comprehensive review on physical, mental, and emotional well-being</h3> <h3 class="webcolor">Abstract</h3> <p><div bis_skin_checked="1" style="text-align: justify;">Introduction: Yoga, as a practice encompassing physical postures (Yogasanas), breath control (Pranayama), and meditation, has gained considerable recognition for its positive impact on physical, mental, and emotional well-being. In the context of modern primary care and public healthcare, which increasingly emphasizes preventive practices and holistic health, yoga offers a valuable system for enhancing overall health. This review explores the role of yoga within healthcare, particularly its relevance as a complementary and preventive practice. Background: The global shift towards preventive healthcare and wellness practices has increased interest in non-pharmacological approaches that promote holistic health. Yoga, with its roots in ancient practices, has been integrated into modern health systems as an effective tool for improving overall health and well-being. Objectives: Review the scientific literature on yoga's impact on physical, mental, and emotional health. Explore yoga's role as a complementary and preventive practice in primary care and public healthcare systems. Methods: A literature review of studies from the past two decades was conducted, utilizing PubMed, Scopus, and Google Scholar. Search terms included "yoga in healthcare," "chronic disease management," "mental health," and "emotional well-being." The review focused on clinical trials, meta-analyses, and systematic reviews (Cramer et al., 2018; Ross & Thomas, 2010).Discussion: Yoga benefits physical health by improving flexibility, strength, and cardiovascular function, and aids in managing chronic diseases like hypertension and diabetes (Ross & Thomas, 2010). It also reduces stress, anxiety, and depression through mindfulness practices (Pascoe & Bauer, 2015). Emotionally, yoga enhances resilience and cognitive function by promoting self-awareness (Gothe & McAuley, 2016). Its holistic nature supports preventive healthcare and promotes long-term lifestyle changes. Conclusions: Yoga offers a scientifically backed framework for improving physical, mental, and emotional well-being. It serves as a complementary therapy and preventive tool, making it a valuable addition to primary care and public healthcare systems, promoting balance and improved patient outcomes (Cramer et al., 2018). </div></p> <h3 class="webcolor">Biography</h3> <p><div style="text-align: justify;" bis_skin_checked="1">Mr. Sandeep Shaligram Wankhade is an experienced Yoga Teacher and Yoga therapist. Mr. Sandeep has an advanced training in Yoga and specialised in Ashtang Yoga principles. Mr. Sandeep has teaching experience of 24 years in the field of Yoga. He has also conducted workshops and training across the globe. After completing his Yoga education at G. S. College, Kaivalydham, Lonavala, Pune University, he also appeared for the PhD (Yogashstra) at Kaivalyadhama Research Center, KKSU Ramtek, India. Mr. Sandeep Wankhade has worked as a yoga teacher for three years (2009-2012) at Lal Bahadur Shastri Centre for Indian Culture Embassy of India, Tashkent, Uzbekistan and two years (2016-2018) at ICC, High Commission of India Windhoek, Namibia. He was also deputed to Ashgabat, Turkmenistan to conduct the 1st International Day of Yoga (2015) by Government of India. He has presented yoga research papers at national & international conferences and He delivered many guest lectures and Keynote address at national and international seminars and conferences. His yoga articles were published in prominent Namibian newspaper. He is keen to spread yoga culture with fundamental and applied research works.
