Orszag is racing across wet pavement for a 35-minute run, into a shower and a suit…”the piece began.</p> <p>Yet Orszag has found time for love &#8212; perhaps too much of it. While the New York Post reports tonight that Orszag and venture capitalist Claire Milonas welcomed a &#8220;love child&#8221; in November, the news isn&#8217;t entirely happy for Orszag. Why not? Despite the sniffles, overall, I’d say he is optimistic about the industry. He admits there are challenges that lie ahead, but he says that “the fundamentals of our business is good.” And why wouldn’t he be excited about the new year? Alimera Sciences, one of two ophthalmology companies that the Foster City, Calif.-based firm has backed, is in registration for an $80 million IPO. And Brooks says he sees plenty of opportunities to find deals with good valuations. <br> <br>Brooks and I also chatted about health care reform and the 28th annual J.P. (Unsurprisingly, the $750 million in stock that Google put on the table was a little too rich for AdMob to resist.) <br> <br>What might interest followers of the mobile ad industry is that Quattro, which had raised just under $30 million over three rounds, was in the market for another $10 million to $15 million as recently as early November. The reason: while the mobile market opportunity is huge, Quattro was slated to see just $18 million in revenue in 2009, with a revenue target of $36 million in 2010. (This according to a trusted source who met with the company recently but, sadly, I didn't see until today.)<br><br><a href="https://web.archive.org/web/20100107082134/http://www.pehub.com/60047/the-more-you-know-quattro-wireless/" style="text-decoration:none;color:#000000;font-weight:bold;size:11px;">Read more &raquo;</a></div><div style="clear:both;"></div><div class="tc"><table border="0" cellpadding="0" cellspacing="0" border="0" width="100%"><tr><td valign="top" style="width:76px;"><a href="https://web.archive.org/web/20100107082134/http://twitter.com/home/?status=RT+%40peHUB+The+More+You+Know:+Quattro+Wireless+http://bit.ly/8fhChz" target="_BLANK" style="margin-left:4px;background-image:url(/web/20100107082134im_/http://www.pehub.com/images/twitter.png);background-position:0px 0px; background-repeat:no-repeat;padding-left:21px;padding-bottom:3px;padding-top:1px;">ReTweet</a></td><td valign="top" style="padding:0px;width:1px;"><img src="https://web.archive.org/web/20100107082134im_/http://www.pehub.com/images/sphere_divider.gif"></td><td valign="top" style="width:78px;"><a href="https://web.archive.org/web/20100107082134/http://www.facebook.com/share.php?u=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.pehub.com%2F60047%2Fthe-more-you-know-quattro-wireless%2F&amp;t=The+More+You+Know%3A+Quattro+Wireless" target="_BLANK" style="background-image:url(/web/20100107082134im_/http://www.pehub.com/images/facebook.png);background-position:0px 0px; background-repeat:no-repeat;padding-left:21px;padding-bottom:3px;padding-top:1px;">Facebook</a></td><td valign="top" style="padding:0px;width:1px;"><img src="https://web.archive.org/web/20100107082134im_/http://www.pehub.com/images/sphere_divider.gif"></td><td valign="top" align="left"><a style="padding-left:0px;" href="https://web.archive.org/web/20100107082134/http://www.pehub.com/60047/the-more-you-know-quattro-wireless/#comments">0 Comments</a></td></tr></table></div> </div> </td> </tr> </table> </div> <div class="post" id="post-60038"> <table class="post_table" border="0" width="629" cellpadding="0" cellspacing="0"> <tr> <td rowspan="2" width="119" align="center" class="post_table_avatar" valign="top"> <table class="post_table_av" width="88" height="88" border="0" cellpadding="0" cellspacing="0"> <tr> <td align="center" valign="top"> <a href="https://web.archive.org/web/20100107082134/http://www.pehub.com/author_column.php?id=229"> <img src="https://web.archive.org/web/20100107082134im_/http://www.pehub.com//user_images/danprimack.jpg" border="0" width="60"> </a> <br><br> <a href="https://web.archive.org/web/20100107082134/http://www.pehub.com/author_column.php?id=229" style="color:#ffffff;"> Dan Primack </a> </td> </tr> </table> </td> <td width="510" align="left" valign="top" class="post_table_header"> <h2><a href="https://web.archive.org/web/20100107082134/http://www.pehub.com/60038/monomoy-capital-back-in-fundraising-mode/" rel="bookmark" title="Permanent Link to Monomoy Capital Back In Fundraising Mode">Monomoy Capital Back In Fundraising Mode</a></h2> <table border="0" width="510" class="post_table_postdata" cellpadding="0" cellspacing="0" style="height:40px;color:#ffffff;"> <tr> <td width="50%" align="left"> <small style="color:#ffffff;">Posted on: January 6th, 2010</small> </td> <td width="50%" align="right"> <p class="postmetadata"><small style="color:#ffffff;"> <p><a href="https://web.archive.org/web/20100107082134/http://www.pehub.com/tag/monomoy-capital/" rel="tag">Monomoy Capital</a></p></small></p> </td> </tr> </table> </td> </tr> <tr> <td width="100%" align="left" class="post_table_entry" style="padding:0px;"> <div class="entry"> <div class="nndiv"><div style="float: left; padding: 10px; height=100%;"><img class="alignleft size-medium wp-image-60039" title="monomoy" src="https://web.archive.org/web/20100107082134im_/http://www.pehub.com/wordpress/wp-content/uploads//monomoy.gif" alt="" width="245" height="77"/></div>Monomoy Capital Partners is back in fundraising mode, raising $250 million for its second turnaround vehicle focused on the smaller end of the middle market. <br> <br>The New York-based firm was formed in early 2005, when four investors with turnaround giant KPS Capital Partners left to hang their own shingle. Per usual, it's mostly a behavioral argument -- VC investment (and thus successful entrepreneurship) will slow if taxes are raised on VC profits. Also per usual, it's bunk. Will Flybridge and/or Highland stop investing if carried interest tax treatment changes? Of course not. Remember, VC investment was at record-high levels back in the late 1990s, when capital gains rates were much higher than they are today. I like both of these guys personally, and I'm not sure if they're simply putting the best face on a bad case, or if they honestly believe VCs deserve preferential tax treatment to other performance-incented money managers...
