Contact your <a href="/eng/1534954090122/1535120506707#chp6">regional ISC emergency management coordinators</a> for more information or consult the <a href="/eng/1386012167936/1615723040222">Emergency Management Assistance Program (EMAP) terms and conditions</a> for other types of equipment purchases eligible under the response and recovery funding stream.</p> <p>Subject to funding availability, low-value equipment is eligible for funding if it:</p> <ul> <li>is basic equipment required for trainees to safely and efficiently accomplish their training, such as protective clothing, gear and essential tools</li> <li>is one-time funding that does not exceed $10,000</li> <li>requires little to no maintenance</li> </ul> <p>The use of the term low-value equipment is meant to distinguish it from high value capital equipment such as motorised vehicles, large trailers, RVs, and permanent back-up generators which are not eligible under EMAP.</p> </section> <section> <h2 id="sec2">Equipment not eligible for purchase under these funding streams</h2> <ul> <li>Large, high-value capital equipment purchases (such as motorized vehicles, structures, construction equipment, heavy equipment and machinery, fire trucks, mobile command post)</li> <li>Structural fire equipment (such as installed permanent fire hydrant system)</li> <li>Equipment related to response and recovery activities (such as sandbags, as these are eligible through the response and recovery funding stream)</li> <li>Individual household equipment (such as in-home first aid kits and emergency management prep kits)</li> </ul> </section> <section> <h2 id="sec3">List of eligible low-value equipment</h2> <p>The following list provides examples of eligible low-value equipment.</p> <p>This list represents decisions taken on a case by case basis and does not guarantee future funding decisions or policy development, which are also determined by funding availability and risk landscape and identification.</p> <p>The EMAP program is flexible and can consider eligibility decisions on a case by case basis.</p> <p><b>Eligible low-value equipment can include:</b></p> <ul> <li>Emergency Operations Centre kits, first aid kits and defibrillators relevant to training received</li> <li>search and rescue kits and training <ul> <li>tailored to environment (such as wilderness, water)</li> <li>multiple kits must be reviewed to prevent duplication of equipment</li> </ul> </li> <li>small generators</li> <li>Emergency Social Supports deployable kits including: <ul> <li>food hampers</li> <li>personal hygiene items</li> <li>items for infants such as food, clothing, diapers, hygiene products</li> <li>clothing</li> </ul> </li> <li>tsunami warning systems</li> <li>Rapid Disaster Assessment Kit including: <ul> <li>area or subdivision maps</li> <li>demographic information and forms</li> <li>records of occupants with special needs</li> <li>list of occupants with special training, skills or equipment</li> <li>gathering place, start up and maintenance documents</li> </ul> </li> <li>utility trailer or container for emergency management equipment storage</li> <li>beaver deceivers</li> <li>radios, including ones approved provincially or territorially for emergency management</li> <li>cellular repeaters</li> <li>environmental spill kits as needed and based on remoteness of community</li> <li>signage, road barrier equipment and 911 mapping</li> <li>flash lights and head lamps</li> <li>high visibility protective equipment (such as vests, hats, pants)</li> <li>technology devices for emergency management team (such as laptops, tablets)</li> <li>vehicle recovery equipment (such as tow ropes)</li> <li>GPS tools</li> <li>community notification systems</li> <li>licenses supporting mitigation and preparedness activities</li> <li>FireSmart equipment such as water packs, Personal Protective Equipment, coveralls</li> <li>office stationary and equipment</li> <li>portable pumps and hoses</li> </ul> </section>  <div class="row row-no-gutters mrgn-tp-xl"> <div class="col-sm-7 col-lg-6"> <section class="gc-pg-hlpfl provisional"> <div class="well mrgn-bttm-0"> <form id="gc-pg-hlpfl-frm" action="#" method="post" autocomplete="off"> <input type="hidden" name="institutionopt" value="Institution acronym -
