(Courtesy Bozzuto Group)</div> </div> <p>Drinking and driving don’t mix, which is why guests who enjoy a beverage will be asked to wear wristbands so they don’t get behind the wheel of the electric-powered sports cars.</p> <p>The luxury car promotion — called “A Fresh Spin on Living” — is the latest effort by developers to affiliate themselves with other gold-plated brands as they try to differentiate their apartments in an increasingly crowded market.</p> <p>Washington added 15,500 new apartments in 2014, according to CoStar Group, prompting asking rents in a few neighborhoods to drop for the first time in years. Asking rents downtown and in Ballston, for example, fell 3 percent and 1.9 percent respectively. Overall, rents in the area grew 1.4 percent from July 2014 to July 2015, slower than the national average.</p> <p>Unlike new buildings in NoMa, Tysons or White Flint, Cathedral Commons enjoys the benefit of being the only major new building in its neighborhood. The residents and prospective residents at <span class="highlight" id="0.30064585409127176">Cathedral </span>Commons were a natural fit for this event,” wrote Jamie Gorski, Bozzuto’s chief marketing officer.</p> <p>The two cars are being borrowed from the Tesla dealership downtown.
