<a href="/download/maestro.asp" target="_blank">LISTSERV Maestro</a> with maintenance and support.</p> <br /> <h3>Updates for F-Secure Server Security for Linux Will Stop 31 Mar 2022</h3> <p>L-Soft customers who are currently using the Linux version of F-Secure Anti-Virus (Linux Security 11) will lose access to automatic anti-virus signature updates for that product after March 31, 2022. This is because F-Secure Server Security 12 is at end of life, and F-Secure has not provided L-Soft a suitable replacement.</p> <br /> <h3 class="noline">For Customers Running F-Secure Server Security on Windows Server 2016 and Later</h3> <p>There is a supported and working replacement solution using Windows Defender (which is part of Windows Server) to replace F-Secure Server Security. This involves the following steps:</p> <p>1. In Windows, under Settings/Update & Security/Windows Defender, ensure that Real-Time Protection is turned on. We also recommend enabling (if they aren't already enabled) Cloud-Based Protection, Automatic Sample Submission, and Enhanced Notifications.</p> <p>2. Run Windows Update to ensure that Windows Defender is updated to at least version 1.355.x.y, and to the latest version if newer than that. If you have just installed Defender as a Windows feature for the first time, it is likely that the default base installation is too old for LISTSERV to recognize.</p> <p>3. Updates for the Windows Defender program and its malware definitions will come through Windows Update. <b>The use of Windows Defender with LISTSERV 17.0 for Windows is fully supported</b>. It should also work with earlier versions back to LISTSERV 16.0-2017a, but L-Soft strongly recommends that all customers running earlier versions should upgrade to LISTSERV 17.0.</p> <br /> <h3 class="noline">For Customers Running F-Secure Server Security on Windows Server 2012 R2</h3> <p>Windows Server 2012 R2 does not natively support a version of Windows Defender that can be used with LISTSERV. Other solutions using third-party anti-virus suites are possible.</p> <p>(Please note that there are solutions floating around the Internet that say that you can enable Windows Defender on Server 2012 R2 by enabling Desktop Experience in the Server Manager. Unfortunately, the version of Windows Defender enabled in this way is not the same as the version of Windows Defender provided with Server 2016 and later, and will not work with LISTSERV.)</p> <p>If you are already running a different Windows anti-virus product in your enterprise, it should be possible to install your existing anti-virus product on your server and then use it with LISTSERV by adding the site-level configuration setting:</p> <pre style="font-size:16px">FOREIGN_ANTI_VIRUS=1</pre> <p>The setting can be made either by adding the string shown above to LISTSERV's \MAIN\SITE.CFG file, or via the web interface under Server Administration/Site Configuration/Anti-Virus and then setting the value for FOREIGN_ANTI_VIRUS to "Yes (1)" in the dropdown list box.
