complaint process work?</div></h4><div class="usa-accordion__content usa-prose"><div class="grid-row"><div class="grid-col"><p class="body-text">The EEO Administrative Complaint Process has two stages:</p><ul><li style="color:#0b4778;"><p><strong>Stage One: Informal Pre-Complaint</strong> - The Informal Complaint is the first stage of the federal EEO administrative complaints process. The purpose of the Informal stage is to provide individuals with information about their EEO rights and responsibilities. During this stage, the EEO Counselor or a Mediator attempts to resolve the dispute at the lowest possible level. If there is no resolution at the informal stage, the Counselee may file a formal complaint.</p></li><li style="color:#0b4778;"><p><strong>Stage Two: Formal Complaint</strong> - The filing of the formal complaint of discrimination starts the second stage of the EEO complaint process. At this stage, the complaint allegation(s) are reviewed, and will be either accepted for investigation or dismissed.
