Notre projet pour la journée: voir le plus possible de Tokyo, en seulement un jour (et la nuit tombe tôt!). Nous partons donc de bonne heure vers le Parc Meiji, où nous apprécions la fraicheur matinale sous les grands arbres majestueux. Pour peu, on oublierait que nous sommes en plein cœur de la ville. Le sanctuaire shinto de Meiji Jingu, dit ‘du cœur sincère’, est consacré aux âmes divines de l’empereur Meiji et de sa femme l’impératrice Shoken. Il est un peu austère mais constitue un lieu de choix pour se marier. De fait, nous assistons à l’arrivée d’un couple venu se marier ce matin. La mariée revêt son kimono de mariage traditionnel, avec son grand chapeau blanc en forme de cloche. Sur un drap posé sur le sol afin de ne pas se salir, deux habilleuses s’affairent pour effectuer les derniers préparatifs sur le lourd kimono. Détail cocasse qui nous prouve une fois de plus que le japonais pense à tout, un climatiseur portatif et puissant est installé près de la mariée pour lui éviter une grosse suée malvenue à quelques minutes de la cérémonie. Ils se font une “matinée shopping” à Harajuku, puis au magasin de jouets géants “Kiddy Land”. Chaussettes, habits traditionnels, accessoires “Naruto” et “Hello Kitty”… Chacun trouve son bonheur dans le budget alloué. Quoi qu’ayant subi de nombreuses modifications (ajout d’un sous-sol sous la cour, bâtiment supplémentaire, entrée remodelée… le bâtiment principal que nous avons connu est encore largement reconnaissable. C’est un restaurant japonais typique (quoique équipé de tables hautes et de chaises à l’occidentale). Le petit déjeuner proposé sous forme de buffet est très varié : riz, saucisses, omelette sucrée, poisson, oeufs (crus ou cuits), salade de chou, légumes marinés, thé vert… mais je rassure ceux qui ont un goût plus occidental, il y a aussi du café, des petits pains au lait et de la confiture de fraise, si on a pas les papilles aventurières dès le réveil.</p> <p> <a
