<h3>Μεθόδιος Γ´</h3> ὁ Μορώνης<br/> <br/> Καταγόταν ἀπὸ τὴν Κυδωνιὰ τῆς Κρήτης. Διατέλεσε προϊστάμενος τοῦ Ἱεροῦ Ναοῦ τῆς Θεοτόκου Χρυσοπηγῆς στὸ Γαλατᾶ ὡς τὸ 1646 ὁπότε ἀνέλαβε τὴν μητρόπολη Ἡρακλείας (Θράκη). <br/> Στὶς 5 Ἰανουαρίου του Ι668 ἐξελέγη στὸν οἰκουμενικὸ Θρόνο. Τὸν Μάρτιο τοῦ 1671 καθαιρέθηκε καὶ ἀποσύρθηκε στὴ Νέα Μονὴ Χίου καὶ μετὰ στὴ Ζάκυνθο ὅπου διετέλεσε ἐξουσιαστὴς καὶ προβλεπτὴς τῆς μονῆς Στροφάδων. <br/> Τὸ 1677 ἀνέλαβε ἀρχιερατικὸς ἐπίτροπος τοῦ ναοῦ τοῦ Ἁγίου Γεωργίου στὴν Ἑλληνικὴ κοινότητα τῆς Βενετίας.
