Hamilton in 1983 at Park Street Church in Boston. At the same missions conference I bought her autobiography, To a Different Drum. At that time I was single and struggling as a single. Recently I reread the autobiography and was astounded by a scripture reference on p. 308 referring to Zeph 3:17 "He is silently planning for you in love." The reason for my astonishment: ten years later after enduring years of frustration over my singleness, I fell in love with a godly, beautiful, kind woman living in Egypt while I was living in Northern Virginia. We were put in touch with one another by mutual Christian friends of our families. Six months after beginning our long distance relationship I went to Cairo to meet Lydia with the intention of proposing to her. When I first visited her family's apartment, I saw a plaque reading, "I am silently planning for you in love." In Dec 2019 Lydia and I celebrated our 25th Anniversary. The Lord has blessed us with two wonderful daughters. Being reminded by this scripture of the Lord's sovereignty and perfect plan for my life has made Deut 31:8 come alive to me: "For the Lord Himself will go before you, He will be with you. He will never leave you or forsake you. Especially the sixth verse is a prayer of my heart. We are a group of seniors in a residence with a 24/7 prayer merge call line- and are women of faith in the Lord Jesus Christ.
