Consequently, numerous usability evaluation methods have been developed. However, the availability of large variety of evaluation methods alongside insufficient studies that critically analyse them resulted in an ambiguous process of selection amongst non-usability-expert practitioners. This study investigates the factors affecting the selection of usability evaluation methods within a project by interviewing a software development team. The results of the data gathered are then analysed and integrated in developing a framework. The framework developed poses a solution to the selection processes of usability evaluation methods by adjusting to individual projects resources and goals. It has the potential to be further evaluated to verify its applicability and usability within the domain of this study. <p class="card-text"><strong>Keywords:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=usability%20evaluation" title="usability evaluation">usability evaluation</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=evaluating%20usability%20in%20non-user%20entered%20designs" title=" evaluating usability in non-user entered designs"> evaluating usability in non-user entered designs</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=usability%20evaluation%20methods%20%28UEM%29" title=" usability evaluation methods (UEM)"> usability evaluation methods (UEM)</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=usability%20evaluation%20in%20projects" title=" usability evaluation in projects"> usability evaluation in projects</a> </p> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/122850/usability-evaluation-in-practice-selecting-the-appropriate-method" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">Procedia</a> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/122850.pdf" target="_blank" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">PDF</a> <span class="bg-info text-light px-1 py-1 float-right rounded"> Downloads <span class="badge badge-light">158</span> </span> </div> </div> <div class="card paper-listing mb-3 mt-3"> <h5 class="card-header" style="font-size:.9rem"><span class="badge badge-info">6425</span> Towards a Systematic Evaluation of Web Design</h5> <div class="card-body"> <p class="card-text"><strong>Authors:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Ivayla%20Trifonova">Ivayla Trifonova</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Naoum%20Jamous"> Naoum Jamous</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Holger%20Schr%C3%B6dl"> Holger Schrödl</a> </p> <p class="card-text"><strong>Abstract:</strong></p> A good web design is a prerequisite for a successful business nowadays, especially since the internet is the most common way for people to inform themselves. Several intrusive and non-intrusive measures are employed to calculate these parameters. Non-Intrusive Evaluation is most challenging as, very often, the reference clean speech data is not available. In this paper, a novel non-intrusive speech evaluation measure is proposed using audio features derived from the Stockwell transform. These features are used with the Light Gradient Boosting Machine for the effective prediction of speech quality and intelligibility. The proposed model is analyzed using noisy and reverberant speech from four databases, and the results are compared with the standard Intrusive Evaluation Measures. It is observed from the comparative analysis that the proposed model is performing better than the standard Non-Intrusive models. <p class="card-text"><strong>Keywords:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=non-Intrusive%20speech%20evaluation" title="non-Intrusive speech evaluation">non-Intrusive speech evaluation</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=S-transform" title=" S-transform"> S-transform</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=light%20GBM" title=" light GBM"> light GBM</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=speech%20quality" title=" speech quality"> speech quality</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=and%20intelligibility" title=" and intelligibility"> and intelligibility</a> </p> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/139626/development-of-non-intrusive-speech-evaluation-measure-using-s-transform-and-light-gbm" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">Procedia</a> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/139626.pdf" target="_blank" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">PDF</a> <span class="bg-info text-light px-1 py-1 float-right rounded"> Downloads <span class="badge badge-light">259</span> </span> </div> </div> <div class="card paper-listing mb-3 mt-3"> <h5 class="card-header" style="font-size:.9rem"><span class="badge badge-info">6421</span> Nuclear Decay Data Evaluation for 217Po</h5> <div class="card-body"> <p class="card-text"><strong>Authors:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=S.%20S.%20Nafee">S. Regarding the research on teaching quality evaluation, scholars at home and abroad have contributed a lot of research results on the basis of multiple methods and evaluation subjects. However, to our best knowledge the complete evaluation model for the virtual teaching interaction mode of the emerging network music education Application (APP) has not been established. This research firstly found out the basic dimensions that accord with&nbsp;the teaching quality required by the three parties, constructing the quality evaluation index system; and then, on the basis of expounding the connotation of each index, it determined the weight of each index by using method of fuzzy analytic hierarchy process, providing ideas and methods for scientific, objective and comprehensive evaluation of the teaching quality of network education APP. <p class="card-text"><strong>Keywords:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=network%20music%20education%20APP" title="network music education APP">network music education APP</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=teaching%20quality%0D%0Aevaluation" title=" teaching quality evaluation"> teaching quality evaluation</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=index%20and%20connotation" title=" index and connotation"> index and connotation</a> </p> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/131891/research-on-the-teaching-quality-evaluation-of-chinas-network-music-education-app" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">Procedia</a> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/131891.pdf" target="_blank" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">PDF</a> <span class="bg-info text-light px-1 py-1 float-right rounded"> Downloads <span class="badge badge-light">128</span> </span> </div> </div> <div class="card paper-listing mb-3 mt-3"> <h5 class="card-header" style="font-size:.9rem"><span class="badge badge-info">6418</span> A Preliminary Study of the Subcontractor Evaluation System for the International Construction Market</h5> <div class="card-body"> <p class="card-text"><strong>Authors:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Hochan%20Seok">Hochan Seok</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Woosik%20Jang"> Woosik Jang</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Seung-Heon%20Han"> Seung-Heon Han</a> </p> <p class="card-text"><strong>Abstract:</strong></p> The stagnant global construction market has intensified competition since 2008 among firms that aim to win overseas contracts. Traditional methods of usability evaluation have given sufficient insights to reveal usability problems of websites. Eye-tracking analysis has been considered as a useful method that adds a powerful dimension to web usability evaluation. It allows web designers and usability researchers to understand exactly what users do and do not see on a web page, thus disclose more information on web usability and provide a more complete insights on a website design. This paper elaborates on moving beyond traditional methods of web usability evaluation by integrating eye-tracking analysis to enhance the evaluation of website design, and presents three case studies to support this approach. In these case studies, eye movement metrics such as gaze plots and fixation-derived metrics, and user performance data such as task completion times and number of errors were recorded as objective measurements that can inform the necessity for website design improvements. <p class="card-text"><strong>Keywords:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=design" title="design">design</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=eye-tracking" title=" eye-tracking"> eye-tracking</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=usability%20evaluation" title=" usability evaluation"> usability evaluation</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=website" title=" website"> website</a> </p> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/54471/integrating-eye-tracking-analysis-to-enhance-web-usability-evaluation" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">Procedia</a> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/54471.pdf" target="_blank" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">PDF</a> <span class="bg-info text-light px-1 py-1 float-right rounded"> Downloads <span class="badge badge-light">303</span> </span> </div> </div> <div class="card paper-listing mb-3 mt-3"> <h5 class="card-header" style="font-size:.9rem"><span class="badge badge-info">6414</span> Evaluation of the Matching Optimization of Human-Machine Interface Matching in the Cab</h5> <div class="card-body"> <p class="card-text"><strong>Authors:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Yanhua%20Ma">Yanhua Ma</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Lu%20Zhai"> Lu Zhai</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Xinchen%20Wang"> Xinchen Wang</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Hongyu%20Liang"> Hongyu Liang</a> </p> <p class="card-text"><strong>Abstract:</strong></p> In this paper, by understanding the development status of the human-machine interface in today's automobile cab, a subjective and objective evaluation system for evaluating the optimization of human-machine interface matching in automobile cab was established. To better understand and evaluate students’ thinking habits and abilities, GEF introduced Narrative Qualitative Analysis (NQA) in 2014 and has continued the study since then. Through the NQA study, a two-way evaluation scheme has been developed, including both student self-evaluation and teacher evaluation. This study will first introduce the theoretical background and research framework of the NQA study and then focus on student self-evaluation. An interactive online application, MASCOT, has been developed to facilitate students’ self-evaluation of their own thinking complexity. This paper suggests to establish the third-party comprehensive information management platform and put forward an evaluation model based on credit. Four indicators are used to evaluate the drivers’ credit, they are passengers’ evaluation score, driving behavior evaluation, drivers’ average bad record number, and personal credit score. A weighted clustering method is used to achieve credit level evaluation for taxi drivers. The management of taxi industry is based on the credit level, while the grade of the drivers is accorded to their credit rating. Credit rating determines the cost, income levels, the market access, useful period of license and the level of wage and bonus, as well as violation fine. These methods can make the credit evaluation effective. This situation can occur in the professional assessment in several cases such as when it is necessary to consider more criteria variant of the structural subsystems, more variants according to several criteria based on a court claim, which requires expert advice. A problematic situation arises when it is necessary to clearly determine the ranking of the options according to established criteria, and reduce subjective evaluation. For the procurement in the field of construction which is based on the prepared text of the law not only economic criteria but also technical, technological and environmental criteria will be determined. This fact substantially changes the style of evaluation of individual bids. For the above-mentioned needs of procurement, the unification of expert’s decisions and the use of multi-criteria assessment seem to be a reasonable option. In the case of experimental verification when using multi-criteria evaluation of alternatives construction subsystem the economic, technical, technological and environmental criteria will be compared. The core of the solution is to compare a selected number of set criteria, application methods and evaluation weighting based on the weighted values assigned to each of the criteria to use multi-criteria evaluation methods. The sequence of individual variations is determined by the evaluation of the importance of the values of corresponding criteria concerning expertise in the problematic of outside wall constructional subsystems. <p class="card-text"><strong>Keywords:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=criteria" title="criteria">criteria</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=expertise" title=" expertise"> expertise</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=multi-criteria%20evaluation" title=" multi-criteria evaluation"> multi-criteria evaluation</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=outside%20wall%20subsystems" title=" outside wall subsystems"> outside wall subsystems</a> </p> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/47490/utilization-of-multi-criteria-evaluation-in-forensic-engineering-and-the-expertise-outside-wall-subsystem" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">Procedia</a> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/47490.pdf" target="_blank" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">PDF</a> <span class="bg-info text-light px-1 py-1 float-right rounded"> Downloads <span class="badge badge-light">330</span> </span> </div> </div> <div class="card paper-listing mb-3 mt-3"> <h5 class="card-header" style="font-size:.9rem"><span class="badge badge-info">6406</span> The Effect of Group Interpersonal Psychotherapy on Eating Disorder Symptom and Fear of Negative Evaluation of Lorestan University Female Students</h5> <div class="card-body"> <p class="card-text"><strong>Authors:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=S.%20Gholamrezaei">S. To this end, several heuristics to extract such partial dependencies are formulated, followed by the hereby proposed evaluation methods denoted as Proportional Graph Matcher (PGM) and Conversion to Normal String Representation (Nor-Str), designed to better capture the accuracy level of QDMR predictions. Experiments are conducted to demonstrate the efficacy of the proposed evaluation methods and show the added value suggested by one of them- the Nor-Str, for better distinguishing between high and low-quality QDMR when predicted by models such as COPYNET. This work represents an important step forward in the development of better evaluation methods for QDMR predictions, which will be critical for improving the accuracy and reliability of natural language question-answering systems. <p class="card-text"><strong>Keywords:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=NLP" title="NLP">NLP</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=question%20answering" title=" question answering"> question answering</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=question%20decomposition%20meaning%20representation" title=" question decomposition meaning representation"> question decomposition meaning representation</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=QDMR%20evaluation%20metrics" title=" QDMR evaluation metrics"> QDMR evaluation metrics</a> </p> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/173593/evaluation-methods-for-question-decomposition-formalism" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">Procedia</a> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/173593.pdf" target="_blank" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">PDF</a> <span class="bg-info text-light px-1 py-1 float-right rounded"> Downloads <span class="badge badge-light">78</span> </span> </div> </div> <div class="card paper-listing mb-3 mt-3"> <h5 class="card-header" style="font-size:.9rem"><span class="badge badge-info">6404</span> Quality Teaching Evaluation Instrument: A Student Learning-centred Approach</h5> <div class="card-body"> <p class="card-text"><strong>Authors:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Thuy%20T.%20T.%20Tran">Thuy T. There is a need for more sophisticated teaching evaluation measures that focus on student learning and multi-stakeholder involvement. This study aims to develop such an evaluation instrument for Vietnamese higher education. The study uses several kinds of methods. The instrument was initially drafted through in-depth review of research, paying close attention to Vietnamese higher education. Draft evaluation instruments were produced and reviewed by 34 experts. The outcomes of this qualitative and quantitative data reveal an instrument that highlights the value of a multisource student-centered approach, and the rich integration of contextual and cultural traits where Confucian values are emphasized. The validation affirms that evaluating teaching in such way will facilitate the continuous learning growth of all stakeholders involved. <p class="card-text"><strong>Keywords:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=multi%20stakeholders" title="multi stakeholders">multi stakeholders</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=quality%20teaching" title=" quality teaching"> quality teaching</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=student%20learning" title=" student learning"> student learning</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=teaching%20evaluation" title=" teaching evaluation"> teaching evaluation</a> </p> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/76855/quality-teaching-evaluation-instrument-a-student-learning-centred-approach" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">Procedia</a> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/76855.pdf" target="_blank" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">PDF</a> <span class="bg-info text-light px-1 py-1 float-right rounded"> Downloads <span class="badge badge-light">310</span> </span> </div> </div> <div class="card paper-listing mb-3 mt-3"> <h5 class="card-header" style="font-size:.9rem"><span class="badge badge-info">6403</span> Evaluation of Ecological Resilience in Mountain-plain Transition Zones: A Case Study of Dujiangyan City, Chengdu</h5> <div class="card-body"> <p class="card-text"><strong>Authors:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Zhu%20Zhizheng">Zhu Zhizheng</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Huang%20Yong"> Huang Yong</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Li%20Tong"> Li Tong</a> </p> <p class="card-text"><strong>Abstract:</strong></p> In the context of land and space development and resource environmental protection. Due to its special geographical location, mountain-plain transition zones are limited by many factors such as topography, mountain forest protection, etc., and their ecology is also more sensitive, with the characteristics of disaster susceptibility and resource gradient. Taking Dujiangyan City, Chengdu as an example, this paper establishes resilience evaluation indicators on the basis of ecological suitability evaluation through the analysis of current situation data and relevant policies: water conservation evaluation, soil and water conservation evaluation, biodiversity evaluation, soil erosion sensitivity evaluation, etc. Based on GIS spatial analysis, the ecological suitability and resilience evaluation results of Dujiangyan city were obtained by disjunction operation. The ecological resilience level of Dujiangyan city was divided into three categories: high, medium and low, with an area ratio of 50.81%, 16.4% and 32.79%, respectively. This paper can provide ideas for solving the contradiction between man and land in the mountain-plain transition zones, and also provide a certain basis for the construction of regional ecological protection and the delineation of three zones and three lines. <p class="card-text"><strong>Keywords:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=urban%20and%20rural%20planning" title="urban and rural planning">urban and rural planning</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=ecological%20resilience" title=" ecological resilience"> ecological resilience</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=dujiangyan%20city" title=" dujiangyan city"> dujiangyan city</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=mountain-plain%20transition%20zones" title=" mountain-plain transition zones"> mountain-plain transition zones</a> </p> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/152053/evaluation-of-ecological-resilience-in-mountain-plain-transition-zones-a-case-study-of-dujiangyan-city-chengdu" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">Procedia</a> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/152053.pdf" target="_blank" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">PDF</a> <span class="bg-info text-light px-1 py-1 float-right rounded"> Downloads <span class="badge badge-light">110</span> </span> </div> </div> <div class="card paper-listing mb-3 mt-3"> <h5 class="card-header" style="font-size:.9rem"><span class="badge badge-info">6402</span> Measurement and Evaluation Patterns Practiced by Physical Education Teachers in North Badia in Jordan</h5> <div class="card-body"> <p class="card-text"><strong>Authors:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Aman%20Kasawneh">Aman Kasawneh</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Wasfi%20Khazalah"> Wasfi Khazalah</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Abedalbasit%20Abedalhafiz"> Abedalbasit Abedalhafiz</a> </p> <p class="card-text"><strong>Abstract:</strong></p> This study aimed to identify the patterns of measurement and evaluation practiced by physical education in the schools of North Badia in Jordan, as well as identifying the statistical differences according to gender, educational qualification, and the experience. However, previous studies failed to focus on technologies that promised continuous growth in industrial fields. Most studies that derive new technology opportunities do not test practical effectiveness. Since previous studies depended on expert judgment, it became costly and time-consuming to evaluate new technologies based on patent analysis. Therefore, research suggests a quantitative and systematic approach to technology evaluation indicators by using patent data to and from customer communities. The first step involves collecting two types of data. The data is used to construct evaluation indicators and apply these indicators to the evaluation of new technologies. Then, the paper proposes a new specification of object algebra for representation of conceptual level database applications. Transformation of conceptual schemas and expression of object algebra into implementation schema and implementation in a particular database system allows for precise estimation of the processing costs of database applications and as a consequence for precise evaluation of performance-based quality of conceptual schemas.
