I examine causal redundancy and over determination arguments, ‘nothing over and above’ appeals, and arguments based on problems with collocation and with property additivity. I argue that these share a common problem: applying conjunctive principles to cases in which the claims conjoined are not analytically independent. In doing so, Bennett also comes to a disjunctive definition of metaphysics: Metaphysics is a discipline that maintains the tools employed by other disciplines and—for accidental reasons—covers various other topics (e.g. free will, consciousness, mereology). In this paper, I argue that there might be a special problem with metaphysics, after all. To that end, I present and analyze Bennett’s argument, clarify the definition of metaphysics, provide an objection to Bennett’s argument, and outline some potential special problems with However, pluralists are also tolerant of the multiplicity of approaches that are and can be used in producing scientific knowledge. I argue that pluralism should welcome metaphysical discourses on their own grounds. This will be elucidated by the historical case study of Einstein's criticisms of the Copenhagen interpretation of Quantum Mechanics. Although an epistemic critique of this debate deserves serious consideration, I wish to resist epistemicism by countering it with a form of epistemic relativism. I will argue that each party to the debate is justified relative to the ranking of theoretical features and virtues that is "internal" to each position.
