At that time, it was a small, simple alerting tool for circuit courts.</p> <p>RECAP was created at <a href="https://citp.princeton.edu/">Princeton's Center for Information Technology Policy</a> around the same time. First, you avoid paying any capital gains tax on the increase in the value of the stock. Second, you receive a charitable income tax deduction for the fair market value of the stock on the date it is transferred. Generally, you must own the stock for a "long-term" period (more than 12 months) to qualify for these tax advantages. Our <a href="https://donate.free.law/forms/supportflp">donation form</a> has an easy option to set up recurring donations. Simply choose between <code>DONATE ONCE</code> and <code>DONATE MONTHLY</code> at the top of the form. There is a dropdown under <code>DONATE MONTHLY</code> that will allow you to choose to have your donation recur monthly, quarterly, or annually.</p> <h3>When are recurring donations charged?</h3> <p>Recurring donations are charged monthly on the day that you set up your original monthly contribution. If that day is on the 29th, 30th, or 31st of the month, we will charge you on the 28th of each month instead.</p> <h3>What if the credit card I'm using for monthly donations is stolen or expires?</h3> <p>For American credit cards, our credit card processor is usually able to handle these issues seamlessly.
