The only way to keep the system somehow cooler is if I disable turbo, which neuters my computer and makes me wonder why I did the upgrade from MSI in the first place<img src="https://tpucdn.com/forums/data/assets/smilies/smile-v1.gif" class="smilie" loading="lazy" alt=":)" title="Smile :)" data-shortname=":)" /><br /> <br /> Having said that, I have already read a lot of posts before posting this one, and here's a compilation of settings. Can you please tell me what else I should be changing? as I said, my priority here is not to get a burning laptop, performance wise I am ready to do a little trade-off (other than the disable turbo).<br /> <br /> The screenshots were taken without any game running in the background, but in Turbo mode (Razer Synapse). The temps were recorded during the first minute of Cinebench 23 (they get worse later on<img src="https://tpucdn.com/forums/data/assets/smilies/smile-v1.gif" class="smilie" loading="lazy" alt=":)" title="Smile :)" data-shortname=":)" /> )<br /> <br /> Please give me an idea of what I should do before I go back with it. That's the modification which made the most difference for me. Mine is a much earlier model with a different CPU, but the exact same behavior. Mine was constantly at 95 to 100c while gaming, down to 80 to 85c for a few weeks after repasting, and then back up to 95 to 100c. I tried repasting with different pastes and liquid metal. PTM7950 is the only solution which has lasted.<br /> <br /> That being said, I don't know what sort of paste your laptop ships with. If yours comes from the factory already with PTM7950, then obviously disregard this recommendation. Otherwise, if it comes with traditional paste, PTM7950 has been shown over and over again to perform better and for a much longer duration.<br /> <br /> Also, I have to caution that you shouldn't expect a miracle, because if it is thermal throttling like crazy now, there might not be enough thermal cooling to keep it from thermal throttling even with better paste. In other words, with PTM7950, you may see better performance, but still thermal throttling.
