The LXX. render them, "fainting and hungry," and the Vulg., "and for weariness they could not overtake the fugitives." Literally it is, <span class= "ital">faint </span>and <span class= "ital">pursuing, </span>where the <span class= "ital">and </span>is explanatory. "Exhausted and pursuing," <span class= "ital">1 </span>e., exhausted with pursuing (Keil).
