<p class="lead description"> As part of the submission process, authors are required to check off their submission's compliance with all of the following items, and submissions may be returned to authors that do not adhere to these guidelines. </p> <ul class="list-group"> <li class="list-group-item"> <span class="glyphicon glyphicon-check" aria-hidden="true"></span> <span class="item-content">The submission has not been previously published, nor is it before another journal for consideration (or an explanation has been provided in Comments to the Editor).</span> </li> <li class="list-group-item"> <span class="glyphicon glyphicon-check" aria-hidden="true"></span> <span class="item-content">The submission file is in Microsoft Word file format.</span> </li> <li underlining (except with URL addresses); and all illustrations, figures, and tables are placed within the text at the appropriate points, rather than at the end.</span> </li> <li class="list-group-item"> <span class="glyphicon glyphicon-check" aria-hidden="true"></span> <span class="item-content">The text adheres to the stylistic and bibliographic requirements outlined in the Author Guidelines. All headings, figures, tables, and references align with the APA 7th Edition style guide.</span> </li> <li class="list-group-item"> <span class="glyphicon glyphicon-check" aria-hidden="true"></span> <span class="item-content">The submission is blinded by the author(s) to ensure that names do not appear anywhere within the manuscript. <br /> NOTE: This process is not required for book reviews.<br /> <br /> 'Author' is written instead of your name(s) when referencing your own work. Please ensure that other identifying information (e.g. university names, place names, program names, etc.) are NOT included in the manuscript.<br /> <br /> Also, ensure that author names have been removed from the file itself by right-clicking the file, selecting "Properties," clicking the "Details" tab, and selecting "Remove properties and personal information."<br /> <br /> NOTE: The system will add your name to the file name but the file name will be automatically blinded during review.</span> </li> </ul> </div> <div class="author_guidelines"> <h2 class="page-header"> Author Guidelines </h2>  <p><strong>Guidelines for Research/Theoretical Submissions</strong></p> <p>The scope of EJRSME is limited to manuscripts relating to issues in science/mathematics education or science/mathematics teacher education - from early childhood through university level including informal science and environmental education. Manuscripts that are well-written and support the dissemination of substantive research, theory, and innovative perspectives will be considered for publication. </p> <p>We welcome manuscripts that report meaningful research, present research methodology, develop theory, and explore new perspectives. EJRSME does not accept manuscripts that are primarily describing lesson plans, activities, teaching strategies, courses, or programs. EJRSME is an open access journal with a vigorous peer-review process and high standards for publication.</p> <p><strong>Formatting Guidelines:</strong></p>  <p>-Articles should be in <strong>MS Word</strong> format. Be sure to remove any identifying information from your manuscript before submitting.</p> <p>-The style manual followed for publication in EJRSME is the latest edition of the Publication Manual of the American Psychological Association (APA). Submissions must use the latest <strong>APA format</strong> for all references, headings, tables, and figures. </p> <p>-Manuscripts should be single spaced and use a 12-point font. For emphasis or terminology, use italic font; do not underline text unless it is for URLs.</p> <p>-There is no page limit.</p> <p>-All tables and figures must be placed within the text where appropriate, not appended to the end of the manuscript. Please do not use "Insert Table X about here" in the manuscript.</p> <p><strong><span data-contrast="auto">Editorial Processes for Research/Theoretical Submissions<br /></span></strong></p> <p>-Manuscripts undergo initial screening by the editorial team to ensure that submissions fall within the aims and scope of the journal, that they adhere to the formatting guidelines above, and that the language used is suitable (see below).</p> <p>-If the manuscript is deemed to be an appropriate fit for the journal, it will be assigned to an Associate Editor who will manage the peer review process.</p> <p>-Peer reviewed submissions undergo double blind peer review. All submissions are reviewed by at least two reviewers, at least on of whom is a member of the Editorial Review Board.</p> <p>-Manuscript decisions (Accept, Accept with Minor Revisions, Accept with Major Revisions, Reject and Encourage Resubmission; Decline) will be based on the feedback from peer reviewers as well as the Associate Editor and editorial team.</p> <p> </p> <p> </p> <p aria-level="4"><strong><span data-contrast="none">Guidelines for Book Reviews</span></strong><span data-ccp-props="{"134245418":true,"134245529":true,"335559738":80,"335559739":40}"> </span></p> <p><span data-contrast="auto">We invite reviews of books that align with the aims and scope of EJRSME that have been published within the last 24 months or are forthcoming. Reviewed books can come from a wide array of publishers and can exist in either digital or physical format. Authors of book reviews should have suitable knowledge and expertise to provide useful analysis and perspectives regarding the content of the book. They should not have any conflict of interest with the book being reviewed.</span><span data-ccp-props="{}"> </span></p> <p><strong><span data-contrast="auto">Book reviews should adhere to the following guidelines:</span></strong><span data-ccp-props="{}"> </span></p> <p><span data-contrast="auto">-Should be written in APA 7 format.</span><span data-ccp-props="{}"> </span></p> <p><span data-contrast="auto">-Do <span style="text-decoration: underline;">not</span> ‘blind’ your book review submission.</span><span data-ccp-props="{}"> </span></p> <p><span data-contrast="auto">-Should include the following elements in the following order: Title, author, publisher, and publication date of book being reviewed; Main review text; References.</span><span data-ccp-props="{}"> </span></p> <p><span data-contrast="auto">-The main text of the review should not exceed 1,500 words.</span><span data-ccp-props="{}"> </span></p> <p><span data-contrast="auto">-The review should include a brief description of the main topics, themes, and arguments presented in the book, but it </span><em><span data-contrast="auto">should not simply summarize the book’s content</span></em><span data-contrast="auto"> (summaries are available elsewhere). The review should rather provide an </span><em><span data-contrast="auto">analysis</span></em><span data-contrast="auto"> of the book that is informative to the EJRSME</span> <span data-contrast="auto">readership. Highlight important insights, implications for research and practice, as well as limitations and weaknesses.</span><span data-ccp-props="{}"> </span></p> <p><strong><span data-contrast="auto">Editorial Processes for Book Reviews<br /></span></strong></p> <p><span data-contrast="auto">-Book reviews should be submitted through the main submission system.</span><span data-ccp-props="{}"> </span></p> <p><span data-contrast="auto">-Book reviews are evaluated for suitability and quality by the journal editorial team.
