April 2021 fand im Rahmen der in diesem Jahr virtuellen Jahrestagung der “<a href="https://web.archive.org/web/20210521130618/https://dig-hum.de/">Digital Humanities im deutschsprachigen Raum</a>” (<a href="https://web.archive.org/web/20210521130618/https://vdhd2021.hypotheses.org/">vDHd2021</a>) unser Workshop “Experiment Schwarmintelligenz” zur Lösung von TEI-Markup-Fragen in der digitalen Edition von Peter Handkes Notizbüchern statt. Wir freuen uns, in unserem ersten Blogbeitrag von diesem geglückten Versuch zu berichten. </p> <span id="more-89"></span> <p>Gemeinsam diskutierten wir drei Stunden lang Vorschläge für die den TEI Guidelines[1] entsprechende Codierung von strukturellen und semantischen Phänomenen in den Notizbüchern und tauschten uns über unterschiedliche Vorgangsweisen aus. Nach einer kurzen Einführung in das Projekt und Material durch die beiden Projektleiter Bernhard Fetz und Ulrich von Bülow stellte Christoph Steindl die technische Umgebung der digitalen Edition vor. </p> <p>Darauf folgte der interaktive Teil des Workshops. Anhand konkreter Beispiele aus den noch unveröffentlichten Notizbüchern Peter Handkes diskutierten wir im Plenum nach einer kurzer Themenabstimmung Codier-Vorschläge und TEI-Markup-Fragen zu den Themen Intertextualität, Abbildungen und Vielsprachigkeit. Zur Auswahl standen außerdem noch Orte und Zitate. </p> <p>Besonders reges Interesse hatte die Gruppe an der Modellierung von intertextuellen Bezügen. Anhand eines Notizbucheintrags von Peter Handke, der später in verwandelter Form Eingang in die Druckfassung von <em>Die linkshändige Frau </em>(1976) fand, wurden verschiedene Möglichkeiten besprochen, die Beziehung zwischen Notizbuchtext und Werktext in TEI auszudrücken. </p> <p>Zum Thema Abbildungen zogen wir als Beispiel einen Notizbucheintrag Peter Handkes aus dem Notizbuch 22 (07.11.1979 – 30.10.1980) heran. Auf einer Doppelseite befindet sich eine vom Autor angefertigte Zeichnung des Dobratsch, eines Berges in Kärnten, davor die St. Magdalenkapelle. Oberhalb der Zeichnung erkennt man die Beschreibung des Bildes: “St. Magdalenkapelle mit Dobratsch, 6. September 1980”, darüber die Notiz: “(“einschichtig im Wald”)” und darunter: “(“Kanzel”) / “böse Gräben” / (1-3h)“. Wie geht man mit Beschriftungen in Abbildungen um und wie unterscheidet man, ob sie sich oberhalb oder innerhalb einer Zeichnung befinden? Der Codier-Vorschlag des Projektteams orientierte sich an der von Martina Scholger vorgeschlagenen Vorgangsweise[2]. Die Diskussion im Workshop drehte sich vor allem um die Trennlinie zwischen den TEI Elementen <figDesc> und <label> innerhalb von <figure>. Es ging auch um die Frage, ob eine nicht unmittelbar innerhalb einer Grafik befindliche Beschreibung – wie zum Beispiel “St. Magdalenkapelle am Dobratsch, 6. September 1980” – innerhalb des <figure>-Elements transkribiert sein sollte oder doch eher außerhalb im Fließtext. Rund um dieses Thema entspann sich eine Diskussion darüber, wo die Aufgaben der Editorik enden und die konkreten Forschungsfragen beginnen. </p> <p>Manche*r Teilnehmer*in ermahnte uns, den Zeithorizont des Projekts nicht aus den Augen zu verlieren und uns nicht zu viel auf einmal vorzunehmen – ein wichtiger Appell, den wir uns dankbar und zugleich bedauernd zu Herzen nehmen werden. Denn in unserem Material gibt es so viel zu entdecken! </p> <p>Wir freuen uns sehr, dass so viele Interessierte und Expert*innen an unserem Workshop teilgenommen haben.
