During that period, <a href="/New_Jersey" title="New Jersey">New Jersey</a> has spent six years under a <a href="/State_government_trifectas" title="State government trifectas">Democratic trifecta</a>, eight years under a <a href="/State_government_trifectas" title="State government trifectas">Republican trifecta</a>, and 12 years under <a href="/State_government_trifectas" title="State government trifectas">divided government</a>.
