<t><p class="indent1">The thief<MH1590> enters<MH935>, <t><p class="indent1">A band<MH1416> of<MH1416> robbers<MH1416> attack<MH6584> outside<MH2351>, <poetry><p class="indent1"><span class="reftext"><a href="/hosea/7-2.htm"><b>2</b></a></span>And they do not <span class="fn"><a href="#fn">[a]</a></span>consider<MH559> in their hearts<MH3824> <t><p class="indent1">That I remember<MH2142> all<MH3605> their wickedness<MH7463a>. <t><p class="indent1">Now<MH6258> their deeds<MH4611> surround<MH5437> them; <t><p class="indent1">They are before<MH5048> My face<MH6440>. <poetry><p class="indent1"><span class="reftext"><a href="/hosea/7-3.htm"><b>3</b></a></span>With their wickedness<MH7463a> they make<MH8055> the king<MH4428> happy<MH8055>, <t><p class="indent1">And the officials<MH8269> with their lies<MH3585>. <poetry><p class="indent1"><span class="reftext"><a href="/hosea/7-4.htm"><b>4</b></a></span>They are all<MH3605> adulterers<MH5003>, <t><p class="indent1">Like<MH3644> an oven<MH8574> heated<MH1197a> by the baker<MH644>, <t><p class="indent1">Who stops<MH7673a> <span class="fn"><a href="#fn">[b]</a></span>stoking<MH5782> <i>the fire</i> <t><p class="indent1">From <i>the time</i> the dough<MH1217> is kneaded<MH3888> until<MH5704> it is<MH2556a> leavened<MH2556a>. <poetry><p class="indent1"><span class="reftext"><a href="/hosea/7-5.htm"><b>5</b></a></span>On the <span class="fn"><a href="#fn">[c]</a></span>day<MH3117> of our king<MH4428>, the officials<MH8269> became<MH2470a> sick<MH2470a> with the heat<MH2534> of wine<MH3196>; <t><p class="indent1">He stretched<MH4900> out<MH4900> his hand<MH3027> with <span class="fn"><a href="#fn">[d]</a></span>scoffers<MH3917b>, <poetry><p class="indent1"><span class="reftext"><a href="/hosea/7-6.htm"><b>6</b></a></span>For their hearts<MH3820> are like an oven<MH8574> <t><p class="indent1"><i>As</i> they approach<MH7126> their <span class="fn"><a href="#fn">[e]</a></span>plotting<MH696>; <t><p class="indent1">Their <span class="fn"><a href="#fn">[f]</a></span>anger<MH644> <span class="fn"><a href="#fn">[g]</a></span>smolders<MH3463> all<MH3605> night<MH3915>, <t><p class="indent1">In the morning<MH1242> it burns<MH1197a> like flaming<MH3852> fire<MH784>. <poetry><p class="indent1"><span class="reftext"><a href="/hosea/7-7.htm"><b>7</b></a></span>All<MH3605> of them are<MH2552> hot<MH2552> like an oven<MH8574>, <t><p class="indent1">And they consume<MH398> their rulers<MH8199>; <t><p class="indent1">Ephraim<MH669> has become<MH1961> a round<MH5692> loaf<MH5692> not turned<MH2015> over<MH2015>. <poetry><p class="indent1"><span class="reftext"><a href="/hosea/7-9.htm"><b>9</b></a></span>Strangers<MH2114a> devour<MH398> his strength<MH3581b>, <t><p class="indent1">Yet he does not know<MH3045> <i>it;</i> <t><p class="indent1">Gray<MH7872> hairs<MH7872> also<MH1571> are sprinkled<MH2236b> on him, <t><p class="indent1">Yet he does not know<MH3045> <i>it.</i> <poetry><p class="indent1"><span class="reftext"><a href="/hosea/7-10.htm"><b>10</b></a></span>Though the pride<MH1347b> of Israel<MH3478> testifies<MH6030a> against<MH6440> him, <t><p class="indent1">Yet they have not returned<MH7725> to the LORD<MH3068> their God<MH430>, <t><p class="indent1">Nor<MH3808> have they sought<MH1245> Him, despite all<MH3605> this<MH2088>. <poetry><p class="indent1"><span class="reftext"><a href="/hosea/7-11.htm"><b>11</b></a></span>So Ephraim<MH669> has become<MH1961> like a gullible<MH6601b> dove<MH3123>, without<MH369> <span class="fn"><a href="#fn">[i]</a></span>sense<MH3820>; <t><p class="indent1">They call<MH7121> to Egypt<MH4714>, they go<MH1980> to Assyria<MH804b>. <poetry><p class="indent1"><span class="reftext"><a href="/hosea/7-12.htm"><b>12</b></a></span>When<MH3512c> they go<MH1980>, I will spread<MH6566> My net<MH7568> over<MH5921> them; <t><p class="indent1">I will bring<MH3381> them down<MH3381> like the birds<MH5775> of the sky<MH8064>. <t><p class="indent1">I will discipline<MH3256> them in accordance with the <span class="fn"><a href="#fn">[j]</a></span>proclamation<MH8088> to their assembly<MH5712>. <poetry><p class="indent1"><span class="reftext"><a href="/hosea/7-13.htm"><b>13</b></a></span>Woe<MH188> to them, for they have strayed<MH5074> from Me! <t><p class="indent1">Destruction<MH7701> is theirs, for they have rebelled<MH6586> against Me! <t><p class="indent1">I would redeem<MH6299> them, but they have spoken<MH1696> lies<MH3577> against<MH5921> Me. <poetry><p class="indent1"><span class="reftext"><a href="/hosea/7-14.htm"><b>14</b></a></span>And they do not cry<MH2199> to Me from their heart<MH3820> <t><p class="indent1">When<MH3588> they wail<MH3213> on their beds<MH4904>;
