太谷县的枣树经过多年更新嫁接，逐渐改种为“壶瓶枣”。这种枣树的优点是树冠大，产量高，寿命长，平均每株产量50公斤以上。壶瓶枣分布于海拔800米以上沿南同蒲路南侧太谷南山的北麓。壶瓶枣，果实大，长倒卵形，果面光滑，皮薄，呈深红色，肉厚呈白绿色，质地脆而松、味甜、汁多，鲜枣含糖量30.35%，含酸量0.57%，含VC491.3mg，干枣含糖量71.38%，含酸量3.15%，果核极小，部分核软化，还可食用，维他命含量也很高，含有环磷酸甘及山楂酸等成份，均有抑制癌细胞的效果，也就是说红枣有很好的防癌功效，是适合现代环境的健康食品。民间有“每日食三枣，一辈子不显老”的说法，长期食用，对增进人体健康有重要作用。</P><P align=center><IMG alt="" src="https://p1.cncnimg.cn/o/f/info_4768_0.jpg" border=0></P><P align=center>太谷壶瓶枣 </P><P><STRONG>砂子饼</STRONG><BR> 砂子饼，亦名疤饼。这种疤饼，直径一般是26厘米到33厘米，饼既薄而且脆，饼脸用卵石烙成，凸凹不平，因而有“疤饼”之称。 烙制疤饼时，先将面粉、食油、鸡蛋、盐、五香粉等原料和起，用擀面杖擀成又圆又薄的饼坯，把平底鏊置于火上加热，再把大小不一的河中捡来的卵石洗净，放在平底缝里，等卵石烧到极热以后，把饼坯放在烧热的石子上用文火烤熟即成。这种饼的原料配比，可按食用需要而定，但食油不可多放，以免影响存放。如果喜欢甜食，可加糖去盐制成精疤饼。 </P><P><STRONG>平遥牛肉</STRONG><BR> 从《平遥县志》看，平遥牛肉源于汉代，明代已负盛名。平遥牛肉历史悠久，最早由何人创始，史无记载。清朝先后在平遥城内开业的兴盛雷、自立成牛肉铺享有很高声誉。平遥牛肉就是继承兴盛雷、自立成传统风味而发扬光大的。 平遥牛肉制作工艺独特，色泽红润，绵香可口，有“肥而不腻，瘦而不柴”之特点。早在１９５６年，在北京全国食品博览会上，平遥牛肉就被评为全国名产之一。１９９１年，获“七五”全国星火计划博览会银奖。１９９３年，平遥食品公司被中华人民共和国国内贸易部认证为“中华老字号”企业。</P><P align=center><IMG alt="" 国医学宝库中不可缺少的一味健身、健脾、养胃的滋补药品。长山药，又叫薯蓣和怀山药，是薯蓣科多年 生宿根性草本植物.山西省平遥、太谷等县盛产，每年可提供商品山药20万公斤左右。平遥县岳北村生产 的长山药，条粗条长，皮薄质细，在晋中一带很有名气。长山药性温不火，营养丰富，青年 、老年、妇 女、儿童、婴儿均能食用 。据化验，长山药中富含蛋白、淀粉、还含有钙、镁、锌、铁等人体必需的微
