Besides he is a well-known writer and a member of the World Journalist Union; for over a decade he has been an International Editor in the magazine "The Baltic Course".He has been a visiting professor in European universities and colleges: in Germany Belgium, Denmark Latvia, etc., and published several books on EU economic policies, law, and integration. During the last 15 years has been an external expert in the DG Education and Science. Since 2016, he has been a member of SDSN Global, SDSN for Universities, and SDSN Europe as part of Nordic countries' sustainability network.
