distribution in unmagnetized electron-positron-ion plasmas. The Krylov-Bogoliubov-Mitropolosky (KBM) perturbation method is used to derive the nonlinear Schrödinger equation. The dispersive and nonlinear coefficients are obtained which depend on the temperature and concentration of the hot and cold electron species as well as the positron density and temperature. The modulationally unstable regions are studied numerically for a wide range of wave number. The effects of the temperature and concentration of the hot and cold electron on the modulational stability are investigated in detail. <p class="card-text"><strong>Keywords:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=modulational%20instability" title="modulational instability">modulational instability</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=ion%20acoustic%20wave" title=" ion acoustic wave"> ion acoustic wave</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=KBM%20method" title=" KBM method"> KBM method</a> </p> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/28700/modulational-instability-of-ion-acoustic-wave-in-electron-positron-ion-plasmas-with-two-electron-temperature-distributions" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">Procedia</a> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/28700.pdf" target="_blank" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">PDF</a> <span class="bg-info text-light px-1 py-1 float-right rounded"> Downloads <span class="badge badge-light">665</span> </span> </div> </div> <div class="card paper-listing mb-3 mt-3"> <h5 class="card-header" style="font-size:.9rem"><span class="badge badge-info">1873</span> Isotherm Study for Phenol Removal onto GAC</h5> <div class="card-body"> <p class="card-text"><strong>Authors:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Lallan%20Singh%20Yadav">Lallan Singh Yadav</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Bijay%20Kumar%20Mishra"> Bijay Kumar Mishra</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Manoj%20Kumar%20Mahapatra"> Manoj Kumar Mahapatra</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Arvind%20Kumar"> Arvind Kumar</a> </p> <p class="card-text"><strong>Abstract:</strong></p> Adsorption data for phenol removal onto granular activated carbon were fitted to Langmuir and Freundlich isotherms. For this research, waste cooking oil is collected from many hotels and restaurants, and then biodiesel is prepared for experimentation purpose. The prepared biodiesel is mixed with mineral diesel in the proportion of 10%, 20%, and 30% to perform tests on a diesel engine. The experimental analysis is carried out at different load conditions to analyze the impact of the blending ratio on the performance and emission parameters. When the blending proportion of biodiesel is increased, then the highest pressure reduces due to the fall in the calorific value of the blended mixture. Experimental analysis shows a promising decrease in nitrogen oxides (NOx). A mixture of 20% biodiesel and mineral diesel is the best negotiation, mixing ratio, and beyond that, a remarkable reduction in the outcome of the performance has been observed. <p class="card-text"><strong>Keywords:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=alternative%20sources" title="alternative sources">alternative sources</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=diesel%20engine" title=" diesel engine"> diesel engine</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=emissions" title=" emissions"> emissions</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=performance" title=" performance"> performance</a> </p> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/113446/performance-and-emissions-analysis-of-diesel-engine-with-bio-diesel-of-waste-cooking-oils" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">Procedia</a> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/113446.pdf" target="_blank" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">PDF</a> <span class="bg-info text-light px-1 py-1 float-right rounded"> Downloads <span class="badge badge-light">179</span> </span> </div> </div> <div class="card paper-listing mb-3 mt-3"> <h5 class="card-header" style="font-size:.9rem"><span class="badge badge-info">1871</span> Design of Lead-Lag Based Internal Model Controller for Binary Distillation Column</h5> <div class="card-body"> <p class="card-text"><strong>Authors:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Rakesh%20Kumar%20Mishra">Rakesh Kumar Mishra</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Tarun%20Kumar%20Dan"> Tarun Kumar Dan </a> </p> <p class="card-text"><strong>Abstract:</strong></p> Lead-Lag based Internal Model Control method is proposed based on Internal Model Control (IMC) strategy. Using different types of equipments driven manually or by powered, machines make the soil suitable to place the seeds into the desirable depth. Moreover, tillage loosens the compacted layers. Heavy equipment and tillage implements can cause damage to the soil structure. Effect of various tillage methods on soil compaction was studied in Rabi season of 2013-14 at village Ladwa, Hisar, Haryana (India). The experiments studied the effect of six tillage treatments i.e. no tillage or zero tillage (T1), tillage with rotavator (T2), disc harrow (T3), rotavator + sub soiler (T4), disc harrow + sub soiler (T5) and power harrow (T6) on soil compaction. Soil compaction was measured before tillage and after sowing at 0, 30, 60 and 90 days after sowing. No change in soil resistance was recorded before and after no tillage treatment. Maximum soil resistance was found in zero tillage followed by disc harrow up to 150 mm soil depth. Minimum soil resistance was found in rotavator immediately after the tillage treatment. However, the soil resistance approached the same level as it had been before the tillage after the soil strata where the implement cannot reach. <p class="card-text"><strong>Keywords:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=tillage" title="tillage">tillage</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=no%20tillage" title=" no tillage"> no tillage</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=rotavator" title=" rotavator"> rotavator</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=subsoiler" title=" subsoiler"> subsoiler</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=compaction" title=" compaction"> compaction</a> </p> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/92819/effect-of-various-tillage-systems-on-soil-compaction" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">Procedia</a> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/92819.pdf" target="_blank" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">PDF</a> <span class="bg-info text-light px-1 py-1 float-right rounded"> Downloads <span class="badge badge-light">318</span> </span> </div> </div> <div class="card paper-listing mb-3 mt-3"> <h5 class="card-header" style="font-size:.9rem"><span class="badge badge-info">1869</span> A Review on Electrical Behavior of Different Substrates, Electrodes and Membranes in Microbial Fuel Cell</h5> <div class="card-body"> <p class="card-text"><strong>Authors:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Bharat%20Mishra">Bharat Mishra</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Sanjay%20Kumar%20Awasthi"> Sanjay Kumar Awasthi</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Raj%20Kumar%20Rajak"> Raj Kumar Rajak</a> </p> <p class="card-text"><strong>Abstract:</strong></p> The devices, which convert the energy in the form of electricity from organic matters, are called microbial fuel cell (MFC). Recently, MFCs have been given a lot of attention due to their mild operating conditions, and various types of biodegradable substrates have been used in the form of fuel. Traditional MFCs were included in anode and cathode chambers, but there are single chamber MFCs. Microorganisms actively catabolize substrate, and bioelectricities are produced. In the field of power generation from non-conventional sources, apart from the benefits of this technique, it is still facing practical constraints such as low potential and power. In this study, most suitable, natural, low cost MFCs components are electrodes (anode and cathode), organic substrates, membranes and its design is selected on the basis of maximum potential (voltage) as an electrical parameter, which indicates a vital role of affecting factor in MFC for sustainable power production. <p class="card-text"><strong>Keywords:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=substrates" title="substrates">substrates</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=electrodes" title=" electrodes"> electrodes</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=membranes" title=" membranes"> membranes</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=MFCs%20design" title=" MFCs design"> MFCs design</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=voltage" title=" voltage"> voltage</a> </p> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/77437/a-review-on-electrical-behavior-of-different-substrates-electrodes-and-membranes-in-microbial-fuel-cell" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">Procedia</a> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/77437.pdf" target="_blank" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">PDF</a> <span class="bg-info text-light px-1 py-1 float-right rounded"> Downloads <span class="badge badge-light">306</span> </span> </div> </div> <div class="card paper-listing mb-3 mt-3"> <h5 class="card-header" style="font-size:.9rem"><span class="badge badge-info">1868</span> Multi-Environment Quantitative Trait Loci Mapping for Grain Iron and Zinc Content Using Bi-Parental Recombinant Inbred Lines in Pearl Millet</h5> <div class="card-body"> <p class="card-text"><strong>Authors:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Tripti%20Singhal">Tripti Singhal</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=C.%20Tara%20Satyavathi"> C. The microwave data was acquired by specially designed X-band (10 GHz) bistatic scatterometer. The linear regression analysis was done between scattering coefficients and soil moisture content to select the suitable incidence angle for retrieval of soil moisture content. The 250 incidence angle was found more suitable. The support vector regression analysis was used to approximate the function described by the input-output relationship between the scattering coefficient and corresponding measured values of the soil moisture content. The performance of support vector regression algorithm was evaluated by comparing the observed and the estimated soil moisture content by statistical performance indices %Bias, root mean squared error (RMSE) and Nash-Sutcliffe Efficiency (NSE). The values of %Bias, root mean squared error (RMSE) and Nash-Sutcliffe Efficiency (NSE) were found 2.9451, 1.0986, and 0.9214, respectively at HH-polarization. The DNA was extracted using cTAB method. The DNA was quantified using the fluorimeter. The annealing temperatures for 27 primer pairs were standardized using gradient PCR, out of which 16 primers gave satisfactory amplification at temperature ranging from 50-62⁰ C. Out of 16 polymorphic SSR markers only 10 SSR primer pairs were used in the study generating 34 reproducible amplicons among 37 genotypes out of which 30 were polymorphic. Primer pairs Xgwm533, Xgwm 160, Xgwm 408, Xgwm 120, Xgwm 186, Xgwm 261 produced maximum percent of polymorphic bands (100%). The bands ranged on an average of 3.4 bands per primer. The genetic relationship was determined using Jaccard pair wise similarity co-efficient and UPGMA cluster analysis with NTSYS Pc.2 software. The values of similarity index range from 0-1. The similarity coefficient ranged from 0.13 to 0.97. A minimum genetic similarity (0.13) was observed between VL 804 and HPW 288, meaning they are only 13% similar. Agricultural production is very important in today’s economy because plant diseases are common, and early detection of plant diseases is important in agriculture. Automatic detection of such early diseases is useful because it reduces control efforts in large productive farms. Using digital image processing and machine learning algorithms, this paper presents a method for plant disease detection. Detection of the disease occurs on different leaves of the plant. The proposed system for plant disease detection is simple and computationally efficient, requiring less time than learning-based approaches. The accuracy of various plant and foliar diseases is calculated and presented in this paper. <p class="card-text"><strong>Keywords:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=plant%20diseases" title="plant diseases">plant diseases</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=machine%20learning" title=" machine learning"> machine learning</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=image%20processing" title=" image processing"> image processing</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=deep%20learning" title=" deep learning"> deep learning</a> </p> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/194420/plant-disease-detection-using-image-processing-and-machine-learning" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">Procedia</a> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/194420.pdf" target="_blank" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">PDF</a> <span class="bg-info text-light px-1 py-1 float-right rounded"> Downloads <span class="badge badge-light">7</span> </span> </div> </div> <div class="card paper-listing mb-3 mt-3"> <h5 class="card-header" style="font-size:.9rem"><span class="badge badge-info">1860</span> Alcohol Detection with Engine Locking System Using Arduino and ESP8266</h5> <div class="card-body"> <p class="card-text"><strong>Authors:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Sukhpreet%20Singh">Sukhpreet Singh</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Kishan%20Bhojrath"> Kishan Bhojrath</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Vijay"> Vijay</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Avinash%20Kumar"> Avinash Kumar</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Mandlesh%20Mishra"> Mandlesh Mishra</a> </p> <p class="card-text"><strong>Abstract:</strong></p> The project uses an Arduino and ESP8266 to construct an alcohol detection system with an engine locking mechanism, offering a distinct way to fight drunk driving. An alcohol sensor module is used by the system to determine the amount of alcohol present in the ambient air. When the system detects alcohol levels beyond a certain threshold that is deemed hazardous for driving, it activates a relay module that is linked to the engine of the car, so rendering it inoperable. By preventing people from operating a vehicle while intoxicated, this preventive measure seeks to improve road safety. Adding an ESP8266 module also allows for remote monitoring and notifications, giving users access to real-time status updates on their system. By using an integrated strategy, the initiative provides a workable and efficient way to lessen the dangers related to driving while intoxicated. <p class="card-text"><strong>Keywords:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=MQ3%20sensor" title="MQ3 sensor">MQ3 sensor</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=ESP%208266" title=" ESP 8266"> ESP 8266</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=arduino" title=" arduino"> arduino</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=IoT" title=" IoT"> IoT</a> </p> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/185414/alcohol-detection-with-engine-locking-system-using-arduino-and-esp8266" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">Procedia</a> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/185414.pdf" target="_blank" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">PDF</a> <span class="bg-info text-light px-1 py-1 float-right rounded"> Downloads <span class="badge badge-light">66</span> </span> </div> </div> <div class="card paper-listing mb-3 mt-3"> <h5 class="card-header" style="font-size:.9rem"><span class="badge badge-info">1859</span> Fuel Quality of Biodiesel from Chlorella protothecoides Microalgae Species</h5> <div class="card-body"> <p class="card-text"><strong>Authors:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Mukesh%20Kumar">Mukesh Kumar</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Mahendra%20Pal%20Sharma"> Mahendra Pal Sharma</a> </p> <p class="card-text"><strong>Abstract:</strong></p> Depleting fossil fuel resources coupled with serious environmental degradation has led to the search for alternative resources for biodiesel production as a substitute of Petro-diesel. Currently, edible, non-edible oils and microalgal plant species are cultivated for biodiesel production. Looking at the demerits of edible and non-edible oil resources, the focus is being given to grow microalgal species having high oil productivities, less maturity time and less land requirement. Out of various microalgal species, Chlorella protothecoides is considered as the most promising species for biodiesel production owing to high oil content (58 %), faster growth rate (24–48 h) and high biomass productivity (1214 mg/l/day). The present paper reports the results of optimization of reaction parameters of transesterification process as well as the kinetics of transesterification with 97% yield of biodiesel. The measurement of fuel quality of microalgal biodiesel shows that the biodiesel exhibit very good oxidation stability (O.S) of 7 hrs, more than ASTM D6751 (3 hrs) and EN 14112 (6 hrs) specifications. The CP and PP of 0 and -3 °C are finding as per ASTM D 2500-11 and ASTM D 97-12 standards. These results show that the microalgal biodiesel does not need any enhancement in O.S & CFP and hence can be recommended to be directly used as MB100 or its blends into diesel engine operation. Further, scope is available for the production of binary blends using poor quality biodiesel for engine operation. <p class="card-text"><strong>Keywords:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=fuel%20quality" title="fuel quality">fuel quality</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=methyl%20ester%20yield" title=" methyl ester yield"> methyl ester yield</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=microalgae" title=" microalgae"> microalgae</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=transesterification" title=" transesterification"> transesterification</a> </p> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/58274/fuel-quality-of-biodiesel-from-chlorella-protothecoides-microalgae-species" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">Procedia</a> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/58274.pdf" target="_blank" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">PDF</a> <span class="bg-info text-light px-1 py-1 float-right rounded"> Downloads <span class="badge badge-light">215</span> </span> </div> </div> <div class="card paper-listing mb-3 mt-3"> <h5 class="card-header" style="font-size:.9rem"><span class="badge badge-info">1858</span> Upgraded Cuckoo Search Algorithm to Solve Optimisation Problems Using Gaussian Selection Operator and Neighbour Strategy Approach</h5> <div class="card-body"> <p class="card-text"><strong>Authors:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Mukesh%20Kumar%20Shah">Mukesh Kumar Shah</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Tushar%20Gupta"> Tushar Gupta</a> </p> <p class="card-text"><strong>Abstract:</strong></p> An Upgraded Cuckoo Search Algorithm is proposed here to solve optimization problems based on the improvements made in the earlier versions of Cuckoo Search Algorithm. In the present study, the efficiency of aluminium based electrocoagulation on the removal of prominent aromatic groups such as phenol, hydrophobic auxochromes, and carboxyl groups from NOM enriched synthetic water has been evaluated using various spectral indices. The effect of electrocoagulation on turbidity has also been discussed. The variation in coagulation performance as a function of pH has been studied. Our result suggests that electrocoagulation can be considered as appropriate remediation approach to reduce trihalomethanes formation in water. It has effectively reduced hydrophobic fractions from NOM enriched low turbid water. The charge neutralization and enmeshment of dispersed colloidal particles inside metallic hydroxides is the possible mechanistic approach in electrocoagulation. <p class="card-text"><strong>Keywords:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=aromatic%20fractions" title="aromatic fractions">aromatic fractions</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=electrocoagulation" title=" electrocoagulation"> electrocoagulation</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=natural%20organic%20matter" title=" natural organic matter"> natural organic matter</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=spectral%20indices" title=" spectral indices"> spectral indices</a> </p> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/71237/removal-of-aromatic-fractions-of-natural-organic-matter-from-synthetic-water-using-aluminium-based-electrocoagulation" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">Procedia</a> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/71237.pdf" target="_blank" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">PDF</a> <span class="bg-info text-light px-1 py-1 float-right rounded"> Downloads <span class="badge badge-light">277</span> </span> </div> </div> <div class="card paper-listing mb-3 mt-3"> <h5 class="card-header" style="font-size:.9rem"><span class="badge badge-info">1856</span> Temperature-Dependent Structural Characterization of Type-II Dirac Semi-Metal nite₂ From Bulk to Exfoliated Thin Flakes Using Raman Spectroscopy</h5> <div class="card-body"> <p class="card-text"><strong>Authors:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Minna%20Theres%20James">Minna Theres James</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Nirmal%20K%20Sebastian"> Nirmal K Sebastian</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Shoubhik%20Mandal"> Shoubhik Mandal</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Pramita%20Mishra"> Pramita Mishra</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=R%20Ganesan"> R Ganesan</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=P%20S%20Anil%20Kumar"> P S Anil Kumar</a> </p> <p class="card-text"><strong>Abstract:</strong></p> We report the temperature-dependent evolution of Raman spectra of type-II Dirac semimetal (DSM) NiTe2 (001) in the form of bulk single crystal and a nanoflake (200 nm thick) for the first time. The non-linear variation of peak positions of the Raman modes with temperature is explained by anharmonic three-phonon and four-phonon processes along with thermal expansion of the lattice. We also observe prominent effect of electron-phonon coupling from the variation of FWHM of the peaks with temperature, indicating the metallicity of the samples. Shikimate pathway is important drug target as this pathway is absent in mammals. DHQD from Acinetobacter baumannii (AbDHQD) was cloned, expressed and purified to homogeneity. The binding studies showed that compounds quinic acid and citrazinic acid bound to AbDHQD at micromolar concentrations. AbDHQD was crystallized using 30% PEG-3350, 50mM tris-HCl, and 1.0M MgSO4 at PH 8.0. Crystals of AbDHQD were stabilized by transferring them into reservoir solution to which 25% glycerol was added for data collection at 100K. The X-ray intensity data were collected to 2.0Å resolution. The crystals belong to monoclinic space group P21 with cell dimensions, a = 82.3, b = 95.3, c = 132.3Å and β = 95.7°. The structure was solved with molecular replacement method and refined to Rcryst/Rfree factors of 0.200/0.232. The structures of 12 crystallographically independent molecules in the asymmetry unit were identical with r.m.s shifts for the C atoms ranging from 0.3 Å to 0.8 Å. They formed a dodecamer with four trimers arranged in a tetrahedral manner. The classical lid adopted an open conformation although a sulfate ion was observed in the substrate binding site. As a result of which, the compounds quinic acid and citrazinic acid did not bind to AbDHQD. <p class="card-text"><strong>Keywords:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=acinetobacter%20Bauman%20Nii" title="acinetobacter Bauman Nii">acinetobacter Bauman Nii</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=dehydroquinate%20dehydratase" title=" dehydroquinate dehydratase"> dehydroquinate dehydratase</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=dodecamer" title=" dodecamer"> dodecamer</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=open%20conformation" title=" open conformation"> open conformation</a> </p> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/60811/binding-studies-and-structure-determination-of-the-recombinantly-produced-type-ii-3-dehydroquinate-dehydratase-from-acinetobacter-baumannii" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">Procedia</a> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/60811.pdf" target="_blank" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">PDF</a> <span class="bg-info text-light px-1 py-1 float-right rounded"> Downloads <span class="badge badge-light">361</span> </span> </div> </div> <div class="card paper-listing mb-3 mt-3"> <h5 class="card-header" style="font-size:.9rem"><span class="badge badge-info">1854</span> Agarose Based Multifunctional Nanofibrous Bandages for Wound Healing Applications</h5> <div class="card-body"> <p class="card-text"><strong>Authors:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Sachin%20Latiyan">Sachin Latiyan</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=T.%20S.%20Sampath%20Kumar"> T. Agarose (a natural polymer) have been used largely for angiogenesis, cartilage formation and wound healing applications. However, electrospinning of agarose is tedious thereby rendering limited studies on fabrication and evaluation of agarose based nanofibrous wound dressings. Thus, present study focuses on the fabrication of agarose (10% w/v)/ polyvinyl alcohol (12% w/v) based multifunctional nanofibrous scaffolds. Zinc citrate (1, 3 and 5% w/w of the polymer) was added as a potential antibacterial agent to combat wound infections. The fabricated scaffolds exhibit ~500% swelling (in phosphate buffer saline) with enhanced mechanical strength which is suitable for most of the wound healing applications. In vitro studies were found to reveal an increased migration and proliferation of L929 mouse fibroblasts with agarose blends w.r.t to the control. The fabricated dressings were found to be effective against both Escherichia coli (Gram-negative) and Staphylococcus aureus (Gram-positive) bacterial strains. Hence, a multifunctional (as provides effective swelling and mechanical support along with antibacterial property), natural product based, eco-friendly scaffold was successfully fabricated to serve as a potential wound dressing material. <p class="card-text"><strong>Keywords:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=antibacterial%20dressings" title="antibacterial dressings">antibacterial dressings</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=benign%20solvent" title=" benign solvent"> benign solvent</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=nanofibrous%20agarose" title=" nanofibrous agarose"> nanofibrous agarose</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=biocompatibility" title=" biocompatibility"> biocompatibility</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=enhanced%20swelling%20and%20mechanical%20strength" title=" enhanced swelling and mechanical strength"> enhanced swelling and mechanical strength</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=biopolymeric%20dressings" title=" biopolymeric dressings"> biopolymeric dressings</a> </p> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/152755/agarose-based-multifunctional-nanofibrous-bandages-for-wound-healing-applications" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">Procedia</a> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/152755.pdf" target="_blank" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">PDF</a> <span class="bg-info text-light px-1 py-1 float-right rounded"> Downloads <span class="badge badge-light">93</span> </span> </div> </div> <div class="card paper-listing mb-3 mt-3"> <h5 class="card-header" style="font-size:.9rem"><span class="badge badge-info">1853</span> An Easy Approach for Fabrication of Macroporous Apatite-Based Bone Cement Used As Potential Trabecular Bone Substitute</h5> <div class="card-body"> <p class="card-text"><strong>Authors:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Vimal%20Kumar%20Dewangan">Vimal Kumar Dewangan</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=T.%20S.%20Sampath%20Kumar"> T. Therefore, an easy approach was attempted to fabricate the apatite-based (CDHAp) bone cement with improved injectability, bioresorbability, and macroporosity. In this study, the desired bone cement was developed by mixing the solid phase (consisting of wet chemically synthesized nanocrystalline hydroxyapatite and commercially available (synthetic) tricalcium phosphate) and the liquid phase (consisting of cement binding accelerator with few biopolymers in a dilute acidic solution) along with a liquid porogen as polysorbate or a solid porogen as mannitol (for comparison) in an optimized liquid-to-powder ratio. The fabricated cement sets within clinically preferred setting time (≤20 minutes) are better injectable (>70%) and also stable at ~7.3-7.4 (physiological pH). The CDHAp phased bone cement was resulted by immersing the fabricated after-set cement in phosphate buffer solution and other similar artificial body fluids and incubated at physiological conditions for seven days, confirmed through the X-ray diffraction and Fourier transform-infrared spectroscopy analyses. The so-formed synthetic apatite-based bone cement holds the acceptable compressive strength (within the range of trabecular bone) with average interconnected pores size falls in a macropores range (~50-200μm) inside the cement, verified by scanning electron microscopy (SEM), mercury intrusion porosimetry and micro-CT analysis techniques. Also, it is biodegradable (degrades ~19-22% within 10-12 weeks) when incubated in artificial body fluids under physiological conditions. The biocompatibility study of the bone cement, when incubated with MG63 cells, shows a significant increase in the cell viability after 3rd day of incubation compared with the control, and the cells were well-attached and spread completely on the surface of the bone cement, confirmed through SEM and fluorescence microscopy analyses. With this all, we can conclude that the developed synthetic macroporous apatite-based bone cement may have the potential to become promising material used as a trabecular bone substitute. <p class="card-text"><strong>Keywords:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=calcium%20deficient%20hydroxyapatite" title="calcium deficient hydroxyapatite">calcium deficient hydroxyapatite</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=synthetic%20apatite-based%20bone%20cement" title=" synthetic apatite-based bone cement"> synthetic apatite-based bone cement</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=injectability" title=" injectability"> injectability</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=macroporosity" title=" macroporosity"> macroporosity</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=trabecular%20bone%20substitute" title=" trabecular bone substitute"> trabecular bone substitute</a> </p> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/153359/an-easy-approach-for-fabrication-of-macroporous-apatite-based-bone-cement-used-as-potential-trabecular-bone-substitute" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">Procedia</a> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/153359.pdf" target="_blank" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">PDF</a> <span class="bg-info text-light px-1 py-1 float-right rounded"> Downloads <span class="badge badge-light">86</span> </span> </div> </div> <div class="card paper-listing mb-3 mt-3"> <h5 class="card-header" style="font-size:.9rem"><span class="badge badge-info">1852</span> Imperatives for Teacher Empowerment in Devising Extension Education as Part of the Holistic Curriculum for Hospitality and Tourism Domains: A Conceptual Study in Indian Context</h5> <div class="card-body"> <p class="card-text"><strong>Authors:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Rajiv%20Mishra">Rajiv Mishra</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Mantun%20Kumar%20Singh"> Mantun Kumar Singh</a> </p> <p class="card-text"><strong>Abstract:</strong></p> The role of educator or teacher in the Indian context is circumscribed by the objective of social transformation as articulated in the Indian National Movement and later enshrined in the Preamble to the Indian Constitution, in the Fundamental Rights and in the Directive Principles of State Policy. Extension, which is the additional dimension of professional practice among teachers at higher education can be used as a revolutionary tool to modify the existing slogan of ‘education for all’ to ‘education for all and for-ever’, thereby making the ‘life-long education’, a reality. This conceptual paper addresses the twin needs of preparing the students for individual growth as also to facilitate them to contribute to social development. It focuses on the inclusion of the measures required to be taken for providing social consciousness and sensitivity, as this happens to be a neglected part of the curriculum. The extra effort so needed to build community based activities presupposes the requirement for professional training to be given to the hospitality and tourism educators as a continuing education initiative. <p class="card-text"><strong>Keywords:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=continuing%20education" title="continuing education">continuing education</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=extension%20activities" title=" extension activities"> extension activities</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=holistic%20curriculum" title=" holistic curriculum"> holistic curriculum</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=hospitality%20and%20tourism%20educators" title=" hospitality and tourism educators"> hospitality and tourism educators</a> </p> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/30931/imperatives-for-teacher-empowerment-in-devising-extension-education-as-part-of-the-holistic-curriculum-for-hospitality-and-tourism-domains-a-conceptual-study-in-indian-context" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">Procedia</a> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/30931.pdf" target="_blank" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">PDF</a> <span class="bg-info text-light px-1 py-1 float-right rounded"> Downloads <span class="badge badge-light">319</span> </span> </div> </div> <div class="card paper-listing mb-3 mt-3"> <h5 class="card-header" style="font-size:.9rem"><span class="badge badge-info">1851</span> Fractional Order Differentiator Using Chebyshev Polynomials</h5> <div class="card-body"> <p class="card-text"><strong>Authors:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Koushlendra%20Kumar%20Singh">Koushlendra Kumar Singh</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Manish%20Kumar%20Bajpai"> Manish Kumar Bajpai</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Rajesh%20Kumar%20Pandey"> Rajesh Kumar Pandey</a> </p> <p class="card-text"><strong>Abstract:</strong></p> A discrete time fractional orderdifferentiator has been modeled for estimating the fractional order derivatives of contaminated signal. It is used to increase the frequency component, recover the lost details and removing the down sampling and noises that caused by camera during image acquisition process. High-resolution images or videos are desired part of all image processing tasks and its analysis in most of digital imaging application. The target behind super-resolution is to combine non-repetition information inside single or multiple low-resolution frames to generate a high-resolution image. Many methods have been proposed where multiple images are used as low-resolution images of same scene with different variation in transformation. This is called multi-image super resolution. And another family of methods is single image super-resolution that tries to learn redundancy that presents in image and reconstruction the lost information from a single low-resolution image. Use of deep learning is one of state of art method at present for solving reconstruction high-resolution image. In this research, we proposed Deep Denoising Super Resolution (DDSR) that is a deep neural network for effectively reconstruct the high-resolution image from low-resolution image. <p class="card-text"><strong>Keywords:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=resolution" title="resolution">resolution</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=deep-learning" title=" deep-learning"> deep-learning</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=neural%20network" title=" neural network"> neural network</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=de-blurring" title=" de-blurring"> de-blurring</a> </p> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/78802/improved-super-resolution-using-deep-denoising-convolutional-neural-network" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">Procedia</a> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/78802.pdf" target="_blank" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">PDF</a> <span class="bg-info text-light px-1 py-1 float-right rounded"> Downloads <span class="badge badge-light">517</span> </span> </div> </div> <div class="card paper-listing mb-3 mt-3"> <h5 class="card-header" style="font-size:.9rem"><span class="badge badge-info">1849</span> Performance Comparison of Reactive, Proactive and Hybrid Routing Protocols in Wireless Ad Hoc Networks </h5> <div class="card-body"> <p class="card-text"><strong>Authors:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Kumar%20Manoj">Kumar Manoj</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Ramesh%20Kumar"> Ramesh Kumar</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Kumari%20Arti"> Kumari Arti</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Kumar%20Prashant"> Kumar Prashant </a> </p> <p class="card-text"><strong>Abstract:</strong></p> Routing protocols have a central role in any mobile ad hoc network (MANET). The complex algorithm used for EEG classification reduces the chances of intrusion into the protected public or private data. <p class="card-text"><strong>Keywords:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=EEG%20signal" title="EEG signal">EEG signal</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=auditory%20evoked%20potential" title=" auditory evoked potential"> auditory evoked potential</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=biometrics" title=" biometrics"> biometrics</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=multilayer%20perceptron%20neural%20network" title=" multilayer perceptron neural network"> multilayer perceptron neural network</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=back%20propagation%20rule" title=" back propagation rule"> back propagation rule</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Gaussian%20random%20weight%20initialization" title=" Gaussian random weight initialization"> Gaussian random weight initialization</a> </p> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/29970/an-innovative-auditory-impulsed-eeg-and-neural-network-based-biometric-identification-system" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">Procedia</a> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/29970.pdf" target="_blank" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">PDF</a> <span class="bg-info text-light px-1 py-1 float-right rounded"> Downloads <span class="badge badge-light">409</span> </span> </div> </div> <div class="card paper-listing mb-3 mt-3"> <h5 class="card-header" style="font-size:.9rem"><span class="badge badge-info">1847</span> Transformational Leadership and Structural Organizational Ambidexterity - The Mediating and Moderating Role of Social Astuteness and Status Incongruence</h5> <div class="card-body"> <p class="card-text"><strong>Authors:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Ganesh%20Prasad%20Mishra">Ganesh Prasad Mishra</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Kusum%20Lata%20Mishra"> Kusum Lata Mishra</a> </p> <p class="card-text"><strong>Abstract:</strong></p> Structural, organizational ambidexterity influences along with transformational leadership (TL) in the firms to endure viability in conditions of environmental volatility, high level of uncertainty, and possible turbulence. Combining shreds of evidence from the study of N=693 employees of a large private multi-conglomerate organization in the Middle East, we tested whether social astuteness interceded the effects of (TL) on structural, organizational ambidexterity (SOA). Other tested areas were whether status incongruence moderated transformational leadership and structural, organizational ambidexterity relationships. After analyzing through Hierarchically Linear Modelling, we found that social astuteness interceded the effects of TL on SOA, and similarly, status incongruence moderated relationships between TL and SOA. The association between TL and SOA was found to be less encouraging with a high level of status incongruence, and their relationship was strengthened by a lower level of status incongruence. We tested the hypothesized theoretical framework that articulates the conditions under which the social astuteness ideology infused in transformational leadership for achieving higher structural and organizational ambidexterity will likely occur. Findings, suggestions, and future directions for research have been deliberated in detail. <p class="card-text"><strong>Keywords:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=transformational%20leadership" title="transformational leadership">transformational leadership</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=social%20astuteness" title=" social astuteness"> social astuteness</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=status%20incongruence" title=" status incongruence"> status incongruence</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=relationship" title=" relationship"> relationship</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=structural%20organizational%20ambidexterity." title=" structural organizational ambidexterity."> structural organizational ambidexterity.</a> </p> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/157467/transformational-leadership-and-structural-organizational-ambidexterity-the-mediating-and-moderating-role-of-social-astuteness-and-status-incongruence" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">Procedia</a> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/157467.pdf" target="_blank" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">PDF</a> <span class="bg-info text-light px-1 py-1 float-right rounded"> Downloads <span class="badge badge-light">116</span> </span> </div> </div> <div class="card paper-listing mb-3 mt-3"> <h5 class="card-header" style="font-size:.9rem"><span class="badge badge-info">1846</span> Development and Characterization of Double Liposomes Based Dual Drug Delivery System for H. Inner encapsulating and Double liposomes were prepared by glass bead and reverse phase evaporation method respectively. The formulation consisted of inner liposomes bearing Ranitidine Bismuth Citrate (RBC) and outer liposomes encapsulating Amoxicillin trihydrate (AMOX). The optimized inner liposomes and double liposomes were extensively characterized for vesicle size, morphology, zeta potential, vesicles count, entrapment efficiency and in vitro drug release. In vitro, the double liposomes demonstrated a sustained release of AMOX and RBC viz 91.4±1.8% and 77.2±2.1% respectively at the end of 72 hr. Furthermore binding specificity and targeting propensity toward H. pylori (SKP-56) was confirmed by agglutination and in situ adherence assay. Reduction of the absolute alcohol induced ulcerogenic index from 3.01 ± 0.25 to 0.31 ± 0.09 and 100% H. pylori clearance rate was observed. These results suggested that double liposomes are potential vector for the development of dual drug delivery for effective treatment of H. pylori-associated peptic ulcer. <p class="card-text"><strong>Keywords:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=double%20liposomes" title="double liposomes">double liposomes</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=H.%20pylori%20targeting" title=" H. pylori targeting"> H. pylori targeting</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=PE%20liposomes" title=" PE liposomes"> PE liposomes</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=glass-beads%20method" title=" glass-beads method"> glass-beads method</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=peptic%20ulcers" title=" peptic ulcers"> peptic ulcers</a> </p> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/18114/development-and-characterization-of-double-liposomes-based-dual-drug-delivery-system-for-h-pylori-targeting" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">Procedia</a> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/18114.pdf" target="_blank" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">PDF</a> <span class="bg-info text-light px-1 py-1 float-right rounded"> Downloads <span class="badge badge-light">448</span> </span> </div> </div> <div class="card paper-listing mb-3 mt-3"> <h5 class="card-header" style="font-size:.9rem"><span class="badge badge-info">1845</span> Mind Care Assistant - Companion App</h5> <div class="card-body"> <p class="card-text"><strong>Authors:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Roshani%20Gusain">Roshani Gusain</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Deep%20Sinha"> Deep Sinha</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Karan%20Nayal"> Karan Nayal</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Anmol%20Kumar%20Mishra"> Anmol Kumar Mishra</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Manav%20Singh"> Manav Singh</a> </p> <p class="card-text"><strong>Abstract:</strong></p> In this research paper, we introduce "Mind Care Assistant - Companion App", which is a Flutter and Firebase-based mental health monitor. The app wants to improve and monitor the mental health of its users, it uses noninvasive ways to check for a change in their emotional state. By responding to questions, the app will provide individualized suggestions ᅳ tasks and mindfulness exercises ᅳ for users who are depressed or anxious. The app features a chat-bot that incorporates cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT) principles and combines natural language processing with machine learning to develop personalised responses. The feature of the app that makes it easy for us to choose between iOS and Android is cross-platform, which allows users from both mobile systems to experience almost no changes in their interfaces. With Firebase integration synchronized and real-time data storage, security is easily possible. The paper covers the architecture of the app, how it was developed and some important features. The primary research result presents the promise of a "Mind Care Assistant" in mental health care using new wait-for-health technology, proposing a full stack application to be able to manage depression/anxiety and overall Mental well-being very effectively. <p class="card-text"><strong>Keywords:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=mental%20health"
