five patients of age group above 50 years were selected with partial hearing loss. The electrical modality of Repetitive Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation (RTMS) was used among the patients and was evaluated using gold questionnaires- HHIA and APHAB for hearing at intervals of 0-7-14 days. The statistical data was analyzed by SPSS software-16. Results: There were not much significant changes in the hearing of the patients when non-invasive electrical modality was applied as an intervention in the partial hearing loss condition. However, there was minimal change in the daily functioning of the patient with the application of intervention. Conclusion: This study concluded that non-invasive electrical stimulation had minimal to no effect on the partial hearing of the patients. <p class="card-text"><strong>Keywords:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=non-invasive" title="non-invasive">non-invasive</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=hearing%20loss" title=" hearing loss"> hearing loss</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=transcranial%20magnetic%20stimulation" title=" transcranial magnetic stimulation"> transcranial magnetic stimulation</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=partial%20deafness" title=" partial deafness"> partial deafness</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=transcranial%20direct%20current%20stimulation" title=" transcranial direct current stimulation"> transcranial direct current stimulation</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=tinnitus" title=" tinnitus"> tinnitus</a> </p> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/193497/effect-of-non-invasive-electrical-stimulation-on-partial-hearing-loss-pilot-study" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">Procedia</a> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/193497.pdf" target="_blank" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">PDF</a> <span class="bg-info text-light px-1 py-1 float-right rounded"> Downloads <span class="badge badge-light">11</span> </span> </div> </div> <div class="card paper-listing mb-3 mt-3"> <h5 class="card-header" style="font-size:.9rem"><span class="badge badge-info">1277</span> Customer Adoption and Attitudes in Mobile Banking in Sri Lanka</h5> <div class="card-body"> <p class="card-text"><strong>Authors:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Prasansha%20Kumari"> Prasansha Kumari</a> </p> <p class="card-text"><strong>Abstract:</strong></p> This paper intends to identify and analyze customer adoption and attitudes towards mobile banking facilities. The study uses six perceived characteristics of innovation that can be used to form a favorable or unfavorable attitude toward an innovation, namely: Relative advantage, compatibility, complexity, trailability, risk, and observability. Collected data were analyzed using Pearson Chi-Square test. The results showed that mobile bank users were predominantly males. There is a growing trend among young, educated customers towards converting to mobile banking in Sri Lanka. The research outcomes suggested that all the six factors are statistically highly significant in influencing mobile banking adoption and attitude formation towards mobile banking in Sri Lanka. The major reasons for adopting mobile banking services are the accessibility and availability of services regardless of time and place. Over the 75 percent of the respondents mentioned that savings in time and effort and low financial costs of conducting mobile banking were advantageous. Issue of security was found to be the most important factor that motivated consumer adoption and attitude formation towards mobile banking. Main barriers to mobile banking were the lack of technological skills, the traditional cash‐carry banking culture, and the lack of awareness and insufficient guidance to using mobile banking. <p class="card-text"><strong>Keywords:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=compatibility" title="compatibility">compatibility</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=complexity" title=" complexity"> complexity</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=mobile%20banking" title=" mobile banking"> mobile banking</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=observability" title=" observability"> observability</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=risk" title=" risk"> risk</a> </p> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/40999/customer-adoption-and-attitudes-in-mobile-banking-in-sri-lanka" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">Procedia</a> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/40999.pdf" target="_blank" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">PDF</a> <span class="bg-info text-light px-1 py-1 float-right rounded"> Downloads <span class="badge badge-light">203</span> </span> </div> </div> <div class="card paper-listing mb-3 mt-3"> <h5 class="card-header" style="font-size:.9rem"><span class="badge badge-info">1276</span> Algorithms Utilizing Wavelet to Solve Various Partial Differential Equations</h5> <div class="card-body"> <p class="card-text"><strong>Authors:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=K.%20P.%20Mredula">K. System inertia with high wind penetration is decreasing when conventional thermal generators are gradually replaced by wind turbines, which do not naturally contribute to inertia response. The power imbalance caused by wind power or demand fluctuations leads to the instability of system frequency. Accordingly, the need to attach the supplementary virtual inertia control to wind farms (WFs) strongly arises. When multi-wind farms are connected to the grid simultaneously, the selection of which critical WFs to install the virtual inertia control is greatly important to enhance the stability of system frequency. By building the small signal model of wind power systems considering frequency regulation, the installation locations are identified by the geometric measures of the mode observability of WFs. In addition, this paper takes the impacts of grid topology and selection of feedback control signals into consideration. Finally, simulations are conducted on a multi-wind farms power system and the results demonstrate that the designed virtual inertia control method can effectively assist the frequency regulation. <p class="card-text"><strong>Keywords:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=frequency%20regulation" title="frequency regulation">frequency regulation</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=virtual%20inertia%20control" title=" virtual inertia control"> virtual inertia control</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=installation%20locations" title=" installation locations"> installation locations</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=observability" title=" observability"> observability</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=wind%20farms" title=" wind farms"> wind farms</a> </p> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/44872/selection-of-wind-farms-to-add-virtual-inertia-control-to-assist-the-power-system-frequency-regulation" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">Procedia</a> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/44872.pdf" target="_blank" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">PDF</a> <span class="bg-info text-light px-1 py-1 float-right rounded"> Downloads <span class="badge badge-light">397</span> </span> </div> </div> <div class="card paper-listing mb-3 mt-3"> <h5 class="card-header" style="font-size:.9rem"><span class="badge badge-info">1274</span> Performance Analysis of LINUX Operating System Connected in LAN Using Gumbel-Hougaard Family Copula Distribution</h5> <div class="card-body"> <p class="card-text"><strong>Authors:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=V.%20V.%20Singh">V. In both topologies BUS topology and STAR topology, we have assumed 'n' clients. The system has two types of failure partial failure and complete failure. Further the partial failure has been categorized as minor partial failure and major partial failure. It is assumed that minor partial failure degrades the subsystem and the major partial failure brings the subsystem to break down mode. The system can completely failed due to failure of server hacking and blocking etc. The system is studied by supplementary variable technique and Laplace transform by taking different types of failure and two types of repairs. The boundary layer velocity and temperature profiles were numerically computed for different values of the spin, viscosity variation, inertia drag force, Eckert, suction/blowing parameters. The partial differential equations were transformed into a system of ordinary differential equations which were solved using the fourth-order Runge-Kutta method. This paper considered the effect of partial slip and spin parameters on the swirling velocity profiles which are rarely reported in the literature. Increasing the viscosity variation parameter, spin, partial slip, Eckert number, Darcian drag force parameters reduce swirling velocity profiles. <p class="card-text"><strong>Keywords:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=free%20convection" title="free convection">free convection</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=suction%2Finjection" title=" suction/injection"> suction/injection</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=partial%20slip" title=" partial slip"> partial slip</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=viscous%20dissipation" title=" viscous dissipation"> viscous dissipation</a> </p> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/74530/free-convection-from-a-perforated-spinning-cone-with-heat-generation-temperature-dependent-viscosity-and-partial-slip" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">Procedia</a> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/74530.pdf" target="_blank" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">PDF</a> <span class="bg-info text-light px-1 py-1 float-right rounded"> Downloads <span class="badge badge-light">246</span> </span> </div> </div> <div class="card paper-listing mb-3 mt-3"> <h5 class="card-header" style="font-size:.9rem"><span class="badge badge-info">1271</span> Control of Underactuated Biped Robots Using Event Based Fuzzy Partial Feedback Linearization</h5> <div class="card-body"> <p class="card-text"><strong>Authors:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Omid%20Heydarnia">Omid Heydarnia</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Akbar%20Allahverdizadeh"> Akbar Allahverdizadeh</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Behnam%20Dadashzadeh"> Behnam Dadashzadeh</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=M.%20R.%20Sayyed%20Noorani"> M. The main difficulties are its highly nonlinear dynamics, open-loop instability, and discrete event at the end of the gait. One of the methods to control underactuated systems is the partial feedback linearization, but it is not robust against uncertainties and disturbances that restrict its performance to control biped walking and running. In this paper, fuzzy partial feedback linearization is presented to overcome its drawback. Numerical simulations verify the effectiveness of the proposed method to generate stable and robust biped walking and running gaits. <p class="card-text"><strong>Keywords:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=underactuated%20system" title="underactuated system">underactuated system</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=biped%20robot" title=" biped robot"> biped robot</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=fuzzy%20control" title=" fuzzy control"> fuzzy control</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=partial%20feedback%20linearization" title=" partial feedback linearization"> partial feedback linearization</a> </p> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/53744/control-of-underactuated-biped-robots-using-event-based-fuzzy-partial-feedback-linearization" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">Procedia</a> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/53744.pdf" target="_blank" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">PDF</a> <span class="bg-info text-light px-1 py-1 float-right rounded"> Downloads <span class="badge badge-light">350</span> </span> </div> </div> <div class="card paper-listing mb-3 mt-3"> <h5 class="card-header" style="font-size:.9rem"><span class="badge badge-info">1270</span> The Experiment and Simulation Analysis of the Effect of CO₂ and Steam Addition on Syngas Composition of Natural Gas Non-Catalyst Partial Oxidation</h5> <div class="card-body"> <p class="card-text"><strong>Authors:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Zhenghua%20Dai">Zhenghua Dai</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Jianliang%20Xu"> Jianliang Xu</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Fuchen%20Wang"> Fuchen Wang</a> </p> <p class="card-text"><strong>Abstract:</strong></p> Non-catalyst partial oxidation technology has been widely used to produce syngas by reforming of hydrocarbon, including gas (natural gas, shale gas, refinery gas, coalbed gas, coke oven gas, pyrolysis gas, etc.) and liquid (residual oil, asphalt, deoiled asphalt, biomass oil, etc.). For natural gas non-catalyst partial oxidation, the H₂/CO(v/v) of syngas is about 1.8, which is agreed well with the request of FT synthesis. But for other process, such as carbonylation and glycol, the H₂/CO(v/v) should be close to 1 and 2 respectively. So the syngas composition of non-catalyst partial oxidation should be adjusted to satisfy the request of different chemical synthesis. That means a multi-reforming method by CO₂ and H₂O addition. The natural gas non-catalytic partial oxidation hot model was established. The effects of O₂/CH4 ratio, steam, and CO₂ on the syngas composition were studied. The results of the experiment indicate that the addition of CO₂ and steam into the reformer can be applied to change the syngas H₂/CO ratio. The reactor network model (RN model) was established according to the flow partition of industrial reformer and GRI-Mech 3.0. The RN model results agree well with the industrial data. The effects of steam, CO₂ on the syngas compositions were studied with the RN model. <p class="card-text"><strong>Keywords:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=non-catalyst%20partial%20oxidation" title="non-catalyst partial oxidation">non-catalyst partial oxidation</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=natural%20gas" title=" natural gas"> natural gas</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=H%E2%82%82%2FCO" title=" H₂/CO"> H₂/CO</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=CO%E2%82%82%20and%20H%E2%82%82O%20addition" title=" CO₂ and H₂O addition"> CO₂ and H₂O addition</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=multi-reforming%20method" title=" multi-reforming method"> multi-reforming method</a> </p> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/75168/the-experiment-and-simulation-analysis-of-the-effect-of-co2-and-steam-addition-on-syngas-composition-of-natural-gas-non-catalyst-partial-oxidation" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">Procedia</a> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/75168.pdf" target="_blank" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">PDF</a> <span class="bg-info text-light px-1 py-1 float-right rounded"> Downloads <span class="badge badge-light">212</span> </span> </div> </div> <div class="card paper-listing mb-3 mt-3"> <h5 class="card-header" style="font-size:.9rem"><span class="badge badge-info">1269</span> Thermodynamic Analysis of Ammonia-Water Based Regenerative Rankine Cycle with Partial Evaporation</h5> <div class="card-body"> <p class="card-text"><strong>Authors:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Kyoung%20Hoon%20Kim">Kyoung Hoon Kim</a> </p> <p class="card-text"><strong>Abstract:</strong></p> A thermodynamic analysis of a partial evaporating Rankine cycle with regeneration using zeotropic ammonia-water mixture as a working fluid is presented in this paper. This paper examined two approaches for derivation of Partial Differential Equation (PDE) options price valuation formula for the Heston stochastic volatility model. We obtained various PDE option price valuation formulas using the riskless portfolio method and the application of Feynman-Kac theorem respectively. From the results obtained, we see that the two derived PDEs for Heston model are distinct and non-unique. This establishes the fact of incompleteness in the model for option price valuation. <p class="card-text"><strong>Keywords:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Black-Scholes%20partial%20differential%20equations" title="Black-Scholes partial differential equations">Black-Scholes partial differential equations</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Ito%20process" title=" Ito process"> Ito process</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=option%20price%20valuation" title=" option price valuation"> option price valuation</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=partial%20differential%20equations" title=" partial differential equations"> partial differential equations</a> </p> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/131307/the-non-uniqueness-of-partial-differential-equations-options-price-valuation-formula-for-heston-stochastic-volatility-model" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">Procedia</a> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/131307.pdf" target="_blank" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">PDF</a> <span class="bg-info text-light px-1 py-1 float-right rounded"> Downloads <span class="badge badge-light">145</span> </span> </div> </div> <div class="card paper-listing mb-3 mt-3"> <h5 class="card-header" style="font-size:.9rem"><span class="badge badge-info">1266</span> The Fit of the Partial Pair Distribution Functions of BaMnFeF7 Fluoride Glass Using the Buckingham Potential by the Hybrid RMC Simulation</h5> <div class="card-body"> <p class="card-text"><strong>Authors:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Sidi%20Mohamed%20Mesli">Sidi Mohamed Mesli</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Mohamed%20Habchi"> Mohamed Habchi</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Arslane%20Boudghene%20Stambouli"> Arslane Boudghene Stambouli</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Rafik%20Benallal"> Rafik Benallal</a> </p> <p class="card-text"><strong>Abstract:</strong></p> The BaMnMF7 (M=Fe,V, transition metal fluoride glass, assuming isomorphous replacement) have been structurally studied through the simultaneous simulation of their neutron diffraction patterns by reverse Monte Carlo (RMC) and by the Hybrid Reverse Monte Carlo (HRMC) analysis. This last is applied to remedy the problem of the artificial satellite peaks that appear in the partial pair distribution functions (PDFs) by the RMC simulation. The HRMC simulation is an extension of the RMC algorithm, which introduces an energy penalty term (potential) in acceptance criteria. The idea of this work is to apply the Buckingham potential at the title glass by ignoring the van der Waals terms, in order to make a fit of the partial pair distribution functions and give the most possible realistic features. In the both topologies BUS topology and STAR topology, we have assumed n clients. The system has two types of failures i.e. partial failure and complete failure. Further, the partial failure has been categorized as minor and major partial failure. It is assumed that the minor partial failure degrades the sub-systems and the major partial failure make the subsystem break down mode. The system may completely fail due to failure of server hacking and blocking etc. The system is studied using supplementary variable technique and Laplace transform by using different types of failure and two types of repair. The problem considered represents the governing equation of the nonlinear, large amplitude free vibrations of the hinged shell. A new implementation of the new method is presented to obtain natural frequency and corresponding displacement on the shell. Our purpose is to enhance the ability to solve the mentioned complicated partial differential equation (PDE) with a simple and innovative approach. The results reveal that this new method to solve Danel equation is very effective and simple, and can be applied to other nonlinear partial differential equations. It is necessary to mention that there are some valuable advantages in this way of solving nonlinear differential equations and also most of the sets of partial differential equations can be answered in this manner which in the other methods they have not had acceptable solutions up to now. We can solve equation(s), and consequently, there is no need to utilize similarity solutions which make the solution procedure a time-consuming task. <p class="card-text"><strong>Keywords:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=large%20amplitude" title="large amplitude">large amplitude</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=free%20vibrations" title=" free vibrations"> free vibrations</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=analytical%20solution" title=" analytical solution"> analytical solution</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Danell%20Equation" title=" Danell Equation"> Danell Equation</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=diagram%20of%20phase%20plane" title=" diagram of phase plane "> diagram of phase plane </a> </p> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/66849/study-and-solving-partial-differential-equation-of-danel-equation-in-the-vibration-shells" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">Procedia</a> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/66849.pdf" target="_blank" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">PDF</a> <span class="bg-info text-light px-1 py-1 float-right rounded"> Downloads <span class="badge badge-light">320</span> </span> </div> </div> <div class="card paper-listing mb-3 mt-3"> <h5 class="card-header" style="font-size:.9rem"><span class="badge badge-info">1263</span> Robotic Assisted vs Traditional Laparoscopic Partial Nephrectomy Peri-Operative Outcomes: A Comparative Single Surgeon Study</h5> <div class="card-body"> <p class="card-text"><strong>Authors:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Gerard%20Bray">Gerard Bray</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Derek%20Mao"> Derek Mao</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Arya%20Bahadori"> Arya Bahadori</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Sachinka%20Ranasinghe"> Sachinka Ranasinghe</a> </p> <p class="card-text"><strong>Abstract:</strong></p> The EAU currently recommends partial nephrectomy as the preferred management for localised cT1 renal tumours, irrespective of surgical approach. With the advent of robotic assisted partial nephrectomy, there is growing evidence that warm ischaemia time may be reduced compared to the traditional laparoscopic approach. There is still no clear differences between the two approaches with regards to other peri-operative and oncological outcomes. Current limitations in the field denote the lack of single surgeon series to compare the two approaches as other studies often include multiple operators of different experience levels. To the best of our knowledge, this study is the first single surgeon series comparing peri-operative outcomes of robotic assisted and laparoscopic PN. The current study aims to reduce intra-operator bias while maintaining an adequate sample size to assess the differences in outcomes between the two approaches. We retrospectively compared patient demographics, peri-operative outcomes, and renal function derangements of all partial nephrectomies undertaken by a single surgeon with experience in both laparoscopic and robotic surgery. Warm ischaemia time, length of stay, and acute renal function deterioration were all significantly reduced with robotic partial nephrectomy, compared to laparoscopic nephrectomy. This study highlights the benefits of robotic partial nephrectomy. Further prospective studies with larger sample sizes would be valuable additions to the current literature. <p class="card-text"><strong>Keywords:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=partial%20nephrectomy" title="partial nephrectomy">partial nephrectomy</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=robotic%20assisted%20partial%20nephrectomy" title=" robotic assisted partial nephrectomy"> robotic assisted partial nephrectomy</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=warm%20ischaemia%20time" title=" warm ischaemia time"> warm ischaemia time</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=peri-operative%20outcomes" title=" peri-operative outcomes"> peri-operative outcomes</a> </p> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/145138/robotic-assisted-vs-traditional-laparoscopic-partial-nephrectomy-peri-operative-outcomes-a-comparative-single-surgeon-study" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">Procedia</a> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/145138.pdf" target="_blank" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">PDF</a> <span class="bg-info text-light px-1 py-1 float-right rounded"> Downloads <span class="badge badge-light">141</span> </span> </div> </div> <div class="card paper-listing mb-3 mt-3"> <h5 class="card-header" style="font-size:.9rem"><span class="badge badge-info">1262</span> Partial Knowledge Transfer Between the Source Problem and the Target Problem in Genetic Algorithms</h5> <div class="card-body"> <p class="card-text"><strong>Authors:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Terence%20Soule">Terence Soule</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Tami%20Al%20Ghamdi"> Tami Al Ghamdi</a> </p> <p class="card-text"><strong>Abstract:</strong></p> To study how the partial knowledge transfer may affect the Genetic Algorithm (GA) performance, we model the Transfer Learning (TL) process using GA as the model solver.
